We saw a Cassowary in Tropical North Queensland!! | Ep.12

We had just driven down from Wallaman Falls and stopped into Mission Beach for a look before settling into Etty Bay for the night. We had been looking for a cassowary for a while and we finally saw one!

I grew up living among an Aboriginal tribe a couple hours north of where you guys are. We had to hunt and fish every day to eat, as we had no electric, plumbing etc. We encountered heaps of cassowary's while hunting pigs in the rain forest, and I gotta tell you, at close range where both them and you are startled hard, it's heart pounding. 🙂 I'm so glad you were able to have a close encounter with these precious animals..video doesn't quite do justice to how absurdly freakish their colors and appearance are. 40 odd years on after moving overseas, I get my fix for fnq through vloggers like yourselves, and I thank you so much for documenting the wonder of the outdoors and sharing it. Much luck to your further adventures, and I look forward to following.
