Jesse Plemons REALLY knows how to play the "there's something a bit off about this guy" character. Terrific actor.

The actor had a conflict and this guy is related to one of the production crew. I'm sorry I can't remember names, I can see it in my head. The story is that he walked onto the set with no preparation, no rehearsal which added to the suspense of the scene.

Wagner Moura is an underrated actor he’s goes from Pablo Escobar to playing an everyman in this role…
He's great in Civil War, pretty much steals the film.

People hoping for a political movie that validates their world view about the government will be disappointed.
This is more of a horror/thriller movie set in a war environment. The actual cause of the conflict is vague and not important to the story. What IS important is the effect of civil war on civilians, something the United States hasn't dealt with in a hundred and fifty years but some people in the world live with every single day. If you go into this movie with that mindset, you will appreciate it more.
Why hatred of the government has nothing to do with partisan politics. They are both part of the problem.
Main complaint I see are from people saying “Cali and Texas would never be allies” when it’s a movie and its setting doesn’t have to be grounded in reality. It’s ambiguous for a reason and people who are overcharged politically just can’t seem to grasp that lmao.

In the opening, a suicide bomber runs with what appears to be an American flag stolen from a Burger King restaurant (because it’s so BIG) into a crowd and explodes, killing a group of protesters and cops… who was that supposed to represent? The president talks about two states seceding from the country, Florida being an advocate with them, and that D.C. is winning when CLEARLY throughout the movie D.C. is becoming ground zero, leading into the climax of the movie, hunting the POTUS as if he’s a Bin Laden.
The movie appears to be just a glimpse of what contention and division within the country COULD become, if the states cannot agree… agree on what? On whether or not we still want to be a REPUBLIC and governed by the greatest government document ever produced- THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION!!!

One of the most incoherent films I've seen.
unlike in every other western conflict since the beginning of ownership, we've for some decided that unique military uniforms or markings to distinguish allegiances is to costly or time consuming and so everyone just wears whatever they want along with standard US military gear.
troops are stationed in the most random places for apparently no reason and still want to participate in the conflict. Some also seem to just have no real orders or purpose and so just ethnically cleanse arbitrarily or have shoot out's in the woods over Christmas ordainments.
It seems like it's trying to say something important about human nature or war in general, but really it's all about the photographers. It's directed at young women for sure since it is so personality oriented rather than focusing on making a believable conflict or helping us to understand the motivations behind the war. Instead it's about what these women think about the dead bodies and what they think about going into a combat zone and what that does to them. The dying people are just props, the whole conflict feels like it's set up so we could talk about how it makes us feel to look at gore rather than explaining to use the motivating factors.
It's very self centered and doesn't have a big picture.

Went to the theatre to see it, I strongly recommend go see it while it is still in. A kind of interesting blend of Indie movie (in its approach to storytelling,) and fairly big budget movie (in that manages the action in spectacular fashion.)
He actually ends up shooting the two Asian guys and almost killing the rest of them XD

Nope. This generation is a bunch of pansies. They'd never take radical action like this in any significant numbers. ESPECIALLY not organized. At most you'd get another wave of "peaceful" protests, rioting, torching innocent people's cars, and burning down small businesses. The idea that the modern generation is diametrically divided enough, and intellectually competent enough to start and run an offensive war is hilarious.
