Well, George R.R.Martin very recently gave a glowing review of my songs on his website blog. We've been talking in emails as well about my music etc and he is the loveliest guy. The actual producers etc, haven't seen anything ( well, not that i'm aware of ) but who knows. Something could still come about. :-)
That's amazing! And well-deserved. I've been listening to your songs for years now; the Game of Thrones ones were among the first and they are still spell-binding. Kind of a pity that (to my knowledge?) none of your songs was used in the show, but one thing for certain: I'm seeing much better feed-back for your songs than for the final season ): D: ):
The Lannisters think they have won, but Starks still draw breath. The Wolves have lost their father, their mother, and a brother, but the pack survives. The North always remembers.
+TheDarkSider What about the giants who have broken their chains , giants they call Jons . Very good in a fight , or a drinking match , Or the mermaid , the stag , or even Spear of The South and the Greenblood for which winter never reaches? Lesser Houses with Grow and Lessen , same goes for houses which are great .
Wolves are the greatest creatures of the land. You can hound them, beat them, drive them into the hills. But as long as they live, they never will yield, never break and they always remember. And when you think you are safe in your home, cuddled up to your fires from the cold winter's night. That's when the pack returns and the last thing you'll hear, is the song they sing upon the winds.
Unless you were LEFT to the Wolves as a Child .. and the Wolves made you one of their own .. then when you are curled up it's In the Den WITH the Wolves!!
This suites Catelyn's state perfectly. She was so heartbroken and numb from all the pain by Ned's death and the belief of all her children being dead. I remember when I finished reading this chapter in "A Storm of Swords" how much I was shaking and then later turned numb. All the tragedies that follow after the Red Wedding are nothing compared to that cold deceit. Nothing.
That was indeed the inspiration, that line still gives me shivers when I look back on that scene. The desperation is so heart-wrenching especially as it's falling on deaf ears.
I was watching Richard during the whole scene when it went down; as a book reader you really look to see if they captured the feeling of the scene. You'll note that all this chaos is going down and he's just dying there taking Talisa's last words and then regressing into himself when she finally dies. When he got up and said nothing but "mother" you can tell he was broken, the trauma reduced him and stripped him of his pride and title and he was a boy again. A very powerful scene.
I am, in fact, a huge fan of Game of Thrones, and I remember the emotional anguish of this moment better than I actually want to. :P But the only thing I could think about as I sat and listened to this song over and over was the Holocaust, actually. I just recently went to the Holocaust memorial in the remains of the concentration camp Dachau, outside Munich, and this, however unintentional, is an incredible portrait of the anguish and despair of that place. Incredible, heart-wrenching - a song well-written, and beautifully sung. I thank you for it.
Let It End By Karliene And who are you, The proud lord said, That I must bow so low? Only a cat of a different coat, That's all the truth I know. Let it end! Wipe the blood from steel Let it end! Let the heartsick heal Let it end! Let our children know, It's the end! Let them see no more Bloodshed (x 2) Let it end! Let the feuding die Let it end! We're so tired of this Bloodshed (x 2) Let it end! The rains weep o'er his hall Let it end! With not a soul to hear Let it end! The rains weep o'er his hall Let it end! With not a soul to hear Let it end! The rains weep o'er his hall Let it end! With not a soul to hear Let it end! The rains weep o'er his hall Let it end! With not a soul to hear Let it end! (x 3)
Wow. I'm in tears. Hearing you sing "Bloodshed" with the string melody in the background and the images at 1:20-1:35 and 1:52-2:07 was heartbreaking. Whenever you sing the lyric "let it end," the way you start out low,go up and back down again, it gets me every time. The music, lyrics, and images matched perfectly. I heard this soft, yet desperate plea in your voice that captured the tragedy of the Red Wedding. You really know how to tug at peoples' heartstrings. Just....Wow.
Such a heartbreakig song, and how beautifully rendered...Especially on nights like this it stirs up a lot of emotions. It is high time the bloodshed ended
This song came up in my RUclips mix. It's not one of my favourites...but it fits the recent events much too perfectly( R.I.P. poor French and Russian people...
This song hit me right in the feels. I miss Robb and Catelyn so much! Thankfully, Arya came back and beat them into the ground. It felt like karma coming back around.
This really is beautiful. I've been listening to it on repeat while working on my story and just cant stop hitting repeat. You have such a beautiful, passionate voice.
