Hello, Nadrel here, In this mission, the changes introduced by Moebius are the following: - Increased enemy attack waves and defenses. Also the air waves. - Timer for massive Zerg attack added if you destroy the Zerg base. - Additional expansion available in the West. - New path available for SCVs, Reapers and HERCs to reach the 2nd artefact. The changes already added by Nightmare are the following: - Half the zerg attacks are replaced with protoss attacks - Zerg attacks stronger against T - Zerg attacks stronger against P (Lower time limit) - Stone zealots at end 1) HP increased by 3x 2) Fire effect from LotV Colossus (With reduced DPS)
It's Spectre time. We don't see them nearly enough (because the ghost is better), and we wouldn't be the comment section if we gave Grant an easy time.
@@alexsalvador3108 You can only do the spectre mission after starting the ghost mission if you kill nova immediately. Finishing a single area of that mission will make killing nova lose the mission instead. Funny thing is, if you kill nova immediately, it ends in a TIE! lol I was amused by that.
One thing I want to point out that Grant didn't notice is that there is actually an expansion on this map, by what is normally the second relic. Not only that, but there's a path for Reapers and Hercs to get said Relic! Really cool adjustments to the level design
Honestly, taking out the zerg so you don't have to worry about the timer was how I was actually able to beat this mission on Nightmare so the bonus credits for taking out the hive works out quite nicely.

Grant! Remember that the "marine" upgrade for the combat shields also applies to your medics. And since the medics also heal mech it will probably be a value for money upgrade.
On one hand, yes, but medics rarely die, esspecially with there shields, stun nades, and the usual accompaniment of powerful attack forces, so i don't think it's necessary, esspecially not when theres all the other stuff that acts as a significant upgrade, as opposed to +10HP.
I just did this mission on my own stream today! I made the mistake of following the mission advice, and tried to go for the zerg base early.. Then things hit the fan cus I didn't make any protoss progress and suddenly was getting a 12 minute time limit XD... Clearing the protoss base first and then going for the bonuses's seems better
*Fun* *Fact* - "Condor" is a common name for two species of vulture. I don't know how the Hellion rolls into it, thematically, except that one of the species is located within California, which has been on fire for the past 6 months. Is "currently happening" even worse than "too soon," or is it better? 😐
Huh, I don't see any comments to read yet. Oh well. The bonus credit objectives continue to be fantastic. This mission also seemed really easy compared to the original when I played it, though that was only on hard. I think the better burst damage from marines really favors fighting protoss. I'm also quite amused to see Grant and I both made an engineering bay at the same location and found the preplaced one after having started the last infantry upgrade.
The Legionnaires are also just better overall against the Marine's zerg counters - the Baneling and the Ultralisk. The autoheal on near death stops random bane rolls from annihilating Marineballs while the slower but stronger attack of the Legionnaire negates the massive armors of the Ultralisk when Burrowcharge the deathball.
@@JulianCastelle23 On the other hand, the Legionnaires are decidedly worse against swarms of Raptorlings, compared to base Marines which handle base Zerglings quite cleanly. But now that I think about it, placing a few Cerberus in front of your Legionnaires mostly solves the Raptorling problem, AND the armor-burn makes the Ultra an even weaker counter. In base WoL, it was much more difficult to compensate for the base Marine vs base Baneling/Ultra weakness. Win for mixed comps I guess.
Specter mission next please! Also, I don't remember if any of these were nightmare changes but... I really like the secondary base on the left, the reaper cliff to steal the relic on the left, and the zerg air-wave times that makes sure there is still a time limit.
that depot there is very cleverly placed. its just in the way on the first air wave, just enough to give you a warning but at the same time giving you enough time to react and start building defenses from there.
I love the idea that Firebats and Marauders both have AOE debuffs. It makes having just a few worth having even in comps that don’t need tons of anti-light or armored.
I would check if ghosts or specter hasn't been modified for another unit entirely! Check out if any are super spicy then we can easily choice! Ah, and check the anti-air turret upgrades. It might have anything new
The firebat armor reduction is really good, extremely good, it's -3 armor flat against anything they attack. Condors are roughly as useful as the hellion and the Vulture, but slightly more towards the vulture.
Now that he got that standardized armor for that emergency protocol for all barracks units does getting the improved immortality protocol on the Marine affect everybody
The Spectre is one of the units in Wings of Liberty. My favorite moment in this playthrough is when Grant said "It's Spectre time" and proceeded to Spectre all over the bad guys. I want you to go to New Folsom and get Spectres btw.
Help tosh I get the feeling he may be added to your hero roster if you do. It would be pretty cool to have him past this mission if the mod makers thought of that.
Hey Grant. I just wanted to let you know it does my heart some good to hear such unbridled joy even after a tiring day for you. Anyway, my vote is for whichever between Ghost and Spectre seems like a bigger change from the base game to you, based on the descriptions in the windows.
Wonder if the upgrade ESP from the armory is installed onto the other barracks units if you buy it while getting the Standardized Armor or if that is a marine only upgrade.
Meinhoff for the condor bike then into deadman's port to double up on the spider/widow mines. That or go for ghost, lots of big bad zerg and I assume snipe will have somekind of boon to it, like maybe it'll be able to target mechanical units like Nova in coop.
Just finished this mission, and I finally learned the proper way to use the reaper. Put 6 reapers into a bunker with the range upgrade, and they chew through light enemies.
I absolutely cannot wait for All In Planetary Bunker defence. It's probably going to suck because of the PF's size compared to the regular bunker, but it will be hilarious. Mass spectres with emergency survival protocol on some mission in the future sounds... interesting. Pretty please.
While I'm curious to see all of the new units, right now I'd like to see the Condor Bike the most. It looks like something "the most new" and thus the most interesting. It would also be cool if the creator had made the unit actually viable for the mission in which it's introduced. As for the Ghost/Spectre I'll be repeating myself. Ghost is usually the better choice, so I want to see how the creator had buffed the Spectre to be a viable competition.
I believe you should go for Ghost of a Chance. Also, you might wanna check if buying upgrade for marines in armory upgrades all of the units now that you have marines healing ability on everyone
I would like to see you get and use the specter. Also, could you click on the missile turret upgrades in the armory, as we (those of us who haven't binge played this mod already) have not seen them yet.
So, something I noticed in playing this mod is that when you get to the missions where you have to choose one path, you can play the other path from the archive and still get the bonus credits. I don't know if this is intended, but it is good to be able to try out all the new upgrades available. Also, when the choice comes to choose Tosh or Nova, vote Nova. Even if you want Spectres, vote Nova. Trust me there is good reason for this that will not disappoint.
I know everyone has been wanting to go get the Ghost or Spectre for awhile now, but I think it would be kinda fun to see the Widow Mine in WoL, especially on defense missions

