I was A company 7-159th Aviation in Illesheim from Jan. 1989 to July 1992 as a Black Hawk helicopter mechanic and my Squad leader was the Late Rick Lietzau. Stayed in the Army from 1988 to 2008 and to this day still on Black Hawks as a Govt. Aircraft Quality Assurance Specialist on our Black Hawk maintenance program. Personally I like that we went digital compared to the old days of paper. This summer will year 37.
Wow! Thank you for your service. That’s a hell of a career, you must really have a passion for the Blackhawk and army aviation. Are you working in Virginia?
I really appreciate this interview. Very interesting hearing how it was. Dad joined as ATC in 1983 and spent 28 years at every level in the Brigade. Always enjoy hearing him talking about it much like this fella