Karliene, we absolutely love this song and are extremely grateful to you for letting us feature it on our Catelyn/Red Wedding podcast. Best wishes to you for continued success! Cheers- LG & YB
the sadness the musi and the scenes express is so crushing... just look at their faces... how they get along with the fact that all is over and how they accept their fate... its so psychologically revealing
There's a few things they missed in the series, for example they killed Robbs wife where in reality she should not even have been at the wedding + pregnant hence.. well a living child = Stark. That's the only thing I could think of when I watched the red wedding x_x
Toxic Gin actually her name in the books is Jane Westerling and her mother made sure to get rid of the child while Jane still had it her womb...sorry to dissapoint you but there is no Stark child
Watching Ned meet his sudden end was jolting. Witnessing Catelyn in all her terrible anguish at the Red Wedding was beyond heart-wrenching and nearly intolerable. And of course, she was the first character to realize what was occurring. I was so glad I'd read the books ahead of time at the end of the first televised season. Michelle Fairley as as Catelyn gave the scene a depth and terror I've rarely seen on film. Thanks so much for creating this stunning eulogy to that moment in G.O.T.
It was one of the most emotional things I think I've ever watched on tv, I loved it though because it so inspired me to write this song. I'm so happy you liked it. Thanks so much for coming to check it out. x
You can tell Martin's been primarily motivated by a fascination with history. You look it up (history) on wikipedia and you constantly see different families/houses ruling places over the years. It's the incessant question: "but what happened to those other guys?" that led to the epic about the wiping out of houses. And the fighting back against it.
Omg I cried watching this. Beautiful! Love that you were able to compose and entire song with just that one line that Catelyn says to Walder Frey. Beautiful
2:36 my heart broke. After watching this episode a few months ago I never watched it again. I still can't believe it actually happened and now I find myself still crying my eyes out, the way Robb looks over to his mother is just heartbreaking. This song is beautiful and fits the scene perfectly, I love your voice.
This is so beautifull, I just watched the episode and it was so emotional, your song gives me the same emotions. I can listen at it over and over again. Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Belgium but I just wanted to say how I love your songs.
Mayssa Brinis Viserys was a cunt. Shame he didn't pass on his invaluable genetic material before he died, but he died nonetheless. Not every Targaryen is great, some are mad. Like Aerion Brightflame and Aerys Targaryen and Maegor the Cruel, but the list of great Targs is much longer than the list of mad ones.
Its a best piece of art i hear in my life - i really want to hear it in series - it sound like it was just there on that hall to the and of Red Wedding. I really love you for this Karliene.
Aww thank you so much, yeah I'm actually run a small video editing business so i'm lucky that I can do it all myself from recording to editing. I'm so glad you like it, thank you for noticing that part of it all .X
Your music from GoT and Vikings is providing an amazing playlist for a bard that I have in several of my Dungeons and Dragons games. Fantastic compositions, arrangements and performances. Thank you!
Im from denmark, was visiting scotland back in 2007 and fell in love, your lore, history, people everything.. so all scotsmen have a special place in my heart and you voice just make me travel back in time to me standing on isle of sky near the cliffs and feeling the wind and rain on my face... thank you so much.. subed faved and loved!
I discovered Dreams of Fire on Spotify; While the entire album is utterly fantastic, this track in particular completely floored me, doubly so because Catelyn was far from my favorite character the last decade and a half. Well done. Well done indeed.
Yeah pretty much, I took screencaps and then edited them together with some effects and overlays. It looks pretty simple but it was actually quite a long process - especially editing, colouring and sharpening all the images in photoshop first. I was happy when it was over, lol
God! it's so breathtaking! i love how you combine ''Rains of Castemere'' with your song. it gives such an emotional meaning. and ''rains weep over THIS hall''. thank you for this, Karliene! i literally am grateful for this song :c
It's very curious, coming here, 7 years after publishing. People have such strong emotions. Very curious. I started watching the show two years before it was over and I have not seen such fight with the fans. It seems, as if the emotion just died with time.
Aww thanks, I think someone else was saying they didn't like it but to be honest, I don't really think much when I sing, I zone out and try to feel the words and the story. I sometimes change my vowels a bit to make a prettier sound. So happy you liked the song. Thank you so much for coming to listen. :-)
At first - you have amazing voice! While listening to this I totally heard Catelyn shouting "Let it end!" to Frey. I got goosebumps and started to cry... That scene was so horrible and this song so beautiful... Thank you Karliene for all epic songs you make. You're great.