About Ghost and Spectre. Spectre is too situational while WoL's last battle is Zergs with not worth it. Play both missions and see how Ghost and Spectre work. (HP/Shield/attack/attack speed/upgrade) And Your tech is full of infantry support power, so pick unit suite your playstyle
i wanna see if you get tosh from the spectre mission, as i remember the pre mission thing saying nova wont join you so personally id go for the possible extra hero unit
does anyone know how much HP/Shields and armor and range/damage it gets when fully upgraded with engi bay upgrades? im curious since i took 9 armor perdition turrets for my choice
Honestly I want to see Xil next for the siege tank but I’m more interested to see if grant will chose the specters over the ghosts since it’s almost always a wash for picking ghosts for that snipe ability
Unless you enjoy added difficulty in coop, swap to the normal campaign before doing so. It screws with the ai logic there. Examples, I had sky terran go around the map to attack our mineral lines, and on lock and load, the bases dont stop attacking to reinforce a lock

It is genuinely amazing to me how much variety of game design that is possible using the SCII campaigns as a base
The Spectre mission is slightly different, more interesting than usual, and fun!
If you want to do the spetre mission I highly recommend starting the ghost mission, just try it ^^

Spectres is the correct choice because they are canonically employed by Moebius later on in LotV.

Let's go for Spectre. There's more potential for their toolkit to be cool and unique than the Ghost I think.

freaking love this mod. been playing on e50 mode, and its SUCH A BLAST. its nightmare (which i ABSOLUTELY LOVED) with just that extra twist.

The Planetary feels like an actual fortress now that you can garrison in it. Very cool design!

About those taldarim scouts harrasing mineral fields - these are not a nightmare feature, they come at any diff above normal.

Planetary as a bunker filled with medics basicaly makes you immune from worker harrasment
