Sweet one, Marty, one of everybody's favorites. I see your using the fat E. I think you showed us this 10yrs ago. Great enthusiasm!! Takes me back to the 60's.
Any stones that ive been stumped on and needed a little bit of a hint i come here... mostly to find tunings or how keef pulls it off live. And obviously its doing well by everyone involved. Youre sponspred, the music is more likely to keep going the more people learn these songs and for most the other guitarists i know the stones represent a big gap in their set list simply cuz all the strange crap keef does with tunings and capos and five stringed teles... heck most players kind pf give each other a pass on these songs cuz hell... cant criticize you for playing it a lil differently than i do since neither of us are right lol.. this gets me at least in the key and a bit of direction lol. That seems like the kind of approach the man himself would approve of. Hats off to ya.
Great lesson. I love Keith Richards; he has written some of the greatest riffs in R&R history. Back when I owned more guitars, I used to keep a Tele, set up “Keith Style;” no 6th string and open tuning. It made learning his licks much easier.
Man, I play guitar and I’ve been a fan of Keith Richards’s for over 50 years…this song is the most enigmatic Stones song. I've seen it all, in open G, in open E, with e clamp, with 5 strings, live and in a dozen concert versions. I have never, however, heard a version that I can say: THAT IS IT !!!! 100% correct. Honestly speaking, I think Keith did this song and put a curse on these chords. Long live Richard the wizard
Cheers Marty, there's a lot of sadness in the world at the moment but by using your teaching even I can play along with Keith and Ronnie and cheer my day up! Thank you mate.
Awesome Marty taught the correct way this video. On the old jumping Jack flash video he made in the key of B flat I learned and I played it wrong for like a year after that. This way is the exact way Keith plays it live
WAIT?? Did I hear correctly - the stones sponsored you & this vid !! That brilliant 🤩 I hope it’s validating for you because your vids have taught me so much !! Ere Keeef !!
What is so awesome is even if i cant shred , i can still play some awesome stuff, that sounds nice thanks to you marty , but after you learn it is possible to play for almost anyone, nice, sometimes when i see some of those guitar shredders i want to burn my guitar, but i just do the best i can and remember i am just an average joe not jimi Hendrix , thanks Marty for all your awesome lessons, i hope you realize how much you are appreciated, thanks Brother,
Cheers geezer, now all the doubts are erased and I can play it properly. Thanks stones for sharing and passing down your history to other generations 👍
You Truly Deserve the Sponsorship and more, Marty! Keep doing it justice out there in the video learning world! I love that you open up with the demo and then explain it in my beginning layman terms! You are “the salt of the earth” keep on Rockn it!
Boom! Marty delivers big time on this one; thank you, Marty. Now I have a reason to live! Plus! I get to buy another Electric Guitar :) Rolling Stone approved, now that's huge in my books. They picked the best teacher on youtube, with no disrespect to the other greats in youtube land. Thanks again from Canada
New level in my life now unlocked. Thank you Marty & thank you Keith...Hell THANK YOU to THE Rolling Fucken Stones! 🤘 Edit: this video changed my life by the 3 minute mark.
Great lesson of a Great song! Thanks so much Marty... I sort of know "a version" of this but it's great to get the real deal. Nice of those Stones boys...
The studio recording of this song is pure genius. Not that I don't love the live versions. But on the studio recording Keith played a crappy old acoustic through a TUBE amped mini Phillips, hand-held cassette recorder, he turns the gain all the way up on the recorder so it is over driving the tube to the max. Itdoesn't sound like an acoustic, but it doesn't have the obnoxious mids and highs of a traditional distorted electric. So Keith manages to get a heavy aggressive hard rock sound without stepping on the vocals or snare. It slides into the mix PERFECTLY.....Now, I've never gotten 100% confirmation. But I believe that IS Brian playing the other part. He's playing a distorted electric, that excetuates the power chords and riff, and then goes into a country "chicken picking" lead line in the chorus. To create separation, Brian (I think it's Brian) plays the rung out power chords in standard tuning, but with this voicing. He frets the B and F# on the hight E and B strings, then adds a lower B on the 9th fret of the D string. The guitar vibe in this song is a completely original sounding, hard rock masterpiece. Glam and Punk were invented on the same day when the Stones dropped this track.
@@MartyMusic Well you nailed it with the Schwarzinator! When I first heard this lesson I thought it was a tube amp. I have been struggling to get a tone like this on my Katana 100 mkii. You can get close, but the Katana doesn't quite get that sound you get from a good valve amp just on the edge of breakup. If you have any influence with Boss, please try to get them to improve this on the next version. Or work with their geniuses to get a good patch. Thanks, this is a great lesson and Kudos to you for getting sponsorship from the Stones!!!
Reminder: there is an interesting live version with Keith and Bryan playing in standard tuning in Rock and Roll Circus in 1969. It also sounds good, although slightly different.
Great tutorial as usual. To sound right though. Play on a $5 acoustic ar 2am to a tape recorder, then replay on another tape player with a blown speaker volume on10. Add bass and vocals. Yerwelcome
🎶Mar-tay!🎶 I was just looking up your lesson on "Satisfaction" when I saw this. Of course I watched this one right away. Wow! It's genius. It's almost like cheating but it is not cheating. It's well thought out tunings. Genius! Thank you Rolling Stones. Thank you Mar-tay!🎶... 😎✨

