I am mystified about you not being able to get insurance my friend. When I "retired" the driving factor was my health issues. I just could not continue to work. I was too young for Medicare and did not qualify for Medicaid. My only option for insurance was the ACA. I went to the website, entered my information, it brought up my choices (none of which were ideal) and I clicked the box on what I thought was the best option for me. It took maybe 10 minutes. I just can't understand why it won't let you do it, many millions have. I pray that by some means you are able to get the stents you need, and become mobile again so you can live many more years. Being immobile has grave consequences as you know better than anyone. Be strong, keep fighting, and know a lot of folks are on your side man. May God be with you buddy.
Hello Todd. Thanks for relying your experiences. I greatly appreciate it . I also don't understand why I have not been able to obtain insurance yet. I haven't despite numerous attempts and many many hours. Much of the information I need is in my truck so I need to wait till I get out of here. I hope you're doing well and having a fantastic day.
I called the 800 number. Those folks were awesome in walking me through all the questions. They went through all the choices. As long as you have some income over 500 dollars or so; you normally qualify.

Hello friend. I got really good physical therapy while I was in the hospital but absolutely zero here at nursing and rehab unit. Pretty bizarre.

Dennis, I concur with many others, stay as long as possible. Wound care is no joke. You do not want to get an infection. Even the place probably isn’t super great, you can do it! Get strong and heal-So you can get back to doing the things you love to do. You’re an incredible human being you can do this. 🙏🏼🙏🏼praying for your swift recovery
Thank you friend. As far as I know, Thursday is as long as I can stay. I will be diligent in my care and immediately go to the emergency room if the slightest thing seems wrong. It would be nice to walk into ER for a change.
@@dennis78382 hello, I had a similar condition with congested heart failure and I had extremely high blood pressure that led to 3 mini strokes. I am now having to rely on a walker along with a few other things that totally suck. But listen stay at the hospital until you're 100% fine. The bills will come but they'll eventually give up on collecting. It's not like a car or house payment where they can come and repo.

That being said… I have known you for 6 years now. I love you like a brother. Please stay as long as they will let you. Your wounds are in places you can’t reach. You have been through a lot with your health. Time is what you need to heal those wounds. I encourage you to stay put. You will be glad you did later. We are both in Texas and still 8 hours away from each other. I wish I lived closer. Since I can’t come and hide your shoes. I’ll continue praying for your continued healing.

Your job is to get better. You sound pretty good and it's great that you're maintaining your sense of humor. Care in a nursing facility is night and day different from care in a hospital. I don't think it matters what part of the country you're in, either. Just know that the people in the hospital who made the decision to send you to the nursing facility know everything about that difference and felt that you could handle it. Now take care and don't worry about anything. It'll be okay.

Absolutely buddy. Sometimes I sit here and look at my ship apps to see what I'm missing. Hopefully there's cooler weather when I'm out next week because the heat index was 96 again yesterday. I think I picked a good time to go to the hospital.
It was great getting an in person update😉 I hate to see you laid up in there especially reading between the lines and knowing the care outside of the wound team probably isn’t that great. If I was a millionaire you have your stents and be entertaining me with your great videos. I will keep praying for you though and hope you make the right decision on how long to stay.

Good to see you’re doing better. Dennis stay as long as they will let you. The humidity and heat in Rockport is not friendly right now and the mosquitos are horrible. Your wounds don’t need the extra sweat and I imagine the heat would irritate them. Prayer for you !

I asked if the people in the kitchen were all Mexican and the lady said yes, so I went with the quesadilla. They actually served a good taco Monday night. Taco. As in one taco.

I know nursing rehab is not an ideal situation, especially in Corpus...really happy to hear they have an outstanding wound care team, tho.
I remember the first time my Dad had to have an assisted bath...he told me he now knows what it's like to go thru a car wash...lol.
On a serious note, you are certainly allowed to tell them you can wash those " certain places" yourself ( and they should have asked first)...sometimes those nursing facilities forget about the dignity of their patients.

Hello friend. I hope you're doing well. Modesty left my life a long time ago. I just let them come in and do their job. There are certainly good points and bad points about being here, but I am grateful for the time here and for the exceptional wound care. Hopefully those situations will improve by the time I leave and I can either maintain them myself or with help from several friends with experience. Thank you friend. I hope you're doing well.

Hi Dennis 🤗 hang in there, I know CHF is a rollercoaster of ups and downs, it may seem on some days that this is it and then the next morning you’re feeling better.
I do not know what your EF is, what your entire list of symptoms are, I also don’t know if they told you what stage but that usually just goes by symptoms, I also don’t know if is the left or right.
However, keep your spirits up you can still have another 20 or so years, or 5 really great ones.
My best friend is a mover for a living after 2 years during covid he couldn’t find work in safety at 57 he went to work as a mover 🤦♀️…
A long list of things and keeping his weight steady with as much salt free food I can make for him, he is exhausted all the time to the point of a once proud man not able to do simple or hints like shower, he sleeps all the time. Before he finally got back to work, he used to sit at his lap top at his dinning room table from dawn to dusk and was developing bleeding wounds on the back of his thighs. He is the driver (truck packer, he doesn’t do the very heavy lifting or stairs or any of it) so I still go over every second day and make sure he doesn’t develop wounds. I could go on of everything that is going on but it won’t do any good.
The whole point is keep your spirits up and live every day you have now surrounded by those you love, who love you and don’t forget to tell them every time you see them.

Keep doing what they tell you to do and if you need to stay longer do it man especially if it will heal you and get you back on your feet and back on the road…we miss your videos but that’s not what’s important here your health always come first….keeping you in prayer brother.
Hey Jesse. It is my understanding that the hospital paid for two weeks of rehab and I am absolutely grateful to get those two weeks. Downside is I haven't gotten out of bed in a week here. That's not gonna help my mobility at all. I hope you're doing well friend and thank you for your concern.

Hey Jennifer. I haven't slept in the back in almost a year so I will start doing that. If we are still going to heat wave down here, I will head north to cooler temperatures while I recover. The good part about staying in the Rockport area is, I have people to help me with wound care which I may not have if I get out on the road. All things to consider.
