Man, that yellow Camaro must've been hypnotizing to look at back in '82! Those Pro Stocks growl so angrily at the line! Classic pro stock is the best! Thanks for the upload!
My best friend and I built so many Reher-Morrison models, and we'd pretend we were racing. My friend would put a Top Fuel axle and slicks under his because he thought the slicks with the model were too small. Those huge slicks did look good tucked in there.
February 7th, 1982 Winternationals in Pomona. Great race, awesome weekend there with friends and family. Got to hang in the pits with John Angeles and his Super Stock Firebird. Thanks for the video my friend, good stuff indeed. 👍 👍
Any chance we can get some great footage of the greatest class in drag racing history, competition eliminator. I'd love to see some of the heros like John Lingenfelters or Richie Bourkes awesome index crushing A/ED dragsters or Vinnie D's or Jerry Haas revolutionary 63 Corvettes . It's the class where real engineering masterpieces battle it out for supremacy. Thank you
I love the engine sound of the early Pro stocks!! If I could ever build or drive a classic pro stock It would have to sound and drive just like it did (modern safety equipment OfCourse) back then! why make a replica and not have the proper powerplant or shifter/gearbox! Keep the videos coming!
I loved watching old WJ get his ass kicked by Bob Glidden. Warren would get all puffed up like a bullfrog and didn't want to talk to any of the sports casters.
I have a hard time watching drag racing today, the Pro Stock class with all Camaros does nothing for me they need to bring back vintage Pro Stock to the NHRA still running the Liberty transmissions in the four-barrel carburetors Ford Pontiac Chevrolet Oldsmobile AMC dodge they should add that to the NHRA. I think it would bring more fans, it bring me back that's for darn sure.
God I miss these cars. So tactile to drive, so violent leaving the line. These were the days when a small group of hardworking, blue-collar guys could field a competitive car. No more.
I sure miss the glory days of ProStock. These videos bring back lots of memories. Thanks👍👍

The second vedio I really enjoyed on Bob and Lee. Two of the best.

Some of the best days of ProStock!
How dare I forget Bob Books earth rotating A/D that I literally drove 14hrs to see race and it was totally worth the drive
Lee shepherd was a fantastic driver and never bragged about it in anyway what a great Texan
And he ported the heads, too. Losing Lee was a big blow to Reher and Morrison.

That was so much fun back when everyone had to make their own stuff and it was truly a battle of wits. t
Thanks for posting. Got any more?

Ole Warren always had the performance but couldn't drive.thanks for making a race nuts day.
Yeah. Even WJ is modest about his driving. But he has 91 national event wins, he must have been pretty good.
I’m pretty sure the professor had 98 wins
I just love these older pro stock cars!!!
Thanks for sharing!
Sure is great looking back.
The yellow third gen Camaro is killer. Had a red 88 IROC with a stroked 5.7.
Great content, those were the days.
Real deal drag racing!
No computers.
Love to see anything from Fremont!

They need a revival today. Its so boring. But they dont even look like the car theyre supposed to be anymore. Pro Stock was always my favorite class.
Great expectations
Not one current car looks anywhere near as badass as the older "real" cars.

who in pro stock is not running a liberty currently?
Great stuff. Says 1982 . Did Reher Morrison not run a 3rd gen Camaro that season? I watched Maskin and Hoskins at dart build pro stock engines at dart
Yea, 500 ci, and 2350 LBS., but what about the 108" wheelbase vs. the 98" wheelbase? That's why the NHRA, later, changed rules some more.
Pro stock 💙❤️
RIP Orange County Raceway
Those were the good old days when you never knew who actually won until the lights came on

Frank drove good
Run like wind
That blew the girls skirts up
Lee's son looked like he wanted to push Bob to the ground for shoving dad.
I wonder if this was pre Nitrous Glidden ?
Bob Glidden didn't run nitrous
That myth is just that... a myth. Ford haters always making excuses for Bob's domination with the blue oval.
He ran out talent is what happened
