In this video I show you and advise you on how to make a wooden replica of Alastor Mad Eye Moody's second version wand from the Harry Potter films.
From marking out and turning the wand on a wood lathe from a beautiful piece of teak wood. Then grinding, carving, filing, and sanding the wand to shape. Then painting the wand and weathering the wand with paints and inks. Then lacquering the wand with spray lacquer and finally testing the wand to make sure it works! :-)

This wand is perfect... Exactly like the character's wand... Also, all wood.. so perfect... I love this wand... Very accurate and realistic to resin ones... Thank you for sharing and making a wonderful wand... Love the ending too.... Very nice... and funny...
I too make wands with a Dremel and seeing how you did designs with the other bits, just realized... I haven't been using all the bits in the box. Thank you again..!!!

@@DRRCreations Tbh I see the lathe bit as almost cheating but your results pretty much justify its use, especially as it was a commissioned piece.

@@DRRCreations, most are my own creation. But they are mostly inspired by happy potter wands. They are all different, like Ollivander said, no two wands are the same. So none of my wands are the same. Each one is different in its own unique way.

Mate this is awesome. I too make wands myself however they don’t look nearly as good as yours as I don’t have a lathe or rotary tool like you and also I’m quite new to it. I hope to improve by adapting and maybe using some of the techniques in the video.
Thank you 😃 It's great to hear that you might use some of the techniques! Don't put yourself down, I'm sure your wands are amazing! It definitely helps having the lathe and rotary tool but before this I used to just carve wands and I created a lathe using a drill clamped to a plank of wood so you don't always have to have the perfect tool 😊👌
