Please note NHRA: Videos like this help promote the class. The more you know, the greater the interest. I have a suggestion. Have the cars back into the pits, so the fans can see the engine being worked on. Some of us like the mechanical part of the sport more than the actual race. Thanks for the video Total Seal team, and especially Mr. Hartford.
Tons of respect to Matt Hartford. I have never seen a team take the time to put school in session, especially on the Liberty trans. I have one for the N/A 10.5 car, with Prusiensky Hemi power, I am building for the 2021 season. Was worried about getting in to the thing, but you have given me some insight and a starting point. Thank you. If the NHRA makes to Pomona, I will see you run there. Thank you again. Lets a starting point of weights and a basic kit for the clutch, that a new team should have.
Matt is just a Super Guy!!! Combine that with Joe's enthusiasm... NHRA needs more of this! I am a long-time racer since the early 1960s. Been in Comp, off and on since the 80's. Matt has the heart of a teacher... patient, calm, understanding and a passion! And he is right here in our town... Phoenix, The Valley of Sun... and Matt really shines! And we are customers of Total Seal since forever! Great work Matt Hartford... and Joe!!! (Joe is from my home state of Florida)👍👍
I love hearing what Matt said (inline w/ what Joe was talking about) and I'm paraphrasing a bit; "Everyday you can learn something from somebody, because everyone has some sort of knowledge that you don't have" that is something I have always lived by and share with people, super awesome to hear!! Mega respect to you guys.. super insightful... I just felt I needed to add that to the comments :)
Heck yeah a long video!!!! Thank you guys!!!!!! You guys definitely needed a good combination of 5 to 10 minute videos and 30+ minute videos! It always bummed me out when the videos were less than a minute, etc. GREAT video!!!
Incredible. Thank you for this step-by-step tutorial. I’ve long been intimidated by transmissions but now they make sense. Matt is an exceptional teacher.
This video is AWESOME!! :) Thank you so much, Matt and Joe! Automotive engineering is fascinating, yet much of it (especially in NHRA drag racing) can be a mystery. Thank you for the informative tech session - really enjoyed and learned a lot from it! Looking forward to watching more videos! :)
Great Video! And Congrats to Matt and the now "multi time" (2) NHRA Event winning Total Seal Pro Stocker Team on their Seattle Win!!! And stopping Greg Anderson on a WesternSwingSweep!! Ouch lol ... I predict many more wins in this teams future!
This was amazing! Think about this: A wheelie bar adjustment can affect an ET. A gear change can affect ET. A thousand little things can. I just saw the entire Pro Stock field at the 2024 Gatornationals was within 43 thousandths of a second.
I would love to see you guys assemble an entire pressure plate..it could just be that...or go on to installing the pack and zeroing it out, etc. as well. That might be tricky to not show the weight you're using or the amount of base..but an entire pressure plate assembly would be really cool!
This is what ya will never get from guy's going "LEFT" sorry nascar not libtards.. i digress this is whats awsome about 1/4 mile guys they are not keeping the most important part of the racing hid. The car is the as important as the driver and other motor sports i feel forget that and thank you for showing us just what makes it go and go fast ...keep educating us thank you....!!!!!
George Beeson I agree completely. But nascar fans are mostly a different demographic. The typical nascar fans may like cars, but most don’t work their own cars like NHRA fans do. It’s not my opinion, that’s coming from research data paid for by advertisers. Nascar fans are more in line with NFL fans, than NHRA.
Love these videos since pro stock was the black magic of NHRA but they could use someone a little less timid. I’m surprised he didn’t send a snap ring flying across the room
Very Educational...Building a $ummit-Stopping Trans! And A HUGE THANKS for Stopping Darth (Ken) Black's Multi-Car Team & "Team Dark$ide" (Ander$on & Dive & The "Data Cars")! Much Continued Success!!!!
Matt, is calm, patient, and encouraging, a sign of a great teacher. I learned enough for a couple of days. All I can same is, make more videos.
Great to learn myself, while watching you learn.

Matt you've got the patience of a saint , Go Joe .
As a gear-head, these are the best vids on RUclips. Thank you.
Great vid! I can't get enough of these technical hands on vids. Matt and Joe do a great job too.

Your videos have made me a fan. Mission accomplished.

Designed just like a twin counter shaft truck transmission. Good video guys!!!
One of the best drag racing related videos I have ever seen, and it doesn't even have a car in it.
It amazes me, that all that power goes through that tiny clutch pack.
Omg 26 years building race cars and owning repair shops, it's really cool to see some improvised tools and moves even in pro stock haha.
What a Nice vídeo from nhra, thanks for the content, teatche and also A Jornalista...
Ty for sharing this and why I'm a fan of Matt's.

This was super informative. Great job guys and thanks to Total Seal, the world's best piston rings! I'm a big believer in them, free hp!
Great video. Will be doing some gear changes in my liberty and now I have something to go by. Thanks.
4 link and shock adjustments. Let Joe warm it up! 🤘
Excellent Video!!!
All Great Stuff Just keep it Going thumbs up for Total Seal and NHRA if some is good Moore is better Thanx Again
Keep em coming!!!! 4 link adjustment, third member swap, maybe even mounting a tire?!
Great video. I learned alot about pro stock. I wish I could apprentice with this team
Great video! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you!
A video on differential will be cool to see
Awesome ! a long video ! so much better than those 1 min vids !
I used to hang out with Matt's uncle . I met Matt once , he was about 1 year old .
Really like these videos.

i've always wanted to see a live tear-down and rebuild of a nitro car. post that.
Go hit up one of the low-buck teams, they'll probably let you help out =)
There’s several nitro tear down and rebuild videos on RUclips if you search around a bit👍
@@ccraig4247 in real time is what i meant.

Great video guys! #ihatesnaprings, #proannouncer
Wow I didn't know Dad Shepard knew how to build pro stock transmissions. 😆
Are those shafts gun drilled?
Joe has office worker hands
He probably wipes them 100 times while working on 1 trans.
The people that created that system r definitely old school gear heads.
Or new school. Passion for racing
If time allows
I can bust brake shoes on a semi truck trailer in 18 wheeler in under an hour and a half
Low or high paying job, experience provailes
great video
