Larry chen recently said that when fitting the Nismo brace to his R32, it didn't line up at first, but when he put this car on the lift, it did. Just because of the body flex with the weight on those strut tops
FAX. If only i knew this when i bought my tanabe strut bar then returned it. Then went with this an adjustable one.
Imma raise my car up when i do an oil change and re install my bar
Similar issue with my racing beat brace for my Rx7. Car was low miles, never in an accident, just had to keep everything loose, do the firewall first, then mess with the strut towers until it lined up. Given the questionable history of your car, I wouldn’t blame the brace.
I would recheck wheel alignment after adding the brace, especially if it's flexing the strut towers!
Yup... This is strut tower brace 101
Love to see these cars evolving with more track time already planned! It'll be cool to see these both get dialed. And then you can make a LSD video and really show the difference it makes to a pretty well sorted setup.
The magnesium Augment wheels are crazy! They're going to look great!
Those JDM itr replica magnesium wheels are super cool.
When I get a used Honda, I have a list of things I immediately replace: Motor Mounts, Suspension Bushings, Tie Rods, End Links, Bearings, and Fluids. Cheaper than it sounds, takes about a day to do.
seriously i would have told the guy to redo those lines since what you got is not what you asked for even with the time.
Yea like wtf he said stainless steel braided lines thats some nickel copper line with some rubber hose i would of been like dude how did u get this fron steel braided
on top of it there is more fail points than stock. what the guy gave him was shit!
Yeah wtf is that? Rubber lines may be a hazard on track too.
Ya id pay money to find out what the guy who made that was smoking.
all the guy had to do was just LISTEN!
I love the idea of championship white wheels on the integra!
Maybe the guy thought you said "Steam Punk" hoses instead of "Steel Braid" hoses 😅👍
I love the fact that you guys did budget builds, then said, "k, for reals this time." Haha. Love these builds!
Thank you for addressing the DC2’s wheel colour, I love the style but the non-matching white was all I could think about once they were on screen 😂
These Honda builds are more engaging for me because of the test/tune iterative cycle. I like being able to see the evaluation of the changes. They are more helpful in how I make decisions on my build.
I agree! I feel it's almost taking it back to their old days. One little mod & right after some type of testing
Sold the engine mount to the future DP so it counts! Great video as always!
I worked in a hose store for a few years. My guess on why that synthetic piece is there is because there is a lot of measuring when it comes to bending a line that many times. It takes time to map all the bends. That's just my opinion. It's not how I would have done it either
Those lines 😬
The wheels for the ITR 👌🏻👌🏻😎
Now PT is secured in that Recaro its going to be a tuf one to beat the civic 🤔
Damn that's so cool love the custom magnesium wheels! 😍😍 Can't wait for these 2 beasts to head on track again!
FedEx has to be the most incompetent shipping company I've ever dealt with. They delivered my coilovers to the grocery store next to my mailbox at the UPS store 😑
I'd love to see the type r get a proper tune before hitting the track.
I'd love to see it with a 2.0L thatll be some nice torque
Love the part of your builds where you make a few specific changes, then track test them to see the difference!
For the Type R understeer, you could leave the back sway bar at stiff (with every rear bushings in poly) and either swap the front sway bar for a smaller or (if you can't find a smaller one) swap the bushings for regular ones (non poly) and do a front alignment with a little bit of toe in and a few more degrees of camber , provided this is a tracking car more than a weekend drive around car of course. Otherwise the tire chew will be somewhat unpleasant.
But good tires on those 15's would probably take care of some of the understeer.
Custom magnesium wheels sound so cool! Looking forward to a long term check-in/review on how these wheels hold up compared to something like Ray's.
CDN $6,400 a set!!!!
Keep up the great work and videos guys. These two cars are going to be even better to drive at the limits.
Thank you so much for shouting out that wheel manufacturer! A problem I've been having with planning out my RSX is that I prefer the stock '05-'06 Type S wheel design over anything I've seen aftermarket, but as is the problem with factory wheels, they're too narrow for the tires I'd like and the offset is too high. But now I can finally have them made in my ideal spec, thank you!
Over $6K CDN a set for 15" magnesium WOW!!!
@@Patrick94GSR Yeah, it would be about $4k US for the 17" aluminum wheels I want. Volks are cheaper, but I'm trying to stomach that by reminding myself that it'll likely be the only set in existence, and I don't like doing what everyone else is doing.
That "paper" is called fill even ot comes to evaporative coolers. They also use a pvc plastic that is pressed into shape with a thermoformer and sometimes glued together. It's used on things that small up to full size industrial coolers.
Great content as always! Please change the colour of those wheels to match the white on the car. It will looks so much better 🙌🏼
Would love to see a b20v built video for the itr!
Looking great guys! Keep it up!
I passed DP in the integra the other day near binbrook in my csx type s ! Wow that car looks better in person than on video !
