Extra Steeplechase Trains on the Gladstone Branch Line

- On October 21, there were lots of extra trains on the Gladstone Branch Line due to the Far Hills Steeplechase. First I saw NJ Transit ALP-46A 4641 (Veterans Unit) pushing a train to the Gladstone Yard. Then ALP-45DP 4517 slowly rounded the bend leading a train to the Gladstone Yard. Shortly after 4517 passed, ALP-45DP 4513 pulls a train through Peapack Station. Just before 4513 clears the crossing, you can hear 4517 in the background entering the Gladstone Yard. Soon after 4513 rounded the bend down the line, ALP-45A 4558 pulled in slowly. 4513 needed to park on the mainline due to there being no room in the yard. 4558 was forced to park behind 4513. Then I went to a crossing and saw ALP-45DP 4504 (Marine Corps) pulling a train. Finally, I decided to see 4513 and all of the other trains parked in Gladstone.

marvellous and beautiful shot
Glad you enjoyed the captures
Thanks for the video. I road the train to several horse race tracks over the years. Years ago there were trains directly to Delaware Park just south of Wilmington, De. I also rode the old NJT Pony Express train to Monmouth Park when they had the siding that went right up to the grandstand. You still can take NJT. North Jersey to Monmouth Park but there no longer is a dedicated siding there now. I also have ridden the Belmont park trains on the Long Island Railroad as well as METRA trains that served the now closed Arlington Park in the Chicago area. The race trains are always interesting to see and in this case help keep many cars off the road to the race meet.
Glad you enjoyed the video. That's great you rode trains to different horse race tracks. Yes, it's always interesting to see these trains.

Yes, lots of extra trains there that day! Thanks for watching!
Awesome shots you got here man. I'm wondering why the ALP 45DP is in diesel mode rather than electric?
Glad you enjoyed the captures. I believe it was because there were many trains using the power in the overhead wires
@@kptrains oh wow, that is interesting and makes sense. Excellent video!
The alp45dps are supposed to be in electric mode not diesel mode
