    The 38 is perfect. Hamilton got it right this time.
    Great movie too…the morse code on the 42 spells out ‘Eureka’

    I always loved the design of the Murph but the 42 was just too big for me. A few weeks after the 38 came out, I saw it at 15% off online, so I ordered it. Absolutely love it!!

    if only the 38mm had that Morse code on the seconds hand, it wouldve been the perfect film enthusiast watch! i gotta say the lack of Morse is a pretty major deal breaker for me because thats what essentially ties the movie to the watch but the 52mm lug-to-lug on the 42mm is an even bigger deal breaker for most wrists out there.

      I used to think the same but the 38 is actually more true to the movie watch which didn’t have the more code. They only made it 42 mm to make it easier to film also.

      The morse code is a cool touch and hopefully they add it to the 38 one day if they get enough requests to do that.

    Thank you for an impartial video. Lug to Lug is a measurement that so many people do not consider which is crazy as it determines how the watch sits on your wrist. Just waiting for prices on the 38mm to come off RRP now.

    Debating on splurging for my 40th. Beyond mental budgeting, I want to get the 42mm, but the 38 sounds nice with the AR coating and anti-magnetic protection. I have an 8" wrist lol, but I don't mind smaller watches. My biggest watch is a Tissot PRX Powermatic 80, and I often rotate that with an Prospex Alpinist (39mm) and a 1984 Seiko "Day Date" 36mm.

      Not even close. Murph still looks way better, have ar coating, better nivachron spring, and it's not almost twice as expensive. Recheck the real price.
      If you gonna compare price, compare both in MSRP or real market price. Don't be biased
      And you don't even have the Murph 38mm to compare in your own video channel!

    A few weeks ago I bought a Hamilton Khaki Field on a bracelet in 38mm. I would have gotten a Murph 38mm, but it didn`t come with the bracelet, same thing with the KF in titanium. I am wearing the KF now, and wear it every day. I also chose this watch over the Alpinist, but did so because of reliability. I am still happy with my choice, it`s comfortable and keeps good time, gaining about two seconds per day.

    The 38 wears like a 40 because it has no bezel. Conversely that why the 42 looks big. Compare with Seamaster that’s also 42 but wears ok and looks perfect even on 6.5” wrists. That lug to lug is also long.

    It’s weird because I also have a 7in wrist. Granted my wrist is flat but it’s weird that a 52mm lug to lug is looking like there’s overhang on you. On me I can wear 55mm lug to lug with zero overhang. You sure your wrist is 7 inches?

    • @TheCdM1981
      @TheCdM1981 Год назад

      @@brentmillertime8778 well that makes sense because 5mm is equal to right under .2 inches. There’s a legit difference between 6.75in and 7in, in regard to mm’s and watches. But I will say there was absolutely no reason for Hamilton to make the lug to lug 52mm. Look at the top time by Breitling for example. They make a 42mm (mustang and corvettes versions)with a 51.2mm lug to lug and it looks great on a 7in wrist.

  • @yankeexpress
    @yankeexpress Год назад +5

    Have the 42mm and enjoy wearing it. It has only 2 flaws and they only fixed one flaw on the reissue 38 while introducing 2 new flaws (no Eureka and too thick). Absolutely NO reason for the 38 to be any thicker than the 42. The clunky lowbeat movement on both is a shame. Seriously considering swapping the movement to a smoother highbeat 2824 or SW200 movement. An $700+ watch should have a 28.8k bph movement.

      @@ocb05 Why would a smaller version of a watch get thicker? It makes no sense. Rolex Explorer 36mm is 0.5mm thinner then its 39mm version, but this gets thicker why? cause being cheap. It's a cheap watch.

    • @ocb05
      @ocb05 Год назад

      @@robert7622 wow. I am speechless at your explanation.
      Look, I agree with you that, typically the smaller it gets, usually thinner as well.
      But to simply think it is thicker because being cheap is kinda ignorant and arrogant don't you think so?
      Noticed as case size diameter goes smaller, the lugs and bezel design also changed? It is a new case design with new proportion. Now why they make it thicker? Maybe the 0.4mm different is because of the domed sapphire crystal? Or it suits overall design aesthetic as a whole? We do not know. But it looks good and more balanced to me, than the 42mm.
      Since you say it is thicker because being cheap and it is a cheap watch, care to elaborate? I mean thicker means more material use according to you no? They won't do that if they are being cheap.
      Or you are at a point where you think Hamilton watches being cheap watches while your Rolex is classy and rich ass? I sincerely hope you do not think like that.