My 1998 UK ITR had Enkeis that looked exactly like those wheels in 15", they had the US front but with clear lenses in the bumper too
I wouldn't say you're a wussy for using powered steering. it's a matter of preference. some prefer manual, other's prefer powered. Just a matter of taste.
I haven't gotten my hands on it personally, but I've heard good things about the electric power steering set up. If true, I'd see that as a standard install moving forward
Y'all are going to get me in trouble, I scrolled through the Augment Wheels website and I about lost it 😍😍😍
You could have done that steering pipe fix yourself, keeping the original hard bent pipe then adding the hose or hardline with flared fittings all the same.
Hopefully the rubberised lines don't harm the feel as they're a weak spot.
dude! such a clean build! i think you should leave it with out turbo but AWD converged
love the video, with the stainless braided power steering lines you would not be able to have them bend that sharp of an angle without compromising the hose I have ran into a similar thing before so as you have it is probably the best they could do it
Man I was all about the civic but idk the integra came out way better than I expected!
"we don't have the right bending tools"
Mate you've got two hands right there! Bending steel hard line isn't rocket science, a lot of people will say you can't bend it by hand without kinking it but I'll tell you first hand you certainly can!
Have you guys considered adding a volvo electric hydraulic power steering pump? There’s modules you can buy now to control the canbus communication on it.

Pete why dont you put the transmission + another part from your stash up for trade on marketplace for 08 SI LSD trans .
Agreed. The transmission from the Civic Si (2006-2011] came with a 4.7:1 final drive and LSD. I know the early RSX-S had a 4.3:1 final drive (probably better for a car lighter than the 8th Gen Civic), but it never had LSD. Note: the later RSX-S transmissions had a 4.7:1 final drive and still no LSD.
cant wait for the redemption race and temperature is cooler
Dave don’t let Pete win this time, Put in a Hondata s300 and vtec to the moon. 😅
The s300 is very dated technology and extremely overpriced. For what it's worth, there are much better options out there. Unless you are tuning the car yourself or plan to make real-time changes to the tune, you dont need Hondata. Just get a socketed p28 and get it tuned on HTS. Save yourself the cost of the s300. If you don't already have the virgin p28, you'd have to find one in order to run an s300. And yes it has to be a virgin ECU. A socketed p28 will not work for an s300 as it uses a header opposed to the 28 pin socket a chip or demon board uses. And virgin ecus are going for 400$ now, thats if you can find one. Maybe you can only find a non vtec virgin ecu like the p06, then it has to be converted to vtec. Then you'd need the s300, that's 800$ candian dollars by itself. Then you need to pay to have it all installed. Want to run the Hondata COP retrofit? Thats 500$ usd, and also extremely overpriced and doesnt even work that well. Burton Racing offers a much better COP conversion kit for OBD1 ecus and its a compatible with ALL tuning software (Neptune, HTS, SnakeEMU, Hondata, etc) unlike the Hondata COP which only works with Hondata. The Burton Racing COP kit will even work on a completely stock Honda ecu, and it doesnt cost 500$ dollars. Want to run boost by gear? Thats more money. And at the end of the day you're still stuck with a 30 year old ECU. So youd better replace the all capacitors while your at it before they start leaking and burn a hold through the board, actually had this happen personally. My point being for what you'd have into an s300 you could buy a modern standalone that runs in full closed loop VE. Haltech, Fueltech, etc. If Hondata wants to survive the next 5 years they are going to have to SIGNIFICANTLY lower their prices and/or come up with their own entry level standalone that covers OBD1 and OBD2 platforms, and it has to be affordable. And by affordable I mean cheaper than a Haltech 550. There are only so many virgin Honda ecus left in the world that can accept the s300 board, and for what it cost to get it up and running it just doesn't make sense anymore to go out and buy it new if you don't already have it. The s300 was great back in the early 2000s becuase there weren't many options for real-time tuning available to the common man, otherwise you were spending crazy money on a standalone..
Hell ya now this a gonna b a badass one, something about a hatch I love more than the Type R integra
About the LSD, I'm not versed with this stuff but it seemed like you were saying it would be a lot of work to install an LSD to your existing transmission, but what about swapping out for a transmission that already comes with an LSD? Not sure if that's an option. Anyway it seems premature to already be returning to the track if you've removed the budget cap, but haven't really done significant mods to the cars yet. Still loving the continued work on the Hondas though. 👍
Way too much compromise with the lines. Actual stainless braided flex is what you wanted & what you should have waited for while the rack was out.
Change your username, tough guy.
@@TML34 What is tough guy about my comment or the silly user name?
@@TML34 please explain, I’m just as confused 😂
@@jspeedking you picked that username to try and stand out. Congrats, you did, but you’re a dbag for using the victim’s name involved in a famous brutal double homicide. Have some self-awareness and do the right thing.
Fugen pedal 🤣😭 keep up all the integra and Honda content, love to see it
Yes!!!!! Was just about to sleep but this popped up. Sleeping is going to have to wait 😂
The hardline is needed. If it's all Teflon they will move and catch something spinning.