I love how you used the start of Rains of Castamere for this song! Your voice was haunting in the song- and I felt tears come to my eyes much like they did when I watched the actual episode. Your lyrics are beautiful and have a level of eloquence that many 'popular' songs from today just lack, and eloquence just really adds to a song and voice. Have you heard of a song called Fear Not This Night? I've recently heard it and just think that it would suit your voice perfectly.
You're consistently my favourite underground artist, Karliene. Your art is much appreciated by more than you know. Thank you for sharing your talents with us, as always.
This song is just perfect. It's so beautiful, deep and full of emotions, I can't stop listening to it. Every single time it starts on my playlist, my mind just runs wild. No chance for writers block...
I intentionally didnt watch this right after the release because the feelings still were very fresh. Now I've watched this for the first time and still had goosebumps. Bravo.
Incredible. Your original lyrics mixed with "The Reynes" make for a haunting tribute. This song stirs up so many emotions in me. Most of all, your voice really encapsulates the despair of the moment. That's just dust in my eye...
This song is so beautiful, and it really touches my heart. The words and the visuals, and most importantly the way you sing with passion in your voice, actually reduced me to tears. Thank you for making such beautiful songs.
The way you sing "bloodshed" is giving me such shivers 0_0 I can't find the words to how beautiful, tragic, emotional, and downright PERFECT this song is.
This song have all the power and the sadness... all the tears that the Red Wedding gave me when a read and when a see it on the series. Just wonderfull!
Wow, what a lovely compliment. Thank you so, so much. I put a lot into making this song so I'm just thrilled people have taken to it, it's never something I expect, when I upload a new song I get a knot in my stomach and feel kinda ill till I know if people like it or not. Your kind words mean the world to me - i know i say that a lot in my comments but it's true. Thank you. x
And then came Chapter 26, the most important chapter of the book. Of all the songs I turned to, it was this . . . Once in a while there comes a chapter which changes an author. Chapter 26 is one of them . . . Thanks for helping me through this. I haven't started typing it, but I'm already shaking.
I love how you intergrate sections of The Rains Of Castamere, it almost feels as if you're giving two perspectives. I'm still shook up from that episode. Love all your songs!
Ooh, Karliene, this gave me such chills. Not only do you have an amazing voice, but you're a very talented song writer as well. This was beautiful and haunting, and just captured the moment perfectly. Brilliantly done
No, it's lovely to have so much interest. I need to dedicate a good few weeks to finishing it and writing another few songs - i've been so busy these past few weeks that i'm struggling to make time - I do hope to have something in the next few months. I'll be announcing it on my channel so stay tuned. X
Definitely I prefer your interpretation of this song compared to your version of "The rains of Castamere" Your singing is more powerful and intense with the sadness reflected through your words.
I watched RW today after weeks of knowing what would happen and agonizing over it- I brought the tissue box with me but my eyes stayed bone dry. I just couldn't bring myself to care. This finally brought the tears.
So well done! I remember saying those exact words as the camera focused in on Catelyn......I just wanted the damn episode to end........ But it didn't.... Great job. You gave me chills, Karliene!
This song gave me strength during my divorce from my ex-husband with Borderline Personality Disorder . My gratitude made me join your Patreon. Thank you Karliene.
Well, George R.R.Martin very recently gave a glowing review of my songs on his website blog. We've been talking in emails as well about my music etc and he is the loveliest guy. The actual producers etc, haven't seen anything ( well, not that i'm aware of ) but who knows. Something could still come about. :-)
That's very interesting, coming back seven years later to hear of this... I don't imagine any fruit had come out of such interactions.
Hélas! 7 years latter... :(
Yeah!!! Quality will not be denied!!
😎🤘
That's amazing! And well-deserved. I've been listening to your songs for years now; the Game of Thrones ones were among the first and they are still spell-binding. The Lannisters think they have won, but Starks still draw breath. The Wolves have lost their father, their mother, and a brother, but the pack survives. The North always remembers.
Joey Fredrickson Dead men tell no tales, Stark. Here me roar.
+Marc Hindley The roar of a lion is that of a mewling kitten next to the roar of a dragon.
TheDarkSider Dragon fire is not to be underestimated; even wolves and their winter can burn.
Dragon fire eh , is this fire controlled?
Do these dragons , are they many , are they strong and great as the Ballerion?
