This is the best rendition of this song. Guy Lombardo's Orchestra used this piece in later years as a crowd favorite.
Between the electrical process of recording at Victor in 1925 through 1930, Nat Shilkret had the best dance band in the world. The next two years, the orchestra didn't sound the same, for the most part. "Rain on the Roof", also recorded by Nat Shilkret and written by Ann Ronnel in 1932 is an exception. After April 1932, Nat Shilkret disbanded his dance band. He concentrated on the Salon Music style for the remainder of his time with Victor.
I can say Roger Wolfe Kahn's Orchestra was a close second and during the same time period. After 1928, Wolfe Kahn went with Brunswick. By 1932, Wolfe Kahn was recording for Columbia Records. After that, he gave up music.
As like many young and successful celebrities of the 1930's, he became interested in aviation.
