I am so amazed to see how almost all Sri Lankans smile, laugh and stay cheerful in vlogs with all the drama happening around in the country because of the corrupted politicians. The Sri Lankan traditional dance divides into main three categories ;
1. Kandyan - in Kandy
2. Pahatarata(Low country)- in Galle ,Hambanthota
3. Sabaragamu
and has it own speed practice from low speed to high speed/hard.
The all the dance traditions goes far way back to traditional history and it's mythology.
For a person (he/she) to dance they begins from early childhood and sometimes they further continue it like their profession. The dance need lot of practice and physical energy. So very hard to follow but it'll become fun because it's very challenging.
In public events like "Kandy Perahara" and other peraharas are full of these dances. They continue these events not only because of tourism attractions but also to worship Gods, to get the blessings for a good rain season, or for a protection from various strange obstacles , diseases or pandemics, and to celebrate past years blessings and harvesting we collect (mainly rice). So search more for Sri Lankan traditional dances it's more interesting. ✌❤
