Jon always gives 100%. He struggles through the entire song, but he delivers, he gets there. He doesn't have to play this difficult song to sing, but he does. I respect him so fucking much. He really shows respect for the fans and gives us all he's got everynight.

Did you know that he recently had surgery? He is now wearing some kind of thing that is supposed to help a regressed vocal cord to form again. Imagine if he could sing like he did back then, that would be incredible! but even if not, he's still a better singer than many other famous singers who have always been at a moderate level vocally! My main wish for Jon is that his voice gets better again, because this is his life!

This is a fantastic performance but he actually does use a track to assist him on some high notes. Look at any performance of Livin on a prayer post 2017. He doesn't actually sing the high "Livin on a prayer" right before the solo. In some performances you can clearly see his mouth moving away from the mic and the note isn't done yet

Phil X just seems to me just a "normal" guitarist being a replacement in this band for a famous and talented guitarist as Richie is/was... You can't compare them in any circumstances.. Richie rocks Always -as Jon does too.. Phil X is just "normal" - doesn't make anything out of ordinary stuff.. This is my opinion... i saw both of them in real concerts - Richie is talented and brilliant.. Phil X is just good! regards

Apparently Bon Jovi rarely ever performed this song live because it was so difficult on Jon’s voice. Killer effort on his part with this. He stayed in tune and nailed some really difficult notes. He still sounds amazing! A true professional!

They aren't haters. I know Jon, he even admits he's lost his voice, that's why this is his last and final tour ever. He said if he can't bring it, he isn't worth the cost of tickets. He doesn't want to give sub-par performances. So he even admits it, they aren't haters, he is physically losing his voice, nothing he can do about it at-all. So I applaud him being brave enough to not only admit it to us, but to himself. Kudos to Bon Jovi.

Agree. The extended solo at the end gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. And just love the fact that someone who has had a modest career as a hired gun now gets to play in one of the biggest bands in the world on some of the biggest stages. Yes I know the purests will go “he’s not Richie” but imo Phil is technically so much better and he’s now finding his place in Jovi and stamping his authority over the lead guitar role.
@@grazzak1972 Well Richie also had another value to the band with his voice. I saw the concert in Austria one month later and was amazed. Maybe because Jon knows his voice is weakening, but now they are much more a band and seem somehow closer than ever. You could also see it on the video wall, the core band members had quite a fair share on it. But not only this: it all felt more like a unit than ever and not just as like BJ and his band. Maybe this is one of the reason, they go on and on. They found more unitiy than ever.

Most singers at 59 who have performed night after night for many years wouldn’t or couldn’t have even attempted to sing this song in the same key as back in the day. But he did and he nailed it 💯!!! Vou tentar explicar: a idade dele (q já é avançada...) tb altera a voz dele, a tessitura (é como chama a região de notas vocais que se pode executar com qualidade e confortavelmente) dele diminuiu, e em especial pq qd era jovem gravava músicas em registros bem altos, n mantinha uma boa saúde (bebia e fumava mt, parece) e fazia muitos shows mundo afora, o q colaborou pro desgaste da voz dele, por isso hoje ela n tá mt preservada. Mas ainda assim é um excelente artista. 🤝🏽❤

From my own expierience. This has not so much to do with his age. He told in an interview once, that he has the genes of his father: His voice gets deeper by the age. That and 35 years on the road might be more the reason..

This is a fantastic performance but he actually does use a track to assist him on some high notes. Look at any performance of Livin on a prayer post 2017. He doesn't actually sing the high "Livin on a prayer" right before the solo. In some performances you can clearly see his mouth moving away from the mic and the note isn't done yet

Apparently Bon Jovi rarely ever performed this song live because it was so difficult on Jon’s voice. Killer effort on his part with this. He stayed in tune and nailed some really difficult notes. He still sounds amazing! A true professional!

So I applaud him being brave enough to not only admit it to us, but to himself. Kudos to Bon Jovi.

Agree. The extended solo at the end gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. And just love the fact that someone who has had a modest career as a hired gun now gets to play in one of the biggest bands in the world on some of the biggest stages. Yes I know the purests will go “he’s not Richie” but imo Phil is technically so much better and he’s now finding his place in Jovi and stamping his authority over the lead guitar role.
@@grazzak1972 Well Richie also had another value to the band with his voice. I saw the concert in Austria one month later and was amazed. Maybe because Jon knows his voice is weakening, but now they are much more a band and seem somehow closer than ever. You could also see it on the video wall, the core band members had quite a fair share on it. But not only this: it all felt more like a unit than ever and not just as like BJ and his band. Maybe this is one of the reason, they go on and on. They found more unitiy than ever.

Vou tentar explicar: a idade dele (q já é avançada...) tb altera a voz dele, a tessitura (é como chama a região de notas vocais que se pode executar com qualidade e confortavelmente) dele diminuiu, e em especial pq qd era jovem gravava músicas em registros bem altos, n mantinha uma boa saúde (bebia e fumava mt, parece) e fazia muitos shows mundo afora, o q colaborou pro desgaste da voz dele, por isso hoje ela n tá mt preservada. Mas ainda assim é um excelente artista. 🤝🏽❤

yes he is younger and getting better. Yes Jon and the boys like him, but Bon Jovi will never be the same without Richie. The way the songs are written and song. Bon Jovi is my favorite band, but Richie helped Jon out a lot with vocals..Jon has lost some of that.And you can tell. Saw them in Charlotte and you could really tell that the sound and feel just was not their. still a good show.

He did really good on this one. Honestly, anyone who says they didn’t like this is crazy. Sure maybe he can’t hit the notes he used to, but give him a break, he’s like sixty or something. Most people can’t sing this well at 18 or 20.
From my own expierience. This has not so much to do with his age. He told in an interview once, that he has the genes of his father: His voice gets deeper by the age. That and 35 years on the road might be more the reason..
