I gave my 2 weeks at a job that didn't require it both as a courtesy because, while the higher ups were incompetent knobheads and the job was awful, I liked my shift managers and didn't wanna screw them over. The extra money woulda been nice too. They just didn't schedule me for my notice period, and no one replied to my notice, which I was told to give via email. No point tbh
in general any contract that requires you to give 2 weeks notice is uninforcable anyways. what are they gonna do, fire you? in "right to work" states, those contracts are downright illegal anyways. jobs are allowed to fire you without notice or reason, so you can quit without notice or reason too.

Also he's playing it up for the camera he knows is recording. Some people are just cool under pressure. I look at other companies similar to ours. I get stats. I take a nap. *burp* I crunch some numbers - and if the figures show it's only humanly possible for one person to complete, say, ten projects a week... I double it. And that becomes your new quota: twenty projects per week. Simple. Of course it's impossible, that's the whole point - gotta keep you on edge. $16/hr to be part of a toxic working environment starting at 7am sounds ridiculously bad
I make less than that and I start at 3am 💀 and still get called lazy by people older than me by virtue of being Gen Z even though it's a warehouse environment with a bunch of heavy lifting, lol. The job market and work experience is awful right now no matter where you are it seems, I wish it would change
My work environment was very solid until the boss changed. Instead of having a relaxed environment where we can take breaks when needed (it was mostly landscaping during the summer in the south so breaks were definitely needed more than once per task), a fixed schedule, and a boss we could actually converse with, to an environment where nothing is good enough. If you did anything that management didnt tell you to do it was an instant write up. They changed the schedule all the time and wouldn't tell me and then accused me of lying when i told them i never got one and when i tried explaining myself i still got written up and the big boss threatened to fire me over it like what the fuck do you want me to do. If you took a break and Management didn't know and you didn't clock out it was a write up. We're not leaving to take breaks btw, a break for us would be just sitting on the side of the road and drinking some water.

No no no no no, wrong wrong wrong.
It's come to my attention that you're not measuring up. You'll need to stay late, again. With no overtime. Your project has to be completely redone.
You can't seem to do anything right.
Oh, I'm- I'm gonna have to write you up again, too. You're just not measuring up. That's three more demerits this week.
Did you get the memo about the pay cut? 10% across the board. We've gotta cut back, it's the bottom line, you see.
And your insurance co-pays? Yea, they're going up. Better tighten your belt. We're merging with a bigger company. There's gonna be one flavor ice cream, one brand of coffee, one car.
There's twenty people waiting for your job. One-third of Americans work for less than $8.50 an hour, get used to it. Be happy with what you've got. You'll have to play catch-up on the weekend, with no overtime pay of course. You're not meeting your quota.
What's that, you say? The quota is impossible to meet? Duh! Here's how it works: I sit in my office - my corner office, and I do some simple math.
We'll give you some malarkey about setting the bar high, meeting goals et cetera but that's not the real reason. We gotta keep you in fear. Fearful people develop low self-esteem. Thus, they'll never ask for a raise.
What, you want a raise?
Give this man a raise somewhere that he will actually enjoy working at. Bravo.🙌 👏
