I bought 4 of the new powder blushes from Rare Beauty. Ended up taking them back to Sephora because no matter how I applied it, it showed texture on my cheeks. I realize being 64 this year probably doesn't help! This is a great video, thank you Nikki!❤
I'm 27 and didn't like them either. When I say it was the worst thing I ever put on my face I'm not exaggerating. It made all of the pores and every little, even the smallest imperfection show up like crazy.
In general, all shine show more and emphase texture and pores. I don’t understand the hype since couple years for glowy shinny look, it’s pretty on a perfect skin and no sign of age 😅 We need more satin finish and blur shinny finish (it’s very rare)
I wanted to stop in and say THANK YOU!!! I’m 45 with sensitive oily skin and I live in Florida. I’ve been searching for a good sunblock for years. You recommended the Biore Aqua Rich watery essence sunblock for those of us with oily skin. I’ve been using it for a few months now and LOVE IT! It works great under makeup and helps keep the oiliness at bay. I can’t thank you enough for the suggestion!!! :)
I got the Hope rare beauty blush too and so glad you gave us tips on better performance for it! It def doesn’t play well on a dewy cheek! It would be incredible to see how your looks photograph and also look in natural light sometimes-the studio lighting makes it look so flawless but most of us don’t apply makeup for that type of lighting.

I had such a hard time with that rare beauty blush too. Glad I wasn’t the only one. I thought I was crazy when every other creator was basically gushing over it. Thank you for keeping it real. I had to return it emphasized my texture way too much for my liking and then it basically had no sense of longevity on me. Thank you for this video! I struggle so much with packing makeup and end up bringing way too much. On a similar note to vacation, could you do a pool / beach day tutorial??
I'm fair but typically use any blush i want. I got a deeper shade of the rare blush and it looks absolutely horrible, but maybe it's because I do not typically set with powder. It looks bronze/copper instead of mauve berry, doesn't blend like most blushes, and just looks like a way too deep highlighter. I wonder if I powder my cheeks first if more of the base color will show up with the shimmer? Or maybe I just need a lighter shade lol. I don't typically think of blushes as being for different skin depths. Imo they should work for everyone like enough pigments for deep skin, but blendable and buildable for fair skin if that makes sense.
In regards to the Rare Beauty Blush, for most of us, if we have to work so hard to make a product work, its not worth it 🤷🏼♀️ Im dying to try the Guerlain foundation, it looks gorgeous on you!
I’ve been loving that kosas powder ! I did my makeup yesterday and I only used that powder to set my makeup and it blurred everything and lasted all day !
Hi Nikki, can u share tips on how to cover acne scars/spots. I've tried using colour corrector and Concealer, foundation but at the end still can be seen even if I tried to used face powder to cover it. Can u share tips, if can. TQ

Hi strange request but I'm severely sight impaired this morning I was doing my make up as I had a event and I was trying to do the definition at the outside of my eye but I failed miserably, after ages placing and blending it looked rubbish! Can you think of a easy way someone who can't see properly could do there make up and make it look good and modern, I'm 62 but I don't want to look old fashioned with just 1 belnded colour and no definition,iv bought the good eyeshadow and good brushes. Maybe a tutorial on easy placement. I like the thought of liquid eyeshadow as I could feel where I'm putting it. Any ideas welcome xxx
Maybe this is a silly suggestion, but have you tried a magnifying mirror? I have really been enjoying the Ilios Lighting compact mirror. It is large, 5in diameter and it has regular magnification on 1 side (which has a built in light), and the other side is 10x! When I hold it the right way so the light is on my face, I find the 10x magnification to be really clear!
@Silverwingz007 not silly at all thank you, iv just bought that mirror and it's great and does help but when I have to pull back to have room for brush I loose the vision,iv even bought short handle brushes. I just need to master a routine that looks good and is easy to do. I'm very grateful for your suggestion. Thank you x

