The world will never see another talent like that big Hawaiian man! There was nothing that Cat couldn't do! He could sing like an angel... and play guitar like a demon!
I was lucky enough to walk in a bar in Lahaina Maui in 1987 with a young guy playing acoustic guitar and singing. Soon afterwards a young Hawaiian guy walked in with two beautiful ladies on his arms. The guy playing handed his guitar to the Hawaiian guy who proceeded to play La Bamba like I never heard it before. He was monster player and singer who ripped it up!!! When he finished he handed the guitar back to the poor average player who had the misfortune of following him. The player grabbed the guitar and the mic and said laughingly.. "I have to follow that? I hope there's something left of my guitar!" and then introduced those of us who didn't know him saying "Ladies and Gentlemen Mr. Willie K!" I talked to him on FB recently telling him about that night. He responded with happiness hearing how much we enjoyed that evening.. Sadly Willie passed away a couple days ago at the age of 59..RIP Willie.. Thank you for the music and the memory...
Wow, I just found out about Willie K. Wow amazing and any other words are just not enough. True music form his soul. I am truly blessed to have found out who his is. Still blessing everyone from heaven.

I'm lucky to live in a time when I can see and hear Willie K perform on guitar, ukulele, and vocalize like no one else in so many different styles. Willie K no ka 'oi!
YOU ARE SO FREE SPIRIT...JUST DOING YOUR THING ...SINGING AND LIVING YOUR LIFE YOUR WAY....U PUT ON THE BEST SHOW ...THIS MADE ME LAUGH ...THANK WILLIE K FOR SHARING THIS....
I grew up with Willie and the Kahai'ali'i Ohana. Their Aloha was incredible. Back in High School (Lahainaluna), he idolized Jimi Hendrix and could play Jimi better than Jimi.
Besides listening to your fabulous powerful voice+guitar and upbeat humor ... I'm enjoying your performance of 'Over the Rainbow' very much. [Feels like I'm there.] The Inlay on guitar neck is pretty cool too. Lucky I found this clip by accident. I'll be listening in to more of your you tube videos. First time I've heard your work. Very uplifting.