Wolves are the greatest creatures of the land. You can hound them, beat them, drive them into the hills. But as long as they live, they never will yield, never break and they always remember. Damn it... the feels :'(
The Game of Thrones producers really need to hire you, Karliene! :)
That was indeed the inspiration, that line still gives me shivers when I look back on that scene. The desperation is so heart-wrenching especially as it's falling on deaf ears.
Rest in peace, Robb Stark-the Young Wolf and true King in the North!
Ah, yes, a recent comment.
Omg.. Robert Stark.. My hero, and a very caring mother. How much must this famely suffer :(
Very lovly song, strong as allways
The scene was the sadest moment of the whole story but your song makes it even more beautiful.
I was watching Richard during the whole scene when it went down; as a book reader you really look to see if they captured the feeling of the scene. Just discovered this from radio westeros. Such a beautiful, haunting song

The Lannisters won the battle, but the war will continue as long as a Stark draws breath...The North will always remember.

Aww thank you so much for waiting and purchasing. I'm so happy you're still enjoying it, that makes me smile. :-)
Heard Karliene's voice one time and was hooked not only that, she's beautiful.
pls don't let this end .. music reaches a whole other level of understanding when you feel what u'r supposed to only hear ^^
Lady Stoneheart!
In fact there will be no Lady Stonehart in serial.
yeah. its kinda sad. it was michelle fairley who said it herself.
Yup. I was sad when I heard about it. It was my favourite character in book.
There's a few things they missed in the series, for example they killed Robbs wife where in reality she should not even have been at the wedding + pregnant hence.. well a living child = Stark. That's the only thing I could think of when I watched the red wedding x_x

OMIGOD THIS IS THE PERFECT INSPIRATION MUSIC TOLISTEN TO WHILE WRITING THE STORY I AM WRITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song should be in the soundtrack of the Show. This beautifully done, keep up the great work Karliene.
This is so beautifull, I just watched the episode and it was so emotional, your song gives me the same emotions. I can listen at it over and over again.
Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Belgium but I just wanted to say how I love your songs.
This song captures that scene absolutely beautifully...stunning song that always give me chills
Oh Robb why? My one true king, this hurts so bad
House Targaryen laughs in your general direction.
Daniel Griff house Targaryen is nothing without Dragons
Mayssa Brinis
House Targaryen ARE Dragons, little one.
Viserys would beg to differ

Winter is coming for the Lannisters, Freys and Boltons.
Roose Bolton is immortal, he cannot die.
Only to be melted by the East Wind...
OmegaOprah hah wrong
Im from denmark, was visiting scotland back in 2007 and fell in love, your lore, history, people everything.. so all scotsmen have a special place in my heart and you voice just make me travel back in time to me standing on isle of sky near the cliffs and feeling the wind and rain on my face... thank you so much.. subed faved and loved!
No, don't let this beautiful music never end. Please.
Ahhh I forgot what depression felt like, thank you for the reminder :)
wooooah... From the very first word, I got chills and started crying because your voice is soooo sweet. I am in love with your voice! Beautiful!
Omg ... simply awesome.
and your song would bring the whole even more wauw :o
At first - you have amazing voice! While listening to this I totally heard Catelyn shouting "Let it end!" to Frey. I got goosebumps and started to cry... That scene was so horrible and this song so beautiful... Thank you Karliene for all epic songs you make. You're great.
Everytime, when I turn on this, I have eyes full of tears... and I cry. Your voice and this video... I just can't. It's amazing.

The North Remembers! Arya Stark Remembers!!
I loved having Castamere underneath.....it was beautiful!
Aww you're so kind, i'm thrilled you liked it. Thank you. x
The feuding should never end before all the Freys are dead!
and who says they won't ... ? it only takes 1 man ... walder frey - if he dies rest of freys will kill each other
There's multiple Walders in that familiy though, but I believe that you are right.
secuter lol u know that i ment the old ferrot
Haha yeah I know :P
Your voice with the scenes makes me feel the way you did in your reaction video to the rains of Castamere. Such a tragic and emotional moment.
I intentionally didnt watch this right after the release because the feelings still were very fresh. Now I've watched this for the first time and still had goosebumps. Bravo.
I love the extra darkness....
After the thrill...
