Clive Owen is one of my favorite actors. He is so versatile and the characters he plays I can relate to those roles. Great behind the scenes conversation.
Julianna is just perfect, all the time. I love watching her interviews cause she always has smart and interesting points. She is such a talented and thoughtful actress and I love her!!!!!
oh but the chancer and that one about the detective loosing his eyesight? i fell for him hard watching those...while it was still acceptable to smoke on tv :)
+Messofanego It was very interesting that comment to me too, but I kind of got confused about that particular fact you know... What exactly is to shot in sequence ? Is it like shot by episode???
Edith Cortes 3:50 They don't film chronologically, and they shoot bits of different episodes together like Thackery's scenes in his house, instead of just that episode.
It's ironic that actors- some actors let's say play action men (Daniel Craig as James Bond) who are in control of everything, can handle all sorts of situations- or are marketed that way, when really the acting industry from the outset seems like an unstable, unsure business where even the actor upon performing, doesn't know how good their performance is. IE- if I'm a boiler repair man, I know that once the boiler is repaired, there are testing measures that I can personally take to see if my work is 100%. As an actor, you don't have control and can easily be manipulated into something you don't want to have to do. Fairness I mean. Even if you're part of the union which itself is a feat of itself, acting seems sporadic with frequent lulls. If you're in a union with transport for london for eg, there would be great work conditions- I'm not too sure about acting? Can anyone weigh in on this? Thanks.

Clive Owen gives an outstanding performance, I really hope he gets an Emmy nomination.
I love this. 2 professionals having an in depth discussion about their work. It's pretty fascinating.
i seriously want him to be the next James Bond♡
+MyTeenLifeLoLTV same here when he did Sin City i thought that
Feel privileged to have met this man in his and my home town of Coventry! lovely man and such a talented actor...ill be there one day too!
Love this...both super talented Julianna Marguiles & Clive Owen--awesome.
One of the most compelling and complete conversations.
"what was it that got you, Clive Owen, to say yes to doing a television show?" Because The Knick is an absolute masterpiece

Gosh she was just amazing in ER. Love her
Thack was an absolute legend of a character. Clive was superb as the rest of the cast/everything to be honest/
That was some great insight into Soderbergh's process. All 10 episodes shot and directed before airing, big whiteboard, out of sequence like a movie.

that's right she played Clooney s love interest in ER. beautiful woman..
they'd make such a good TV couple imma right
I *knew* he was going to say The Croupier. ;)
i always thought he would have made a fitting successor as james bond..but daniel craig took it over again
I've know about him since Privateer 2, a PC game in the Wing Commander Universe. In Borne and Children of Men... see that film it's fimnonital.
Clive owen next james bond... Reminds me almost of timothy dalton
Perfect couple (for a movie, of course...)
She and Rachel Weisz could be sisters.
aquablushgirl Not all Jews lookalike
Mmm I know, hence that is not what I said.
aquablushgirl well I think I read they're friends or so :)
Hope so, I love them
I always felt she looks very similar to Rachel weisz.. With straight hair..
Julianna will always be Carol Hathaway yo me.

The reason I'm asking is because I'm considering going into acting but just want some advice/thoughts?
It's "Margulies", not "Marguiles".