Marty Rocks!
Been a year and 3 months for me and if wasn't for marrty in those first few months 🤘🏽

That’s a really good idea.
The king of rythym
To have The Rolling Stones ask you to teach their song. The feels you must’ve had. Long live Uncle Keef
Keith may have wanted the lesson for himself, so he can remember how to play it.

great that the rolling stones actually promote Marty teaching their own songs. alot of bands would just claim it.

Probably my favourite lesson ever. Thanks Marty 🤙🏼
Hello Marty i come from Germany and i think you are the best Lesson man.
Thank you🤗
The original recording has the capo on 3rd fret for anyone wandering, this is how they play it live
09:10 so thats where bohemian like you comes from
great stuff Marty and love the shouting of "riff" before launching into it 😄
If an alien asked me "what is rock and roll" and I wasn't allowed to show them an ACDC song, I'd show them this song
Great lesson of a Great song! Thanks so much Marty...
I sort of know "a version" of this but it's great to get the real deal.
Nice of those Stones boys...
Marty your lessons are great & when you unexpectedly do something funny it's a blast

Dude you just became a legend 😅❤
Hey Marty how’s it going, been learning bunches from you thanks man
I follow you from Argentina. You are the best
Try standard tuning and capo the 7th.
E-G-D-A and pull-offs all within the first 3 frets can get you easily rockin' this tune.
Wow, you da man Marty. You have arrived with this sponsored lesson. Rock-on my brother.
The original guitar teacher 🤘
The versions on "Four Flicks" DVD are some of the best versions with the extended musical outros.
Greetings from the beautiful Würzburg

Loved the editing on this, thanks for the lesson as always Marty!
I am from austria. I like you videos

Also congrats on the sponsor
If you are going to do more Rolling Stones tracks, PLEASE do Midnight Rambler. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 PLEASE!
First time i have ever been so early on a video
More Stones please!!!!!
Have you ever considered making tutorials for some of the more popular Switchfoot songs like Meant To Live or Dare You To Move?
One of my fave quotes is by Richards, "If it sounds good play it, if it doesn't sound good don't play it!" Wise advice me thinks. Thanks Marty.
Sounds great, Marty! Thanks! :)
Amazing !! Thanks Marty it's great to learn that !! And You're a Legend, you too
Thank you!!!!! Love this soundtrack!!!

I was just looking up your lesson on "Satisfaction" when I saw this.
Of course I watched this one right away. Wow! It's genius. It's almost like cheating but it is not cheating. It's well thought out tunings. Genius!
Thank you Rolling Stones. Thank you Mar-tay!🎶... 😎✨
It sounds off to me, maybe I’m crazy, but I can’t help but wonder if it would sound better in open D or E, which I thought was the key it was composed in. It sounds close capoed in open G but I’m convinced it’s off. When he plays it live there’s a whole band backing him, but solo sounds finny
It was recorded funny
in open G tuning, the capo on 4, the d string would be f# not G. so strings 5,4,3 would be d f# and b
Nice tele!
Sponsored by The Rolling Stones, WOW Cool!
Wow! I’m impressed!
Another great video! Orange Crush or Whats The Frequency Kenneth by REM would be a good one!
