Me and my wife went there a couple of days ago. We did the tour and it was incredible what Marta created in that opera house. It took her 6 years to paint the murals on the inner walls. The sad thing was that she would perform every day on the stage whether or not there was anyone even there. In the middle of nowhere.. She did that for 50 plus years. Amazing but very sad
I booked the Amargosa Opera House and expected to see a elegant hotel in the desert, but I was completely shocked by the story of Marta Becket. I asked my kids: If you are allowed to ask only one question to Marta, what it will be? Everyone said: Why? How can you imagine the feeling that you bring the most civilized culture to the desert? Huge contrasts from any point of view just hit your soul so hard. All she did was beyond our common sense. I guess Marta was just doing it for herself, that was her religion, her believe, her life. She really didn't need anyone to endorse her to do it, she was performer and audience by herself. If we sent one person to Mars, that should be Marta, or alike.
It's a work of art. It's been on national geographic Life magazine and its own documentary. So sad to see it crumbling away. I really hope it gets the financial boon it deserves rather than just another stupid resort hotel that nobody asked for.
See what happens when people REFUSE a to have care, concern, and civility towards others? Besides, you can’t hate on people for not wanting to go to a lame ass ballet out in the middle of nowhere , twinkle toes.

This is going to be my destination bucket list. I’ve heard of this place of a podcast called “Alice isn’t dead”

See what happens to states and cities with democratic leadership

@@privatecitizenguy2640 congratulations. You both sound like raging jackasses.👏
Just the opposite. Democratic leadership always keeps the arts alive.
