We planted Leland cypress six years ago. They grew just as large and beautiful as we had been told. We wanted a lot of privacy, so we planted two rows and staggered the spaces at 5 feet apart. Best trees we’ve ever planted. Lovely color and fast growing. Your variety will be great, too. They don’t continue to grow much taller than 30’ after about ten years, so they won’t block your view of the mountains. 😊

Glad you chose the Murray Cypress. We have 22 year old Leland Cypress and they have gotten a fungus (or disease) that is killing them. They are so large we need a tree removal service to take them down. Once my husband gets around to having someone remove them, we will plant the Murray Cypress because of their resistance to pests and diseases.

Put in a riparian for a windbreaker and for privacy. You got it going. Remember to water them in after planting. Important, Important, Important.
They are beautiful! Please remember that they need to be watered OFTEN this first growing season!
there is also a fish liquid that is great for first-planted plants. Find out if you get it in your area. It is fish poop and a great starter support. The cat will love the smell. 🐟🐈❤
Don't forget to water them. That helps get rid of air pockets too.

The new trees will need heavy watering for their first year at least. A really good dousing one a week should encourage root depth and plenty of height growth.

The property line along the front already looks better. Please be sure to water them in and water each week unless you get an inch or more of rain. I've seen beautiful and expensive plantings fail because of inconsistent watering.

Looking good. That will be a nice barrier as well. glad you put them back a bit as the road travel will kick up dust and dirt from the road but it will be a nice setting for your place. It's literally like a bit of a fence but a pretty one. Great idea and I hope you have great luck planting them.

Nice to see you putting up some trees again this year hopefully they will grow. It would have been nice to see you add some manure to the soil before you put it back in the hole. And I hope you water everyday for 2 weeks. Give them drink of water everyday. Then the next 2 weeks every other day. That will give the roots a chance to not dry out and to start growing into the soil
If you have any difficulties with your trees look up a guy on the Internet by the name of Rodger cook from This Old House or ask This Old House
Those pots can be surprisingly expensive. I bought some last year for potting up extra raspberries. Maybe you can use them to pot up something to sell, or sell just the pots, or use them in your greenhouse (I use similar pots for herbs), or maybe the tree seller would want them. Or something else :) This looked like a great family project on a great sunny day. Can't believe I missed this when it first came out but glad to see it today!

It is going to be a massive job to water them all. Are you going to put in a sprinkler/watering system? Nice to see you back on the telly.
It will help with blocking some of the noise , provide privacy, and they also help with carbon dioxide/oxygen exchange.
Great way to measure. We did something similar with a ten foot pole.

Are you going to put in a simple watering system so you don't have to drag a hose out and water each of them? Autumn is normally the time of the year to plant but you will still need to water them especially the first summer in the ground

I was wonder when you would post a new video, good to see everyone is well. One thing like to do when planting is to put water in the hole before I put the tree in and then water again after its planted. How are your fruit trees?

Non of my business but I hate weed eating and hate getting smacked by branches mowing I’d probably place them further back from the fence and further apart unless you intend for them to grow into each other.
Can we see how your food gardens are doing and fruit trees please.
