I've got 2 shinies this event so far: a random shiny caterpie and a shiny smeargle on the 3rd day 4th snapshot. And doing snapshots with a non shiny smeargle works because I got the shiny smeargle on my 2nd snapshot of a non shiny smeargle
I did 33 snapshots and finally got it! The official info does have it with the odds of 1/64 so woohoo for boosted odds. I love Smeargle's Shiny.

Those squirrels are used to people cos they’re city squirrels. Country animals generally are much more skittish.

Haha... just opened the game as I started watching this video, took a snapshot of my buddy just for kicks, and the resulting Smeargle was shiny. First snapshot during the event. Completely forgot about it until I queued up the video. Terrible IVs, but I was walking a recently evolved Sneasler, so the Smeargle ended up with Poison Jab and X-scissor - which I feel like should be fast as all heck as a combo.

I think it was in 2019 when there was an update that allowed you to simply press the run button without having to do that stupid trick. I remember using it during a community day. It was removed in the following update. I'm still pissed about it.

Taking a snapshot of smeargle to get the shiny actually works. I was doing my shiny checks and the first snapshot I took of smeargle I got a shiny.
I had a Shiny Giratina in Pokémon GO! a few years ago but I transferred her to Pokémon HOME.
I believe she was a Shiny Hundo as well!

The only way to get one is to send a postcard a total of 5 days, but it doesn't have to be in a row.

The blog post about the event and lures from the get go said the gold lures were not 3 hours so I’m not sure why you didn’t know this before you made the video. Even the graphic had a picture of a no go on the golden lure.
