- What If Count Dooku Became a Jedi Council Member Over Mace Windu? Let's explore the depths of it in this video.
After his mission with Mace Windu on Raxus Secundus, Dooku waits outside the Jedi Council chambers. Mace had already gone ahead to give his report.
After a few minutes, the council finally summons him inside. Though they already read the reports, they asked Dooku to explain what happened. He knows he overstepped his authority and went beyond the mission's requirements, but he wasn't ashamed of his actions.
When he finishes, the council members look at one another.
Yoda: Put yourself in great danger, your actions did, Master Dooku.
Dooku: I do not fear danger.
Yoda: But not just you, you endangered. Put at risk, Mace Windu was.
Dooku: We are Jedi, the day we fear risk and danger is the day we are no longer fit to stand in this order.
Yoda: Boldy said, my former apprentice but much truth there is to your words. Perhaps in need of your voice, this council is.
Dooku blinks and looks around at the council members. Their faces are unreadable, but he can sense the excitement in the room.
Dooku: I-I do not understand.
Yoda: With Master Katri's death, an available slot there is on the Jedi Council. Believe you should fill that seat, we do.
Dooku: I-I am honored. I will do my best to fulfill my duties.
With this new position, Dooku's first act was to assemble a task force led by Mace Windu and Adi Gallia to investigate senate corruption. There have been many complaints of war being abused by senators and villages being left to crumble.
These had been ignored by the Jedi who preferred to let the Senate handle these matters. However, Dooku looks into these problems head-on and begins investigating these issues immediately.
This won him many powerful enemies in the Senate who wanted to keep these issues secret. Many politicians use their influence to hinder the Jedi's investigations, whether through blockades, anti-Jedi propaganda, or using the long arm of bureaucracy.
Dooku planned for this by appointing Mace and Adi to handle this task. The former never cared about the Senate's rules and happily carried out investigations in secret. At the same time, the latter had ties to pirate gangs and smugglers, giving the Jedi access to the underground. If necessary, they began to smuggle relief goods or people.
The further this investigation went, the deeper things went. This was corruption on another level. Entire worlds were being sold off to corporations for profit, senators forcibly moving entire towns to redevelop the land, and trading organizations blockading planets that did not agree with their terms.
With this information, they begin filing reports to the Senate. Unlike the rest of the Order, Dooku was a seasoned politician and knew the best ways to reveal this information. He began allying himself with young, idealistic senators who agreed with his beliefs, including Bail Organa and Mon Mothma.
Using this information, the two began pressuring the Senate to take serious action, threatening to publicize the information. This was effective as many of the guilty parties were seriously fined and there were even attempts to regulate groups like the Trade Federation.
This won the Jedi and Dooku few friends, but one of the people who agreed with them was Chancellor Finis Valorum. Although considered weak, he shared Dooku's ideals and saw the Jedi as a way to push for changes in the Republic. The two began to work together with Dooku reporting all his information to the chancellor who used it to challenge his rivals. In exchange, the Jedi would provide him with support.
However, Dooku doesn't want to become too dependent on the Republic. He suggests moving parts of the Order elsewhere across the galaxy to operate independently. Outposts are set up on far-off planets to be more proactive with their needs.
As the Jedi were now taking serious action to combat corruption, their reputation among the citizens soared, and with them, the chancellor. However, not all people were pleased with this.
Nute Gunray and the Trade Federation did not take these developments well and contacted his secret ally, Darth Sidious, demanding he take action.
Gunray: Because of this upstart, the Republic is now threatening to investigate my business. If they discover anything, I'll be ruined!
Palpatine: Patience, my friend. It shall never come to that. The Senate is as toothless as ever.
Gunray: It is not the Senate I worry about, it's the Jedi! That Dooku must be stopped.
Palpatine: And so he shall. Though they love the Jedi now, I assure you that feeling will not last.

In this alternate universe, if Dooku still holds his title and possesses significant wealth and political influence, he should utilize his resources to spearhead the reconstruction of StarLight Beacon. With his considerable financial backing and political sway, Dooku could also establish a dedicated republic army to safeguard the newly rebuilt StarLight Beacon and prevent it from facing the same tragic fate as its predecessor.
I was surprised at no mention of Darth Plaguis.

Dooku as leader of The Jedi Order would be great he would tell people to reach there full potential which only few had a higher one then himself within the order only Yoda And Anakin had higher counts then him while Mace would of been close to Dookus count but not equal nor as high but a near equal to Dookus midi calc yeah.

What if the Jedi and Mandalorians made a peaceful alliance during the High Republic?
Is plagueis still alive. If so then anakin skywalker has yet to fulfil his destiny as the chosen one. So does dooku find anakin on tattooine or not when dooku visits tattooine. This could be a part 2 to this video or a whole new what if video entirely.
By the way ploo kune being beaten by maul is not very likely to happen. After all it was padawan obi-wan kanobi that beat maul on naboo. So ploo kune dying at mauls hand is not very likely. And maul putting up such a strong fight against such top tier jedi is a pretty big stretch considering his defeat to obi-wan on naboo. But all in all this is still a fine what if that you have created and I enjoyed watching it.

...Dooku wouldn't struggle against this version of maul. He's little more than an assassin at this point. I have to say this started good and turned into a massive disappointment.
Organa and Mothma woundn't be in the senate at this time, they became senators sometime between TPM and AOTC. Bail Antilles, who was much more pro-establishment than Organa, would've been Alderaan's senator at the time.
What if Anakin Skywalker was a female?

I feel like people are too fond of Dooku and too critical of Windu. Among the various SW fan fic writers I've come across on YT, you, Pente, SWG, FF... there really seems to be - to me - this weird perception, NOT, that the Sith were powerful, evil masters who successfully overthrew the Republic and betrayed the Jedi - but rather, the Jedi were a bunch of corrupt failures who just let the Sith succeed.
I don't know where this comes from - what SW media people are watching or reading that causes this. I don't see that at all. I see the Jedi as heroes who lost. Victims of a plan more than 1000 years in the making.
I feel like that's Disney - ever since new canon began there has been this trend away from the Jedi and rebels being heroes and more and more there has been a focus on how BAD they were. How corrupt blind the Jedi were, how even when the Rebels win, they still lose and the New Republic is no better than the old. Luke and all the classic heroes are completely ruined in the sequels, portrayed as nothing but failures across the board. Luke fails the Jedi, Han fails his family, Leia fails the NR...
It's just so utterly depressing to me.
It's not that the Jedi didn't make mistakes, of course they did, but they weren't GODS. They were still mortals, super powers or not. Expecting endless perfection of them is absurd. And almost no one ever acknowledges that they were an order 10,000 strong in a galaxy with 4 QUADRILLION people. I would argue that every if every single one of that 10,000 strong were as strong as Yoda - they still couldn't help everyone and solve everything.
More on topic, I do like this story - I do think Dooku would have pushed the Jedi in the right direction and would have made a big difference. But I don't think he's a magic pill that fixes everything.
A lot of us make the mistake of thinking if not the character we got, everything would be different. Who is to say that if we got someone else it wouldn't play out the same? Maybe Anakin never turns and Palpatine just gets someone else to be Vader. Maybe Dooku never turns and Palpatine just gets someone else.
Again, 4 QUADrillion people. 4,000,000,000,000,000 people!!! It's a GALAXY! Not a city on Earth with like 3000 people. Like most SW stories - not this one - but many are written.
My what if? What if there were 10 times as many Jedi - 100,000 Jedi spread out among 10 major temples across the Galaxy. Each Temple base for 10k Jedi. Each Temple with its own Jedi Council and "Head Master" with all the Head Masters making up the High Council.
