- Alright! The 2022 KTM RC200 has been in India for a while now but having ridden this only at a closed circuit, we had to roll out a city review as well. After being on a saddle for a long time, we can firmly say, we have an opinion! Yes, it does look different and yes, the price is over 2 lac rupees now but does it make sense for you to buy one? 7 years since the first RC review came out? Wow. Time flies. Cant believe its been that long already. I still remember that review and many lines from it. It was what made me buy the RC 390 and at that time it cost me around 2.25 to 2.3 lakh on-road in Pune. Coming to the new gen RC 200, I think the biggest improvements they have done over the years is fine tuning the niggles of the past and on reliability of the machine. As far as looks goes, I will leave it to personal preference.

I got mine, looks awesome inperson.
The front put me off at first, But I think I have grown on it, It looks ok now. But they could have changed the front still on an otherwise fantastic bike.

@@alexmercer3001 Thanks Alex! Appreciate the love. I don't think its as easy as that because there is quite a bit of testing involved here.
Regression in sportiness both in looks and functionality in favour of bit more comfort and better ergonomics. Now its one of the sporty looking fully faired motorcycles instead of being pure, absolute sportsbike like before.
Also doesnt the fairing and tank remind you of CBR250R or 1000RR, especially with the straight-down cut slit in the fairing?

Ya but can you please suggest a set of tyres better than the stock ones because they are not that good in providing confidence while cornering.
@@hodophile_diaries id say go for michelin road 5...the rr310 runs on those.they have great levels of grip and last pretty good

Strictly speaking, the rs200 and the Gixxer 250 make everything in the 150 - 200cc class look bad

The new KTM RC200 is a much better improved motorcycle than the previous gen. In terms of looks the old one was compact but it doesn't has that big bike feel. With this new design its looks and feels like a bigger bike to Ride. Ok the front looks more is functional but may be a little weird. However from the side it looks like proper sports. Then the engine performance absolutely superb. What also good its refined and smooth to. It also gets good features like an LCD screen, all LED lighting , dual channel ABS but it Misses out on a slipper clutch. The best part is after all these changes its still weighs the exact same wow 😮.
Overall the new RC200 is more of a proper road bike that can be used for track day capability as well rather being a full fledged track machine like the previous RC. I realy like new RC200.

If it had a lower seat height i might have considered it. Damn, being short is no fun when new bikes are launching left and right and youre limited by your height

Gixxer SF...for an all rounder in the budget.... Or shell out a bit more and get the Rr310.... If sports is ur only concern get this rc200

Chapris ruined the appeal of this bike. KTM Duke especially is the signature vehicle of Chapris. It is becoming a joke.
As a stand-alone bike, the new rc200 definitely makes sense. But that never was the purpose of the original RC series. It was for you to train your self for something bigger,Faster and more visceral. For someone serious about that aspect, the learning curve will be a bit more when they step up.
The 390 will always be that bad boy.
@@varunpainter6964 I hope it still does. Wasn't gonna risk it though and got my previous gen rc390 when the images of the new RC leaked. It is just not something I'll get down after a long ride to just ogle at it for a few minutes before heading upstairs.

It's not that this bike looks bad or that I don't like it, I really do.
But the last one was so much better, the sharpness the angry front the massive side fairings to art out on. This feels like a downgrade design wise

How good are the tcx boots on the long trips? I have the x-blast for touring and enduro, but I was looking for some sportier ones
I have been riding/touring with the TCX RT-Race Pro. Proper race boots and I can be in them all day long. That’s how good they are

@@sahilkaushal9359 being an ex RE owner... Just don't do it. It is not worth the pain. Even if the newer RE with the new engine is better than the ones in 2016.. I would not recommend it. It may have that retro look towards it which many people like, but that is all what it has. Lazy chasis and the weak brakes!! RE fans love it for many reasons and I respect it but if u r a guy who likes to drive sporty and love to carve corners and do power pulls once in a while RE is not the bike for you at all. It is just Ok to cruise in between 60-80kph. That's it..
Decide based on your driving styles and what you want. Such expensive purchases should be fully justified to ourselves. Buyers remorse is too hard..when we spend our money on something that we waited for long but it turned out to be not to our liking and suiting for us.
Check out the Husqvarna twins as well... definitely not as comfortable as Gixxer 250SF but has a better street presence.
