No power to outside sockets is a common one, they're decorative don't you know. Also come across flues not being made in, no local isolation on gas hobs and undersized radiators as per building regs quite often. That's only when we do our gas and electrical inspections for clients that are looking to purchase though.
10 months old barratt home and im the second owner and within 2 weeks of living there ive noticed a slight hair line crack on the side wall of bath. Barratt responded blaming the first owners which from the damage it must of been done when installed or manufacturing. Plus it wasnt notified within 72 hours of moving in. Impossible to see inless you kniw wgat your looking for.
We had the same issue but our snagger caught it when we moved in. It was hairline and we didnt notice it at all and you could barely see it. In fact, they had tried to repair it before we moved in and the repair had failed. They tried to repair it again but it cracked again and we had to have the whole bath replaced.
I talked my son out of buying a new build about a year ago. The house had a sign in front of it a couple of weeks ago put up by the owner telling people not to buy them as there was so many faults.
House builders use the cheapest building contractor they can get away with. Lowest bid nornally wins. Workmen paid a rate for their work. The quicker they do it, the more money they make and off to the next gig...
600k and I would be disapponted in the quality of door hardware. Then in the kitchen, surely for a big house like this it needs wall cabinets and on the tall cabs there is no basic top pelmet. Just looks unfinished.
Don't kid yourself, you have obviously never worked in the building trade , this guy would be down the road in the first week . Trying to do a good job and taking pride in your work does not cut it with site agents these days . Its the easiest thing in the world to do what this guy is doing ....going round picking up on every little fault in a completed and "empty" building . Try doing it when all the trades are in and out of the houses (scaffolding still in situ in most cases) and the agents are pressing for mortgage contracts to be completed , he would be out on his arse . These are not really major problems , and does he actually put right or get any of these problems rectified ? I am a joiner (retired now) over 50 years experience and have seen some horrors on new build sites , trust me you can not do anything about it
maybe you could invest in a collor mike or do a talkover over the video as often because your in an empty house audio isn't so good. apart from the audio I'm loving the videos great content,
It doesn't matter how much the house costs, are people who can only afford 200k houses expected to put up with substandard work then? It should be right, irrespective of the cost...they same tradespeople work on cheaper houses too. Get yourself a radio mike for your collar, you sounded like you was in an aircraft hangar...and the music didn't help. Have these houses had there final snag and been handed over? Who's at fault?...agent?, trades?, main contractor? I'd say all 3
You will find one hundred snags if your lucky very lucky they will do 25 of them and you will get fed up complaining and go away and the builder knows this win win win
You're doing a good job. You're giving me great ideas on what to look for in a new house, because, I just bought one in Doncaster.
What a brilliant channel. Very interesting to say the least! Thank you!
Can’t believe this is how they hand a new build over! Really putting me off buying one. Do they sort all the snagging issues out??
Took 5 years to sort out the snagging issues in my new-build. And even then, some I just gave up on.
Agree with the above. Housebuilders not interested once they have your money. Been in two new builds, never again.
for 600k it's a sh*t show. If it were me, I'd ask for just a bare shell, no doors, no kitchen etc and a discount. Let me do a proper job.
Bodgit and Leggit springs to mind!
In the Lounge there was no decorative cover on the radiator lock shield valve!

How do they sort out brickwork that is not plum? Take walls down on new house? Owners have to move out?
Where have the tradesmen gone

Builders will use any excuse to get out of doing any repair work.

Never buy a Barratt house!!
That's a really good quality new build all snags are minor. Even new cars have snags
4 videos in a year.. hope they bring more out.
sloping window ledge on a £600k house not what you would expect? 🤣
how about straight window ledges, regardless of price?
Why has the radiator in the front lounge not got a thermostat valve fitted
The guy says it's not too bad? I think it's unbelievable when you think what they probably paid for the house.
I talked my son out of buying a new build about a year ago. The house had a sign in front of it a couple of weeks ago put up by the owner telling people not to buy them as there was so many faults.
Woow so many issues! Is this normal or is it developer specific?

You could get a job with these big contractors and this would stop jobs like this happening.

@@mark-ec3ckso just let the buyer absorb the laziness and disorganisation of the site team? Get fucked 😂
Top man
Underside of window boards?!?! Wtf 🤣
I’m not surprised it’s like that them houses been thrown up in no time and the state of the site etc not a good quality builder at all
To be fair there should be no no snags at all unless the builder doesn’t care none at all
£600,000 for that!! ...somebodies having a laugh surely?
Any strata
And people still buy these shitboxes called "new homes" for hundreds of thousands of pounds????
Did he just say let’s dance
Remember people it's the easiest job in the world to snag a plot anyone can do it.
You need a lavalier microphone
Please please lose the music
Yes why is it there it’s not a drama maybe for the buyer definitely by an old house and expect jobs to be done no surprises
Castlegreen homes shockin bunch and dangerous open chamber on site at college green chester , right opposite the show house . Lethal

Just imagine you have move into a new house and you have builders coming in and out rediculous by an old house then you no were you are
Moved
You will find one hundred snags if your lucky very lucky they will do 25 of them and you will get fed up complaining and go away and the builder knows this win win win
Just look at that new floor covered in paint the painter get paid 100 per room so it’s in and out as fassssssst as possible gone like the wind
You should be able to go in a day ore two before moving in point out the snags put you in a hotel until done that would stop them taking the P