Pete's burn at the end is so savage you may need to penalize him on the track to even the field
Definitely needs to be championship white!
UK spec DC2 came with 15" versions of the JDM style wheels, obvs not magnesium though.
Yes.. But what they show is custom
AUDM and UKDM got those wheels in 15" specs for the dc2r
for those seeking to add power steering to their k-swapped cars, just know that it adds a very loud whine to your engine sound. some folks might not like it.
I think its an old and tired pump thing, this is the first PS pump that has been whisper quiet. I thought it didnt work when we hooked it up cause Im used to them whining so much
A dc5 type R trans would fix the EKs lsd problem and I bet you would totally smoke the hype R. Lol, jokes a side I enjoy the videos keep them coming.
I’ve never seen an exhaust use springs as a clamp in that way, interesting
I just bent the gas pedal over. Worked fine lol.
I think Honed makes adjustable pedal for Honda
good work boys!
Is the weather cooling down enough in the GTA for some JDM legend dyno runs?
The Type R wheels have got to be Championship White...the bright white clashes so bad on such an iconic car...it deserves better
i need to know about those custom wheels.
cost and planning involved.
would be an awesome stand alone video.
FedEx has been particularly bad lately. They “lost” a Voltex wing I had been waiting 9 months for. It’s been a huge mess getting them to make good, too.
Hope you get a good resolution on that lost wheel. It’s always the expensive, one-off stuff that they pick to screw up with. :/
I would have used banjo fittings on the P/S rack. I'm no hydraulic expert so maybe that wouldn't work for some reason?
A great video, but the question is, has the other wheel showed up yet ?
You can get Pilot Sport 4, R888R, AD08RS on 16 inch... Don't understand your comment that you can't get good performance tyres for 16s nowadays.
@6:07 they did it like that instead of braided as they would need special lines that could handle the pressure. likely a steel braided line would explode from all that high pressure from the power steering setup. It's odd that they didn't just do straight hardline as its directly bolted to the rack which won't flex at all, that's the only thing that's offputting to me. but aside from that, redoing hardline was the better route.
That's rubber coated braided stainless Teflon. The only difference between that and the cheap stuff is it's crimp and rubber coated.
Wont' those hoses melt next to the exhaust like that?
Great content
This is clean af ouch!!
LSD is going to prove to be a way superior mod when it's done
See ya tomorrow at TMP.
Traction bar and motor mounts (if not already done) can almost be as good as an LSD at least in a straight line. Or maybe the trans from a k20z3 could fit if you really wanted one?
Straight line? What are you talking about? The ITR was completely demolished in a straight line by this civic, the corner exit are what they are focusing on with the lap times.
Please do the wheels in championship white. The drastically different shades of white are oddly off putting.
Hell yeah!
love these cars
i lost my shit when the video cut exactly after you said im a wussy 🤣
Nice spoiler alert on the FD paint job lol
arent strut braces ment to be fitted with the wheels off the floor ? 🤔
$6400 CDN for these custom magnesium wheels !wow nuts!
You Canadians are just way too nice and avoid confrontation at all cost. When you pay for something that isn’t done correct they should be happy to honor your request to redo it for free to avoid confrontation and loss of business.
Why not going with an 8 in wheel, especially since it's custom?
Weird that you did a different white on the Type R wheels 2 times now. The color matched originals fit in much better. The undercoating is obviously good to have but I can't get over it looking like bad oil leaks all over. Seems harder to pinpoint any future leaks.
What leak? It's a Honda 😂
Sad to see the Valvoline livery gone off the type R
I've got authentic Mugen Pedals and the brake and clutch pedal look authentic from a distance in this vid haha.
It’s probably stainless braided hydraulic hose. It’ll work, but it’s very bulky. This is when the industrial hydraulic shop thinks you are using it on mobile equipment instead of a car. 😂
You could have got some UK DC2 wheels which would have fit perfect and been in the correct colour already.
For your wheel reveal video, the thumbnail had black circles over the wheels and I had to tell you black looks 10x better than the white
Οem integra setup isnt understeer-y at all the oposite even with the smaller rear 22mm-23mm bar
Aren't you You supposed to jack the front up and let hang then install strut tower bar?
Doesn't that add the strength and support your looking for.
magnesium wheels 🔥🔥🔥
Hope you change your mind on that limited slip, it wound take this build to a completely different level.
When you guys bought the lip did you get the message saying that the seller is away? I’m about to grab one but wondering about this
the manual steering rack was one of my favorite swaps on my hatch but this is the internets car not mine
I need a shop so bad.. so i can live out my custom street car dreams
The bolt holes won't line up on the brace because of the chassis flexing. If everything lined up perfectly there'd be no point for the brace. Jack the car up, install the brace and then torque it down.

Can we get an update on Ken and his FD RX-7?
no wonder fedex is dropping like crazy
8spoke 15x7 would have looked more like the original jdm 4x114 8spoke 15’s, than a 15” version of their ladder 16” version
Can anyone tell me what kind of gray this is?