I am not sure where my head is. I have rifled through the memories of a past rapidly vanishing amid the new stimulations I have accepted as part of my small dark world. I am unaccustomed to the voices so angelic in nature having spent long years among the growls and groans of a prefabricated environment, I am problem solving to piece together the fragmented constants of an accepted reality. There are states of consciousness unexplainable to even the most seasoned minds and they are folding and overlapping into this current reality. I find myself drifting between these shared realities and they are borderless begging the question: “Are they real at all?” It has been a struggle to maintain a balance between real “real life” and “fake real life“… I know right. I bounce from meaningful conversation to conversation, in each finding things pleasing, comforting, and necessary, and then comes the parting. I am always curious to see how lasting the conversation is and how much impact was still felt after a night or day of sleep and then I wonder…what happens in their real “real lives” while they are away. How many have husbands and wives sitting in the same room oblivious to their conversations or how many are just looking to use me like a tool until I am worn down and vulnerable and then spring the trap. How many placate me because the alcohol was a little too free flowing, the night was a little too lonely, the pain was a little too prevalent. I wonder about many things. I am often confronted with “is this you sinking into that black hole again?” I do not really fucking know how to answer that except affirmatively. Why not? It is a good answer in a pinch. I get so easily overwhelmed by the negativity and cynicism that I just want to sit in a corner, be very still and quiet until they take me to a place where I can live medicated and free of the burden of decision-making and consequences. Yes, that is a cop out but apathy is much less painful and freedom is highly overrated to one who has so little control of themselves. I must contain the madness lest it manifest into some horror devoid of conscience. Sadly, someone out there knows exactly what I am talking about...

This song is so beautiful, and it really touches my heart. The words and the visuals, and most importantly the way you sing with passion in your voice, actually reduced me to tears. Thank you for making such beautiful songs.
Your music is not only filled with tunes and brilliant singing but with overwhelming feelings! Your work could brim Tywin's eyes with tears!
The way you sing "bloodshed" is giving me such shivers 0_0 I can't find the words to how beautiful, tragic, emotional, and downright PERFECT this song is.
OH NO. It hurts. Oh man. This is beautiful and I'm about to burst into tears!
Soooo amazing song dramatic nostalgic and amazing. Keep a good work. 🥰
This song have all the power and the sadness... all the tears that the Red Wedding gave me when a read and when a see it on the series.
Just wonderfull!
So happy you liked it. X
Thank you. x
Absolutely beautiful. This song brings a tear to my eye every time. You are truly an amazing singer, Karliene.
I really enjoy the thought behind incorporating Rains of Castamere into the lyrics, since it is such a keystone to the event.
Damn this made me cry. You have a great voice.
This song is so powerful. Somehow I like it more than almost any other song I've ever heard. P.s. your singing voice and pronunciation are gorgeous.
Aww thanks so much Anthony. x
Oh thank you so much, i'm so happy you like it. I've also got my debut album coming out on November 5th if you like more of this. :-)
Ooh, Karliene, this gave me such chills. Not only do you have an amazing voice, but you're a very talented song writer as well. This was beautiful and haunting, and just captured the moment perfectly. Brilliantly done
It's like im in heaven hearing an angel singing this song for me. So peaceful! Love your voice. x
Fabulous music and song ! Wonderful work and mystic feeling !
I'm so glad you picked up on that, i didn't think anyone would get that, haha.
Fantastic! thank you so much .xx
No, it's lovely to have so much interest. I need to dedicate a good few weeks to finishing it and writing another few songs - i've been so busy these past few weeks that i'm struggling to make time - I do hope to have something in the next few months. I'll be announcing it on my channel so stay tuned. X
Thank you so much, i'm so happy you like it. x
Gosh, that was just so heart wrenchingly sad. Beautiful. Thank you.
Definitely I prefer your interpretation of this song compared to your version of "The rains of Castamere"
Your singing is more powerful and intense with the sadness reflected through your words.
I watched RW today after weeks of knowing what would happen and agonizing over it- I brought the tissue box with me but my eyes stayed bone dry. I just couldn't bring myself to care. This finally brought the tears.
Aww thank you, so happy you liked it. X
So well done! I remember saying those exact words as the camera focused in on Catelyn......I just wanted the damn episode to end........
But it didn't....
Great job. You gave me chills, Karliene!
Aww, thank you so much Daniela, you're so lovely to say that. It means a lot. X
Aww, you're so lovely, thank you. I'm happy you enjoyed it,
9 years and I still coming back ❣️
This song gave me strength during my divorce from my ex-husband with Borderline Personality Disorder . My gratitude made me join your Patreon. Thank you Karliene.
