In order for towns like this to comeback, the Mayor and City Council have to plan or the people have to push for change. You have to bring in job resources such as Amazon, Car plants, Distrabution Centers. Some type of factories.
Small towns have a lot of great assests. People seem more content in a small town. I sure would pick your town over many big American cities. Great tour❤
@@Theeorie4393yea that’s the biggest issue. I’ve always talked to my wife about this. All they need is a wal mart. That creates jobs and people would actually spend more money. Even people that live close by like water valley and Oakland. Even Grenada people would stop buying and spend money in wal mart if they put one there. Even a fast food restaurant would help bring some money into the town. Do that and people that live in other towns close by would also commute from their town to work there. That’s one of the biggest ways to help the town grow.
I love the video creators optimim on trying to get all the unused space in the town occupied. I hate to see old building rot away because the town can't support the business. As a potential retiree, its good to know that the crime rate in Coffeeville isn't as bad as lot of the surrounding areas. That's a valuable piece of information to know before moving.
The reason why every building is empty is because the businesses weren’t making money! The reason why they weren’t making money is due to the low population of the town and people not frequently visiting and spending money. How much does the average household make a year? That matters!! If the people aren’t making money they can’t spend money! If they can’t spend money that they don’t have then the businesses won’t make it!!
I think that some of those towns are being ignored. Maybe they need more job training and employnent agencies. Why is it that smaller developing countries are doing better than the USA? You want those people to move to the big cities and live in crowded places .
Those buildings have been empty for 10+ years, at some point...someone has to try again. I do believe if the right businesses were placed in town, the community would support them. Example: a grocery store...I recently saw a small town (in illinois) save their only store by coming together. However, I do agree with your response to a certain point. The average household is around $50,000 but people will spend money on things they need.

I think it is great that you are an idealist person. This town between 2010 and 2020 lost 11.9% of it’s population. It has 797 people and a total of 457 households. If Water Valley can attract new residents(a lot due to attracting people from the town of Oxford to move there), it makes me wish that the town of Coffeeville could attract such people to move there as well. Towns like Coffeeville need more than just DG and Dollar Tree to shop at, and like you said it'd be nice if a grocery store and bank could open here. That and rehabbing decaying buildings in downtown Coffeeville, would greatly get the ball rolling in getting population back there. If towns like Water Valley, MS can make a population comeback, and same witb Roanoke, IN, does make me hope places like Coffeeville could come back. Would be especially nice if some new grocer, could take over the Piggly Wiggly space.

That place must look beautiful in the summer with all the land and trees. Unfortunately you can't put new businesses in a town without enough people to support those businesses. You first need to get more families with income to move there, and then you can build up the businesses. But it definitely looks like a Lovely place to live. ❤❤

Is the Mayor and the city council working on bringing in needed businesses. Maybe the Director of Economic Development for your county could assist the city with economic growth grants .
You need the right honest politicians in town that have the same dream as you do. It looks like a wonderful little town. It takes hard work and a reason for business to locate there.
With so many people in northern states retiring and heading south for better weather, you would think MS would try to get in on that trend more than just down by the gulf area. I am one of those people, but I am looking more at NC, GA, and TX. I am just not sure that the racial climate in MS has come far enough to really feel welcome.
If a business comes in and employs the locals then money will recycle as they can spend in their home town they need a urgent care , grocery, daycare, vet, McDonald's
If the state of Mississippi structure a nice package plan for production businesses to move there, with some nice tax breaks and incentives, that town could really grow
I like your video and watched the whole video because the name is appealing to me since I'm a big ☕ coffee drinker. I like the small town there but it's not close enough to the Gulf Coast for me. I plan to relocate to Gulfport Ms in a few years. because the Gulf beaches are beautiful there.
This is a cool video, and I appreciate your positive attitude, but the reason why there's no-one here is because there's no-one making money here. If no-one is making money they can't spend it. The rents are too high and if there's no work and rent is too expensive, people leave for where the work is. It's a catch 22, unfortunately. I'd love to build a recording studio here, btw! Both for my own use, and to rent out to other musicians. But again, there just wouldn't be enough regular business to sustain it, which is a real shame.
Hi I’m a native of Oakland Mississippi. Just wondering if you could drive through Oakland? I was last there almost 3 years ago for my grandmother’s funeral. I currently live in Iowa
How many students could you possibly have in a town of less than 1,000 people? And what do the few students do between elementary and high school? A regular walmart would be overkill, but one of those wlamrt neighborhood markets that just sells food would be fine.
To answer your question could I live here? Possibly.. if there were a grocery store. Where do you all do your grocery and clothes shopping?Family Dollar and Dollar tree cannot possibly be where everyone shops for food…
Honestly, if you're an outsider, it may do okay but if they know you, then no. (I know it sounds weird) Only reason I said okay and not great is because one is already on front street.
There is a diner on front street it’s called The Ville and they have been in business for about 4 years or so now and have great business! Oh and Bells TV station is in business
Baby ain't no one going to invest any money in that place. Look at all of the other small towns in Mississippi, they've all dried up, poverty is the main causes for these problems. And the number one thing is the fact that it's Mississippi.

