I use the turbo 5000 with a wilson ground plane kit and i cant say enough good things about it. Its a great antenna. It came pretuned and it was spot on, just tightened up the grubs, and put it on the car. Uv light didnt seem to damage it over time. Living by the ocean, i took it off once a year and cleaned the metal, and bottom contact point with polishing steel wool.

hi I NO LONGER HAVE EITHER, that said i do remember this. The megawatt 4000 is about 2.5 inches longer than the 5000. My President Texas is slightly longer than the 4000. Hope this helps fella....
@@CBRadiouk1 Thanks, most of the shops don't have them. But I see one for sale on eBay but it is double the price of a Sirio 4000. Not sure it is worth double the money.
@@TheOutdoorFun I bought mine for 34 quid, they were at one point over 70. The megawatt 4000 is the one I have, I have spoken to America on it. Let me know what you go for. I will say in my tests the Texas was very slightly better.
I also have a CRT 9900, like it. I should imagine it is the same version as mine, capable of going down to 24.5 MHz (12 metres) although I don't have an aerial that can cover that band
I dont think the 3/8 thread will fit a mag mount. The bottom part you unscrewed also has a coil in it. Have seen it on another video. I use a oscar 11se, shame they dont make them anymore. Amazing twig.

Glad you had a cracking Christmas. Antenna looks pretty long. Be interesting to see if it boosts your signal to my QTH. I know what you normally come in at. Yep get it on the car and get back on the 305 and we can all give you a radio report.

I read that the base also has a coil in it so its needed you will have to feed it into a so239 socket cheers jim ct1926

Hi I am a big sirio fan, so will saysirio megawatt 4000.
In general bigger is better, so avoid anything called mini or compact.

I gave my sirio 5000 away cos it wasn't as good as my 4000 hi power.
The only antenna that will outperform the 4000 is the president Texas.
I may have to invest in a texas to see what they can do.
