I was ecstatic when I saw that HARPAD 12-string converter. I wanted one right then and there, but then I heard how expensive it was. almost $400 for that? I’ll just buy an actual 12-string guitar for that price... might be useful if you want to transform your J-45 into a 12-string or something but for lower-budget players such as myself, that’s not worth it. I mean, why even is it so expensive? It’s a big piece of plastic with strings on it, why would it cost that much?
I went to the website and I have no clue how to even buy it... then again I'm not really tech savvy, considering I spent 90% my life in a house without internet
It's probably not mass-produced, and it has to be really strong to withstand strings at tension, especially when it's so thin and oddly shapped - string tension could easily snap something like that in half.
I would definitely buy the Harpad. As someone who has a nice 6 string acoustic and only has a few songs written for 12 strings, being able to attach that accessory instead of buying another guitar for those few songs is a great value.
The Guitar-jo sounds kinda like a sitar. It's certainly a *cool* sound, even though it sounds nothing like a banjo. The Chordinero and Harpad are both pretty cool, too.
That submarine pickup, if it was made well, would be a good idea on your low strings through an octave and then into a separate bass amp. I knew a local 2 piece band where the guitarist did that to good effect only he didn't have the extra pickup to selectively choose the bass strings.
I was completely surprised by the 12 string thing and the capo thing. I was expecting both of them to be completely useless pure gimmicks and they turned out to be pretty cool actually.
I actually went to school with the brother of the guy who invented the guitar-Jo. We were in community college and he asked me to try it out and give them a detailed review on it. I didn't do it because I was wwaaayyy too stoned to commit to do anything at that time but it's funny to see it on this video, I had forgotten about that