I joyed the Video I Subscribed just now, I watch these types of videos all the time what I liked about yours, is that you did a tour of the town all most all this types of videos or silent they never say anything at all...... not all but most... I live in the city and have been looking for a small crime free town too possibly move too, I'm retired so all I would like is some PEACE and Quiet (Smile) ... !!!
Thanks for subscribing and giving feedback on the video. Peace is a beautiful thing.
Your voice sounds like LEE LEE OUT THE BOX.....I was a subscriber to her channel. Somehow I don’t get notifications anymore. I just stumbled up on this channel. Very interesting,I’m subscribing. Is this LEE LEE?
Hello! 😁 yes, glad you've come across the channel. Thanks for subscribing. Different content, we will see how it goes.
My family is from water valley. I see both towns are in Yalobusha county
Most towns die when there is no employer of any kind. No jobs means no money and people move away.
Sad but mostly true
That place must look beautiful in the summer with all the land and trees. Unfortunately you can't put new businesses in a town without enough people to support those businesses. You first need to get more families with income to move there, and then you can build up the businesses. But it definitely looks like a Lovely place to live. ❤❤
I will continue to follow you. Love you
Heyy, thank you. Love ya back
Love the video,i need the peace of mind
What do you do for groceries, banking, jobs, recreation etc. What's the income level? What's the cost of a home?
It’s very cozy.. I’m a subscriber.. will you be posting any other areas?
Heyy, thanks for the sub and yes, I have 2 more on the channel so far. Link below is of Water Valley, MS

@@InTheseStreetz Hello Beautiful, over here admiring you from a distance. I will keep our secret.🤣🤣🤣I found you again. Must be meant to be .❤️🤣🤣🤣
2:07 Spain was suppose to buy the building and expand another store to replace the building.
The have some darn nice street lights.
They have to create something in that town to draw ppl there with only the town population and income the businesses wouldn’t flourish
Hello from Arkansas showing love
Heyy, shout out to Arkansas! Thank you.
And that church by the coffeeville elementary school are open
Bring in the Business the people will come...they will bring jobs.🙏👍
Is the Mayor and the city council working on bringing in needed businesses. Maybe the Director of Economic Development for your county could assist the city with economic growth grants .
You need the right honest politicians in town that have the same dream as you do. It looks like a wonderful little town. It takes hard work and a reason for business to locate there.
Whats the nearest airport....my next vacation should be in this quaint town
😁 Nearest airport is in Memphis, Tn and nearest/best hotel is Oxford, MS
They need a Bed and Breakfast place.
I Love places like this. You’re right so much potential 😊I could live there❤
😁
Not trying to be rude, but no you couldn't
@@Theeorie4393 You know me? Not being rude but there is potential.

No Damn way...where are the people at ? No grocery store?...No hospital 🏥 or nothing?
This was a great town review. You now have a new subscriber. 👋🏾
Hello, thank you and welcome!
👍 just found you new subscrber
Hello and thanks!
If businesses come… how can they be sustainable.? Barnes and Noble? How?
Barnes and Noble was wishful thinking, I used examples but I know that one in particular would not make it.
this town needs a large company or manufacturer to come in and create jobs or i dont see any future any time soon for coffeeville.
I'm afraid you might be right
It can be save build one large building that can have one stop shop
What about the water lines? Good idea.
This a cute little town. I'm from a small town in NC. Our town went to hell when Wal-Mart came. Please don't bring that company into your town.
What kind of churches? Nice town
If the state of Mississippi structure a nice package plan for production businesses to move there, with some nice tax breaks and incentives, that town could really grow
Home Sweet Home!
What are you talking about my place where I stay in Coffeeville
I like your video and watched the whole video because the name is appealing to me since I'm a big ☕ coffee drinker. I like the small town there but it's not close enough to the Gulf Coast for me. I plan to relocate to Gulfport Ms in a few years. because the Gulf beaches are beautiful there.
Thanks for watching the whole video and I have to take a trip there soon. I need a vacation so I'll make a video while I'm there.
The Gulf Coast is nice. Just avoid most other parts of the state unless you want to spiral into a serious depression
You are so very right. Not enough revenue and you will be upside down before you know it
I'm from Coffeeville Alabama. South of Meridian east of Waynesboro
Shout out to Coffeeville Alabama!
Hi I’m a native of Oakland Mississippi. Just wondering if you could drive through Oakland? I was last there almost 3 years ago for my grandmother’s funeral. I currently live in Iowa
Hello and will do, I actually had them recorded but the sun blocked alot of the views so I will re-make.
@@InTheseStreetz Oh I’m ecstatic!!!
Where would the nearest Walmart be
20 min away
Bring Amazon warehouse, and LGSky food supplies
My daughter and her dad live there
How many students could you possibly have in a town of less than 1,000 people? And what do the few students do between elementary and high school? A regular walmart would be overkill, but one of those wlamrt neighborhood markets that just sells food would be fine.
To answer your question could I live here? Possibly.. if there were a grocery store. Where do you all do your grocery and clothes shopping?Family Dollar and Dollar tree cannot possibly be where everyone shops for food…
There are surrounding towns to shop for everything, they are about 15 min away.
@In These Streets, do you think a diner would do well on Front Street?
Honestly, if you're an outsider, it may do okay but if they know you, then no. (I know it sounds weird)
Only reason I said okay and not great is because one is already on front street.
Yes I think it would do good
There is a diner on front street it’s called The Ville and they have been in business for about 4 years or so now and have great business! Oh and Bells TV station is in business
@@meggieb.4747 Bells is still open?! Good to hear.
Baby ain't no one going to invest any money in that place. Look at all of the other small towns in Mississippi, they've all dried up, poverty is the main causes for these problems. And the number one thing is the fact that it's Mississippi.
