If people can actually aim, MEA is really good. Both the g3 and the FAL are my favorite guns in the game since it's a one shot to the chest within 300 meters. CQB is a breeze since you simply just put the gun on the guy and shoot twice and he's dead. Oh and that turkish gun has the same damage. So unlike basically every factions DMR, MEA and turkey get one shot rifles for everyone. MEA also has the best marksmen kit (autorifleman with an optic)
These are larger caliber guns. Same experience with the older AK variant on the insurgents, 7,61x39. I grew to hate the 5.56 in this game, I ge the drop on a guy, whoot him trive, he's still not dead, turns around and gives me a lucky headshot. Unreliable.
@@TheTeodorsoldierabvb dawg don't talk like I don't know that, get yo hell let loose battlefield V crakkka ass out of here. The AK is still two shot, unless the map is going to be all CQB or just lots of suppression, g3 or fal for INS rifleman. Even with suppression, g3 and fal will do more, you can miss and suppress more vs the AK. Granted the AK is more controllable, but at the same time, in CQB without aiming, the g3/FAL are dead easy to point fire since the muzzle kisses them. Militia gets tricky with the fal because you can use the m16 or ak74 to trick the other team on plenty of maps a tad, which usually can be really helpful. Besides all of that, unless you play the game stroking your shit, instead of being aggressive with heavy use of grenades and suppression, it doesn't matter what fucking gun you choose. 5.56 works on my machine.
@@TheTeodorsoldierabvb 7,62x39 only deals like 9 damage more. It's not that gamechanging, if you're not killing up close with 5,56 you are just not hitting anywhere near where you should.
This reminds me of the MG42 in COD2 (which is technically an ancestor of this gun). Basically a laser that cannot be stopped if in a good, bipod-deployed postiion. This makes me want to try to use it but I'm worried I won't be patient enough :)
@@william3791 for savety of the gunner to prevent the bold from open before the gaspresure is low enough. nice "kurze und prözise Feuerstöße" as my squadleader in the Bundeswehr said.
IRL I've heard mixed reviews about the MG3. The Danish army just switched to the M60E6 and they seem to like it a lot. Lower RPM means longer sustainable suppressing fire and it's lighter. Anyway, awesome video. Thanks
My Norwegian home guard unit was switched from the MG3 to the Maximi Mk3 last year. The MG3 was reassuringly stout, but it was long and heavy, making it a pain to manhandle which this game doesn't really convey. Something as simple as crawling on the ground to get into a good firing position is awkward and tiresome. The 7.62 version of the Minimi is way more light and nimble in this regard. Another thing was that the MG3 felt like a wild animal while shooting. Not only is the cyclic rate high, but there's a lot of mass being thrown back and forth within the gun. The barrel and heavy bolt assembly all cycled aggressively, blurring my vision. Also, our MG3s had no optic mounts. In combination we could rarely see exactly where we were hitting, so we relied heavily on our gunner's assistants to correct our fire. Although, we never got that much trigger time with the MG3 in any one year, so this may have largely been a training issue. When we switched to the Maximi with a good optic we finally got a decent amount of training all at once, but even from the start it was enormously easier to shoot accurately. Suddenly everyone was consistently getting rounds on target in the first burst, and usually the very first round would hit exactly where I aimed it. It felt like cheating! And I could often see the impact from individual bullets, so I could correct my own fire just fine. It was a big upgrade to effective firepower! The only things my unit misses about the MG3 was that the internals felt more robust. We found it very easy to keep those tired old guns happy. Unless off course we were firing that terrible red plastic blank ammo that always got spectacularly jammed. The new guns somewhat come off as delicate flowers by comparison. We had some mysterious problems with them last year, though apparently that may have been caused by a batch of poor quality ammo. Many of us have also come to miss the old MG3 bipod. The Maximi bipod is stiffer and more adjustable, making it way better for accurate shooting, but we found it a bit clunky and inflexible for everything else. The MG3 is really cool, but it definitely shows its age. Mostly through its bulk and weight, but also in just being needlessly challenging to tame.
German Army is switching to MG5 with lower ROF too. It is however an awesome weapon for coax in a Leopard 2. Plenty of ammo, fully stabilized, tank sights.

MG3 beast from the Germans, beast of the east!
For certain, although I wouldn't want to fight with it, due to its weight 21 pounds by itself, it is a heavy beast.
