I think if the ally and their men on their horses could penetrate deeper into the orcs, just like when Rohan charged in to aid in defending Minas Thirith, besides getting stuck behind each other, it would've gave me goosebumps just like in the movie.
Hi there my name is Logan Rue. i wonder how you guys do this alot. I bet it takes a long time to set this up with other people to. i bet it takes a long time to do by yourself. Keep up the good work. From Logan rue
In order to reach dol amroth, the orcs first have to get past osgiliath, minas tirith, lebannon, pelargir etc. They would have definetly been stopped in west osgiliath or minas tirith since marching further south would have been impossible with 10,000 orcs alone.
In the books, we know that the army that was defeated at Minas Tirith was not even the largest army Sauron had available to use. So, imagine with me: Sauron crosses the river with 100,000 orcs, massing his forces rather than sending recon in force as he did in the books. He does not try to take Minas Tirith by storm, as in the books, but instead leaves a sufficient force to closely invest it and moves downcountry, either overrunning or besieging any walled city or fortress he comes across to prevent any threat to his rear. The area being crossed is partly farmland, so if Sauron is campaigning in the fall like a smart guy, the orcs can live off the land to some degree. Furthermore, Sauron has an alliance with the corsairs of Umbar, who at various times in history have had naval superiority in the seas south of Gondor. It's not at all implausible to imagine a large force of orcs receiving resupply by sea in spite of anything the Gondor navy is able to do. And then, of course, orcs can eat civilians, prisoner, or, in a pinch, each other in addition to ordinary sources of food. If Gondor is unable to mass its full army to challenge the orcs to an open-field battle (especially, for example, if the King was on a state visit to his relatives in Dol Amroth at the time and Steward Faramir was killed in Ithilien in the very early stages of the campaign, leaving the mannish forces under only local control by feudal nobles), we could see this battle taking place, and the campaign, viewed from this point of view, is not at all implausible.
@@TheDeadThatLive this actually makes a whole lot more sense with the corsairs resupplying the orcs somewhere near the river or in pelargir. And just realized that Sauron wanted Aragorn more than Minas tiriths destruction. But if he so desired Aragorns death why would he think 10k orcs would be enough? Sure they may have numbers but they're insanely weak and smaller than a man. So i feel like he should have brought double the forces like 20 or 30k depending on how much he despised Isildurs heir.
@@TheDeadThatLiveLooks interesting but marching a 100 000 orc army out of Mordor would not go unnoticed. King Aragorn would hurry back to Minas Tirith the second they set foot outside of The Black Gate
The Knights of Dol Amroth and Gondor fight bravely, but there is one thing they don't use against the orcs in there defense. (Shieldwall) They must form a line formation and stick to shoulder to shoulder with their spears raised up. And they must keep the wall tight and do not break.🛡🛡🛡⚔️
Awesome video! Might be a dumb question but how do you play as Aragorn? I’m playing on the newest version of the mod but don’t see him in gondors roster
Why the orcs always out outnumbered the elves or the people that fighting them why y'all don't create more elves more soldiers to fight to order so wrong they always outnumber is not fair
Because the orcs aren’t like humans. They’re created ready to fight and they have no infancy nor pregnancy stages to go through, and they’re created by the hundreds of not thousands at a time. That’s why there’s so many orcs instead of men. Have you watched the lord of the rings to have an idea on how orcs are made by the scene with the Uruk-hai in two towers?
@@johnw3162 that's not entirely true you're confusing things. First of all, in the books, uruk-hai and orcs reproduce in the way of illuvatar (so insemination leading to pregnancy) and then in the movies it's true that uruk hais are produced in mud but thatls in the movies only. Regarding orcs, in the movie and the book, they reproduce (not shown or mentionned in the movie) but basically orcs are elves that were corrupted by Melkor's darkness. Eversince they recreated themselves and their offsprings kept the same features. So you're wrong.
In the Battle of Minas Tirith the Orcs outnumbered the Men by, roughly, 5:1 or 10:1. Then there were the Umbarans and Kharandians (or Southrons and Easterlings) to support them. In the movies the Grey Company (Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli) took the Umbaran ships with the help of the Army of the Dead and landed outside Minas Tirith and the Rohirrim arrived to attack the Orcs and the Mûmakil of the Khandians. In the game the Orcs are weak but have great numbers and the Men, Elves and Dwarves are, generally, good quality but lower numbers, similarly to the books.
As much as a love Lord of the Rings combat based games the tactics of the person leading are just to terrible to watch like why are Dol Amroths archers firing at armoured siege towers which does nothing to thin the enemy ranks and then they leave the depleted archer units on the walls to confront better armoured healthy orc units its just boring and when watching it you think more of an issue of an inept commander being the reason the city is falling rather than the desperation of an overwhelming force.
I'm actually controlling both sides at the same time with two different computers when making videos like this. It's damn hard to execute a perfectly realistic battle and make sure entertaining scenes happen. It's so much to have control of at the same time so making everything perfect and realistic is impossible
@@TotalWarFilms Yeah it probably is hard but the jankyness of the combat is also a big factor in the overall video. While a good presentation of the video is good it doesn't matter if the visuals cause the audience to break emersion. Idiocracy, Babylon V etc all have some pretty poor visuals but countered that with a coherent story with good structure. While your video may be very Aesthtically pleasing perhaps you could ask a member of one of the LOTR communities for assistance as or ask other creators who have created similar scenarios to yourself for some help and guidance?

They balance it by making the orc units weaker. So it's quality vs quantity.
