What a great way and great instructions! I have the perfect fabric in my stash. I might just have to bumb up this project to the top of my to-sew list. Thank you so much! I. So glad i found you! 😊
Yes, as long as your armhole is the right size. Just make sure your shoulders sit in the right place and your armhole isn’t too high. You can follow my sleeve drafting tutorial if you want to make a pattern for one.
I guess you could taper the straps in very narrow. If in doubt, make a sample first. Wow, yes would be perfect for Mexico! How long have you been there now?
@creativebobbin42 thanks! We have been here since October 31st. Not back in Canada til March 11th. Miss my sewing machine and there are no nice fabric stores here in Huatulco
If you’re a standard size that might be easier, but once you get used to drafting, if you’re not a standard size you might find that drafting from scratch is quicker than adjusting a commercial pattern.
Thank you. You explain everything very nicely.

Merry Christmas Ali, I'm still in Mexico and this dress would be perfect here. Could I make it with shoestring straps?

@@kaymanuel7256 your sewing machine won’t know what’s hit it when you get back!
Just snip the seam allowance to prevent bulkiness
Easier to buy a pattern
You need to know your measurements, either way!
