    I’m always confused when I hear the numbers 1-10 retain their tah-marbuTa, like in phrases with إيام. I hear almost exclusively أربعة ايام and خمسة ايام. It’s definitely like that in Syria, but I’m not sure about Palestine. Thoughts?

      the words ayyām (days) & ašhor (months) - & sometimes alāf (thousands) - are unique cases where the word seems to start with [t] (as in xams-t-iyyām or xams-t-ošhor). see the Wiktionary entry for any of these words for more information & audio samples.
