Sometimes I watch these whenever I just want to take a trip down memory lane . I am going to be 24 next week but I still like to have a child's imagination . Thank you PBS 😊
@@arielgonzalez5296never knew that Reading Rainbow had a young writers' contest I would've entered and won with a poem called A Sister’s Pain and a Brother’s Shocking Regret
Guys, WNET 13 and WLIW 21 were members of Public Broadcasting Service. It think, PBS Southern New York. Then continued with KCET, KOCE, and KQED were PBS Los Angeles. WPBS and WNED were PBS Northern New York. And WGBH and WGBY were PBS Massachusetts. Dont forget WFWA as PBS Indiana.
I remember the Helena Rubenstein Foundation bumper from this station with the music at 1:10 because it always came on before Sesame Street. Does anyone have the version of that bumper? It had the same picture of the kids and same announcer, but the music mentioned.
I wonder when these particular Reading Rainbow fundings were introduced. Because there's an earlier version which was used in 1998, but it had CPB, the Pew Charitable Trusts, and the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations instead of RCN (ruclips.net/video/6WqJePEM7TI/видео.html)
It was before Dot and Dash were introduced, but they were gone in sometime in 2000 or 2001, which was when they started using the Barnes and Noble sponsor, and it's possible that they may have used the 1999 funding when the opening to the show was changed.
WNET did not adopt the default PBS Kids graphics package for the first 14 years of the block’s history. They were fully phased in between 2013 and 2019. The adoption of a general graphics package in early September 1999 forced the station to drop its PTV idents a few days before the PBS Kids block debuted. In addition the Helena Rubinstein Foundation was absorbed by channel 13’s operations between its merger with WLIW in 2003 and December 2011, when the foundation ceased to exist as a separate entity.
There is a very likely chance I have some minor nostalgia for this one. By the fall of 99, I was already watching some shows and this was one of the major PBS stations near me, so there is a slight possibility for me remembering this one.

@@arielgonzalez5296never knew that Reading Rainbow had a young writers' contest I would've entered and won with a poem called A Sister’s Pain and a Brother’s Shocking Regret
I was only 5 months old when this was recorded. It feels weird to think that this was almost 21 years ago now.
going back to school ... trying to restart my brain.....
These late 1999 promos are becoming so ultra-rare. I hope people have more PBS Kids recordings around that time to mid-2000.
this was shortly after the P-Pals ended

Nostalgia!!! I turn 28 this year 😩😩😩
Correction: This is not from Summer 1999. The Dot and Dash logos premiered on September 6, 1999, so this is from September of 1999.
Blah... I guess PBS just isn't my forte. :P
Monday
The new WNET/Thirteen logo was not used on-air until September 23, 1999.
I want to see more commercials from PBS 1999 and 1999 and maybe 2000.

Carman - Time 2 - Self Esteem
@2:46 There's no way a kid would be out there late as hell until the morning just for a gotdamn frog to jump.
ikr! And there's no way a frog would just sit there all that time waiting for the kid to say please.
Yeah that's fucking impossible!!!
What about that commercial with the girl trying to hula hoop?
Does your 1999 recording have any other PBS shows recorded at that time? Plus, was the opening theme for "Reading Rainbow" the older or newer version?
So do they still say the annual financial support from viewers like you back in 1999

Cringey NetworkTM um Dot and Dash were already introduced but when Zoom ended it showed the P-Pals with the E/I
Are you going to upload the Reading Rainbow credits?
Yes!
Can you upload the Reading Rainbow credits? We're missing the intro from this time but the credits would still be cool to have.
I don’t normally do requests but eh, sure. I’ll get to it within the next week or two. I’m surprised I didn’t include the credits here actually...
Oh wow, cool! I didn't expect to get a reply so soon! :)
Haha, that’s the advantage of the RUclips app. Instant notifications :P
Cool! :)
Are you going to upload it soon?
growing up was the worst mistake I ever did

Why do you have commercials on public broadcasting service channels?
I heard a child saying lots of numbers 628 of less or what's.
And mud only looks like chocolate.
lol

You mean WNET.
The sounds is way too low on this.
Thank God for volume control.
But it still sounds low. Anyways are you going to upload the Reading Rainbow credits? You said you'd get to it weeks ago.
+CDCB2 Why haven't you uploaded the reading rainbow credits?
Have you found the Zoboomafoo Closing Credits with Healthtex?
Gonzalez Eric Hernandez Linda Martinez Barbara
I have thirteen
Do u always watched that network?
The sound is too low.
Indeed it is. Thank you for your observation.
Is there a way it can be made louder?
Well, can you do anything about it?
+CDCB2 But is there anything you can do about it?
Please fix the Goddamn sound before we all get fucking miserable!!!
You don't happen to have any ZOOM episodes, do you?
Just about 20 seconds of an unknown episode. Haven't had much luck otherwise.
+CDCB2 If it's from season one or possibly a 2000-2001 airing of season two I'd still like to see it, as it might be something we're missing.
It's on this tape, so probably from Season 1. Can't remember what happens in it, but I think a kid is showing a science experiment.
+CDCB2 If you have time, can you upload it?
If it's one nobody has -- I'll see..
mud only looks like chocolate lol
But you can't eat it that's just plain nasty
