Congrats on 60K Harbo! I feel ya on Rings of Akhaten, that episode is imperfect but it's way better than people give it credit for. Matt's big speech is stellar, of course, but there's a lot to enjoy beyond that too! Like a lot of series 7 I think it's quite underrated.

Most memorable moments in the show for me are that bloke getting ripped apart by the carionites in the shakespeare code and Sarah Jane discovering the tardis in school reunion 👌
9:42 How can you say before this you barely listen to Big Finish, then crap on it as fallen off?? You JUST SAID you don't listen to it, so where does this impression come from? Elaborate. Is this a rumor you were told by someone? In what way is it "Tainted?"
Hey there! That's fair criticism, I should've gone into more depth. My main issue with modern Big Finish is their quantity over quality approach. There's way too much coming out and most of it feels very derivative. A lot of current Big Finish feels like a game of madlibs trying to jangle keys and pair up random characters, like River Song and Jackie Tyler. It feels unnecessary. There's also their incessant recycling of the same small pool of writers all the time, so it just feels so samey and repetitive.
Also, they've milked the Time War dry but they STILL insist on making more stuff about it constantly. I also don't like how they're still churning out 8 and Liv stuff when that should've ended with Stranded. I just don't like the creative direction of current Big Finish. Obviously there's still a lot of good stuff, but the majority of it feels so stunted and bland.
Oh and one last thing, I hate their new approach of breaking up boxsets into single releases, like with Sontarans vs Rutans and the Dark Gallifrey stuff. Just screams of them trying to eek out some more money from the listeners.
Even though I've only listened to a fraction of what I own, I've still listened to more than enough Big Finish old and new to know that they're dropping in quality and I've heard a number of more hardcore Big Finish fans saying the same thing
Hey! Glad of your reply. This is still me I'm just too lazy to change accounts. I can see some of your points. It does recycle a lot of things and do mashups that don't make sense, or if they do make sense, weren't necessary. I buy most of everything they put out except for some of the spin-offs. I'm only slightly behind on listening to stuff. I was pleased they were ending the War Doctor where they did but now they have something else coming out... Liv maybe should have left with Stranded but at the same time then we wouldn't have gotten Paradox of the Daleks and I love that. I think they're trying to tell a story that wraps up Helen, there's still this lingering thing about her discovering her sexuality. I think if we find some sort of happy or sad ending for Helen, this will provide the impetus for Liv to come back to Tanya at the end of Stranded.
I've never bought into the notion that the same writers being used can't tell new stories. I think this is a weird way to look at writing as a whole. Especially coming from people who are writers themselves, people who write RUclips scripts. How would you feel if someone told you you had no new ideas to share and that you should just stop? Established writers know how story structure works, the good ones continue to improve themselves, like you do. I see this argument over and over again that only new writers can make new stories and I'm like WTF, seriously? Have you watched Series 11? If you think the output of a brand is becoming Bland then I think the story editors and producers should be the ones you blame, as they should have an idea of everything that's coming out, and everything that already has come out, and if anything is similar to anything else.
All of that said, they do put out too much stuff, and yes the single releases are kind of annoying, but then they do fit on my shelves easier that way😅. I wouldn't say the quality has dropped, but the quantity increase has made it harder to relisten to things and really appreciate them better on a second or third listen. I liked the War Doctor begins much better on the second listen. Especially the stories with Case.
I would like an animation of The Massacre just so more people would talk about it.

I understand not going beyond series 10 (viewership of the show went down so much that it would only stand to reason your time making videos would be wasted), but I do hope you finish out the Capaldi era for the retrospectives. You will be busy with the new series soon so understandable to wait until that is done. Those videos are how I found the channel in the first place and I continued watched because there were insights I didn't know about. Something I hope this new Disney era fixes, to make up for 4 less episodes, with how Disney has released a lot of behind the scenes stuff. I hope that in the new series we will get the things that you otherwise can only get in the UK. It makes no sense to me for example why the commentary videos and the all the behind the scenes stuff from the specials were not included on D+ or RUclips even if it was released later once most people had seen on the site which requires you to be in Britain to see.
I'm glad you covered my favorite Doctor Who episode of all time, and besides the sleep episode series 9 there wasn't a bad episode in the bunch. Just some better than others. And while series 10 isn't at that level having one really bad episode on Mars, Knock Knock wasn't anything special, then some mediocre ones. But The pilot, the monks arc was great, and the 3 part finale really was a high note for both Capaldi and Moffat to leave on. To be honest and selfish, I would watch all your retrospectives, but if you just did the pilot, the monks and the last 3 as retrospectives I'd be fine with that :p
As you said before you have gotten better since you started, and one of the things you have gotten very good at is delivering information I didn't know about. Much of which I can't get access to because I don't like in the UK.
Hopefully series 15 will get the show back on track, Gatwa's first episode certainly delivered for me, and who knows (pun/reference not intended) maybe you will see an uptick over time as the series goes on. Maybe new people who don't want to go back and watch the entire show because it looks and sounds dated. Would be more willing to watch your retrospectives as a means to get caught up.

@harboWholmes You should do a video based on Madam Kovarian because of the time of the doctor storyline. you understand how she was actually good guy in killing the doctor in the past to stop the doctor speaking his name in Trenzalore to stop the War that was going to happen in the future. It was also a wasted opportunity for her not to appear on time of the doctor.

Now I want to ask if you've seen BBC Merlin?
Adrian Lester should have been cast. He’s a superb Shakespearean actor. Of course he’s too old for the likes of RTD and Julie Gardner as they seem to hate older actors in the role. Hardly inclusive is it. I’m afraid the new trailers leave me feeling cold as they all seem so goofy, camp and silly in tone. Yes Doctor Who has had camp, goofy stuff before but in moderation. Peter Capaldi was the best actor in modern Who. He can summon up an emotion with one look without shouting and being too OTT. Don’t think we’ll ever get another older actor in the role whilst RTD is in control.
Writer I would love to see write an episode (but it won't happen): Connie Willis, author of the Oxford Time Travel books, which I got into after seeing a recommendation for _To Say Nothing of the Dog_ on a _Doctor Who_ forum.
