- I’ve wanted to get the evening rush at my (NJ) home station of Red Bank for quite some time. I finally got to do so, and saw a lot of cool trains, including Conrail Shared Assets SA-31, ALP 46A 4636, and three ALP45As!
Enjoy!
06:42 CSX Freight Train.
Kind of. The train is part of Conrail Shared Assets, which is a local carrier and switching company for its contractors. CSX is one of those contractors, so I can only assume that CSX was the employer of this particular SA-31 (because of the locomotive). So yes, it is kind of a CSX freight.
@@thekamfanner conrail shared assets is owned by CSX and Norfolk Southern. They use both Norfolk Southern and CSX locomotives. But Norfolk Southern locomotives do not have PTC so they cannot run on the North Jersey coastline. That is why it’s a CSX engine.
I was wondering, how the conductor knows which door should be opened since the platforms are short? How do they know prior the arrival?
@@Malo-TheFlyingFrenchman if I had to guess, either there’s a standard for how many cars make the platform (ex: 7 cars make the platform so always open just 7) or the engineer lets them know prior. The former seems more likely than the latter.
Long busy rush hour. Got good video on both ends
Thank you!
Why did one of the trains not stop at red bank
It was an equipment move to New York. No passengers were on board.
Hello, I am currently making a mod for the game TSW, is there anyway I can use one of your bell sounds played in the video? I can credit you of course.
Yeah sure. It’s fine by me
Does NJT never run Arrows on this line?
They only run arrows as far as south Amboy because the electrification voltage is different after Matawan, and the arrows cannot switch voltages.
@thekamfanner they can switch voltages, but it would have to be done manually. Since it's a pain in the ass, they don't run Arrows west of South Amboy, however, they can run to Aberdeen-Matawan since the voltage change is slightly west of Matawan.
@@AaronTheEagle1 yes, you’re right. It can be done manually, it’s just very inconvenient which is why they don’t do it. Thanks.
