    Thanks for sharing those experiences.
Here in the UK, I used to be an early adopter of Buell motorcycles and often felt that I was helping to beta-test the Buell product range.
Once sorted, my 1997 M2 Cyclone gave great service but when my nearly new XB9R started to play up, I bugged out and traded it for a BMW.
I had a great relationship with my H-D/Buell dealer and with the UK importer.
But really, no amount of loan bikes and warranty spares can really compensate for having a duff bike.
All of my three Harleys (1990 XL883, 1987 FXRS-SP and 1990 FXRT) had their issues but once sorted were more dependable than my Buells.
Back then H-D was trying to use the Buell brand to increase its customer base, but the resulting bikes were over ambitious as design projects and under delivered in terms of development testing and ruggedness. I wonder if that history is to be repeated with the new Pans and Sportsters?

Sorry to hear that you’ve had such a problem with the PAS. I’ve got a’21 PAS and, so far, haven’t had a single problem with it. For me. It’s t’s been a really fun bike!

That's good to hear, my second bike has been perfect since Lind sorted the starting issue so hopefully it will continue. I'm taking it to the Austria Alps in September assuming it doesn't play up before I go.

I pre-ordered when they were first announced, then cancelled when it was delayed into the UK. Bought a new 1290S instead (18K trouble-free miles so far). I always wondered if I'd have been happier with the PanAm- thanks for clearing that thought up ;-) Anyhoo, fair play to LND for not making a drama out of a crisis.

It's a real shame as the bike is fantastic, hopefully its reputation will recover with time.

I thought about this bike, and very carefully considered it. I saw all the reviews. And bought a Triumph Tiger :)

I had a Tiger 800 XCX and a Scrambler 1200XC, both lovely bikes and the new 1200 Tiger will be a contender if the Pan Am goes wrong again.

I love Harleys (although perhaps not the Pan America quite so much) and just about any other motorbike. But I always tell people, if you are going to have to depend on it as your only transportation to and from work...buy a HONDA!

I guess that's true, I'm sure HD will get the reliability sorted out soon. Mine has been perfect for some time now so I'm hopeful it continues.