(sorry if I'm late, I watched this video just now) I'm trying to solve the same thing for my mom and one thing I found out on the internet was a glasses frame, that has one lense, that you can then switch from one eye to another. This allows you to have one sight whilst doing the makeup of the other eye and vice-versa. It's a cheap product, you can find it easily on the internet. My mom struggle to blend too cause she can't see no detail of what she is doing. She hasn't tried it yet, we're waiting for it to arrive, but she got super excited. Hope this helps! I too rushed out and bought the colour 'happy' and I have been struggling with it so much that I have been using it as an eyeshadow because I didn't want to throw it out and we cannot return 'used/tested' products here in Ireland, so I was really disappointed .. however I am definitely gonna try the powder trick with it as see how it goes - otherwise it'll be used on my eyes!! I love to see the Milani setting spray because it’s my tried and true! I use it every time I do my make up. I also recently bought the Givenchy setting powder in 02 for fair skin and I like it. I think all setting powders look a little dry on me, but I need to set my under eyes to make sure my mascara doesn’t run or smudge because no matter what it does without powdering (no matter the type of mascara I’m using). I also bought the Natasha Denona concealer on the Sephora sale and so far I’m loving it!
I got the rare beauty blush and returned it. It’s basically a shimmer topper and made me look sooooo textured. I have too many beautiful blushes to work so hard to make that one semi-work. Looks beautiful on Nikki of course, but I had to let it go.

Great tip for the Rare Beauti blush. I’ve been wearing it over Dior backstage and the Haus Labs foundations. I found the blush oddly very hard to work with. I’ll have to give it a go with a little setting powder first.

It seems like everyone but me loves the Natasha Denona concealer. I can't decide if i like it or not. It's one of the few concealers I almost feel like I have to set, which I don't like. I also feel like the coverage disappears. Like it's great coverage then 10 minutes later I'm like where did the concealer go? It's still in my wrinkles though of course 😂. I need to test it more.
I am on the fence re: the ND concealer! I have very dry skin and it just looks heavy on my skin when I try it. I did pick up the wrong shade though, which doesn’t help things… 😅 but the formula goes on almost patchy for some reason! And it CREASES 😢 Do you experience slight patchiness upon application, too?

You are not alone. I much prefer my Huda because the coverage is better for my dark circles and it's creamier for my mature dry under eyes. Yet it doesn't budge once set with powder. The ND was dry looking on my lines and it didn't even cover any circles. The peach colors were too peach and the neutral colors looked gray. The Huda is so much easier to spread and the shade range is easy.

I am 64 and I stayed away from them for the same reason. The rms blushes and bronzers work so well on me.

Great tip for the Rare Beauti blush. I’ve been wearing it over Dior backstage and the Haus Labs foundations. I found the blush oddly very hard to work with. I’ll have to give it a go with a little setting powder first.

I actually think I’ll love that rare beauty blush. In the mid-late 2010s I always wore glittery blushes, like proper chunky glitter, and I’ve been wishing for something exactly like this!!! It’s like an updated version of my old favourites 🥰

It seems like everyone but me loves the Natasha Denona concealer. I can't decide if i like it or not. It's one of the few concealers I almost feel like I have to set, which I don't like. I also feel like the coverage disappears. Like it's great coverage then 10 minutes later I'm like where did the concealer go? It's still in my wrinkles though of course 😂. I need to test it more.
I am on the fence re: the ND concealer! I have very dry skin and it just looks heavy on my skin when I try it. I did pick up the wrong shade though, which doesn’t help things… 😅 but the formula goes on almost patchy for some reason! And it CREASES 😢 Do you experience slight patchiness upon application, too?

You are not alone. I much prefer my Huda because the coverage is better for my dark circles and it's creamier for my mature dry under eyes. Yet it doesn't budge once set with powder. The ND was dry looking on my lines and it didn't even cover any circles. The peach colors were too peach and the neutral colors looked gray. The Huda is so much easier to spread and the shade range is easy.
