  • I revisited Lost Valley State Park...located just outside of Ponca, Arkansas to explore the Lost Valley Trail. I'll take you to visit the Natural Bridge, Cob Cave, Eden Falls, and the Eden Falls Cave where we will go all the way back into the cave to see the waterfall.
    Be careful if you don't like tight spaces as this cave will definitely test your nerves. It requires tight squeezes and very low ceilings that require crawling on all fours. It's a little scary if you do not know where you are going so be careful and bring someone with you if you can.
    Enjoy the video and if you have any questions leave them in the comments.

    Been there many times. Grew up near there. 1st time was in the '70's on a field trip in high school.

    It's really not bad.. it is only tight for a few feet.. I live about 10 minutes from here and the entire area is unreal. It's a hidden gem.

      It is unreal! I love it there. You are lucky to have so many great options for adventure so close by.
      It’s...not bad...but I am a big guy! It was pretty tight for me. I’ve done this one before with a group and it was easier than going alone... it tested my nerves going in alone.

    Man really beautiful area outside the cave. Eden is definitely a fitting description. And a few times in the cave I wasn't sure you were going to be able to make it through. It looked tight!

      Man I really love this part of Arkansas...although it’s hot during the summer it gets so lush down deep in the valleys. And as for the cave...it was definitely tighter this go round...I’m thinking I may have grown a bit over the past 6 years!

    Whoah, now that’s a cave! I like the music you chose for the caving part, well chosen. That looked like some tight squeezes, good on you for moving forward. Not sure I would have haha! Very cool video.

      @TheNotLostNomad  2 года назад +1

      Hey thanks man! You know I don’t think I’d have the nerve to go back into this cave if I had not been there before. It was definitely uncomfortable! Not the biggest fan of tight places like this!

    You are a braver man than I! Maybe if I had someone with me would I squeeze back into that cave. But ALONE! Great video. Beautiful places I didn’t even know exist in that area. I spend too much time focused on the River. Oh and love the Milwaukee flashlight. Was that product placement? Hope you are getting compensated by Milwaukee 😉

    • @TheNotLostNomad
      @TheNotLostNomad  2 года назад +1

      Haha! Compensated weekly I guess you could say! Yeah man this was a crazy cave...it definitely helped that I had been there before. It was unnerving to go alone but I knew I’d regret it if I didn’t make it to the falls.

    Wild, man. I'm learning that caves scare the crap out of me. At least when they get tight. And I feel you on revisiting something that you made a video on a while back. We just did that last weekend. I watched the old one and.....wow. Embarrassing.

    • @TheNotLostNomad
      @TheNotLostNomad  2 года назад

      Oh man same here...I was ok with the group I was with last time but alone really freaked me out. Just too many sketchy variables. Yeah it’s wild to look back at old videos... it’s cool to see the progress but wired to think that the bad videos weren’t that long ago!

  • @dannylgriffin

    Wow, I would not have done the cave crawl to the falls, but fantastic video! I like it when you tell us how long something took you to hike which you did not do in this video. How long did it take you to get to the cave entrance of Eden Falls?

    • @TheNotLostNomad
      @TheNotLostNomad  2 года назад +1

      Hey thank you! So the trail is maybe just over a mile and a half to the cave...so it isn’t too long. I took my time shooting and it probably took me 30-45 minutes. And even if you don’t go back into the cave it’s still worth the effort. There is so much scenery packed into a small area.

    Is it safe to take kids through? 11 and 9? Did you ever feel like you would get lost?

    • @TheNotLostNomad
      @TheNotLostNomad  2 года назад +1

      You should be fine...it gets really tight but it’s not necessarily dangerous unless there is too much water. Gar to the far right as you enter the cave and you will see the path...keep going and you will drop down a few feet. Just follow the sound of the water. It’s fun! Be safe!

    • @hgbugalou
      @hgbugalou 9 месяцев назад +2

      Completely fine for kids as long as you have a couple lights. I recommend bringing a large wide field flash light to see the falls in their entirety.
      It's impossible to get lost though, the cave is short and doesn't meander at all. Make sure your kids have long pants as you do have to crawl a couple times on your knees. The danger is more in the path outside that leads to the cave as it is elevated over the river pretty high and kind of narrow and steep. Its nothing crazy, but you will want to keep an eye on your kids and let them know to not play around.
      It can be iffy going in the spring. You can see the waterfall at its peak, but it can also rain so much the cave floods and you cannot traverse it. I usually go in the winter because there is water but not too much, and less people. The hike itself is fantastic and has lots of super cool things in the rock formations and the river. The first 1/4 mile may seem kind of boring but it gets much cooler pretty quick after that.

      yeah bring lights, I cut my forehead pretty bad on a jagged rock in there. I couldn't see it
