Don't recommend a tube tent to anybody nor try to consider it good enough, your survival chances in it during heavy rain with the strong wind without experiencing hypothermia are close to nil. Cheap 2 person tents can be bought from local supermarket or online with delivery for 10$ and are usable for summer hiking too, you will struggle to find any homeless people living in a tube tent or tarp even in a warm climate, and there is a reason for that...
