Trish as a Mexican I can say it’s better to just use tooth picks to shut the tortillas. That’s what we do. Less of a hassle. Also toast your rice more. We do it until the rice is toasted to a golden to brown. Use chicken broth and put 2 tomatoes in the blender and add the chicken powder with 2 cloves of garlic and a chunk of onion and blend it. Then add the blended liquid to the fried rice it should sizzle a lot. Then add more salt or chicken powder to your taste and u can also add a bit of tomato paste and stir it in. cover once it’s boiling and you know the rest.
Try serving your flautas with some drizzled sour cream and crumbled queso fresco and salsa. Yum

Growing up my mom rarely made us instant meals. She cooked everything and being from HI we grew up with really diverse palates. Now that I have a son, my husband and I did baby led weaning so he eats the same as us and has since 6 mos old. All types of spice, flavors, meats, veggies, fruits, etc. I think if you offer a variety, they will eat a variety. Unless of course they have real sensory issues or food refusal. Thankfully my son is almost a year and a half and eats really well.

Trisha as a Mexican myself, just microwave the tortillas barely so they can fold then when you fill in the tortillas just close in half don't roll them, it's just easier and filling won't spill out or open up.

  • @nyssm9055

Try warming up the tortillas in the microwave first, they crack when they’re cold, also instead of using corn starch you can insert a tooth pick to hold it in and you can also just fold the tortilla in half like a taco it’s a bit easier aka tacos dorados de papa:)

    Tips for this recipe :
Instead of instant potatoes, use those ready made mashed potatoes in the refrigerated isle. Or better yet bake off some potatoes, scrape out potato to use in recipe. Throw some diced Serrano or jalapeno peppers in. Or corn, use Mexican cheeses. The cornstarch mixture should be like soft butter. Spread it on the lip of the tortillas. Use flour tortillas they won't rip or tear. Too fill fast, lay tortillas out place one down, add next one 3 inches down instead of exactly on top. Keep doing this with each tortilla until it makes a long row. Paint the cornstarch on the exposed parts of each tortilla until the top one and only apply to last 3 inches of tortilla. Starting with top tortilla, lay filling and roll, pick up place on a tray, fill next one. And so on until all are filled. Don't lay out tortillas and paint with sticky mix until you have filling ready to go and a pan to put rolled tortillas. Work quickly to roll them b4 sticky mix dries. That's how it's done in restaurants, you can also use a toothpick to keep tortillas rolled and can be kept in while cooking. Just don't forget to remove toothpick b4 eating. These are super good with queso sauce. Yum
How do you know when they are done? Go by color, golden or tap on it, if it feels hard shell like its ready. If not cook longer. If they aren't cooked long enough they can be chewy not crispy.

While it’s not going to happen in like an hour or anything. It’s all in babies time. She could continue to progress or she could stay at 1 centimeter for days to even weeks. Simply stating it’s all on babies time. Could she continue to dilate and have baby in a day or less sure. But likely not most times when it’s your first child it does take longer. I have 4 kids and each one of my births were so very different.

Trish when you measure you need to flatten the contents to be exactly a tbs, tsp, cup, etc. So, the first tablespoon you grabbed of corn starch grab a butter knife and slide it against the top of the tablespoon to flatten it out and that's exactly a tbs. As far as the corn tortillas I heat up some oil and quickly flip them in the oil and stack them on a plate. This is to keep them from tearing. Then I fill and roll them. I don't use toothpicks I just place them seam side down until they crisp up. They will stay in place afterwards. You can use flat toothpicks to secure them when frying and keep them from tearing. Hope that helps.

Honestly I HATE cooking but ever since Trish started making this videos and giving us a voice to the ppl that can’t chop things or burn everything I now try to follow her recipes and cook for my husband 😂 and I’m really enjoying it. I love having someone make a real cooking video and it’s not aesthetic and perfect it’s just real life cooking I love it 🤍🥹
    Thanks Trisha 🥰🫶🏼✨

    Warning ⚠️ Long comment!! Lol
Yay..literally her cooking series on her channel is my favorite thing that Trish does. She's came so far with her cooking abilities. I love you Trish. Can't wait for her baby to arrive. I've only been watching her since her and Moses moved in together and I've became such a big fan of hers. I could care less about her past so pls don't attack me in response comments. I feel as tho everytime I say I like her the haters come for me. Most people have a past I couldn't imagine my past mistakes being thrown up in my face constantly. People grow...people change...I wish haters would realize that and grow up. They trash talk her about her her past but yet they do the same thing to her as she supposedly did to others....but than again they also make her money. Because the comments, people watching her videos etc. put her videos in the algorithm which makes more people see her videos....with that being said the haters are making our girl money. Lololololol I love her and Moses...pls keep dropping your cooking videos they're awesome!!!
As far as the cornstarch water mixture that's exactly how it's suppose to look. It's such a strange consistency but that's what it does. It's like the strangest thing. Lol I remember first time I did water and cornstarch I felt I did something wrong lol but nope it's just weird. Lolololol Trish there is lots of copycat Red Lobster biscuits recipes on RUclips. I'd love to see you do them!!!!! Yum they're my favorite biscuits hands down. I love that lately Moses always says..."it's better than what we get at the restaurant" just means that Trish is rocking out her recipes. ❤ Also children's palettes are what you make them. If you start them off on veggies they normally will like them and continue to eat them.

It looks good. Start your baby with fruits and veggies as they start eating puree. Introduce them as much veggies and they will grow loving fruits and veggies. Kids are picky eater because parents allow them to be and are picky eater themselves. My kids love their fruits and veggies, they preferred over junk food. Like I honeslty buy chips, cookies, and candies, they eat it once or twice then let it get stale, gross, and harden in the pantry. I always end up throwing them out. But when it comes to veggies, they will eat a platter full in a hour

If you warm up your tortillas a bit it makes it so they don’t crack! Just throw it in a hot pan for a bit, the microwave, or even over the flame really quick
