And VAL means Best By which it's expiration date of the product. Some packages don't contain these, instead it gives the description "Consuma em X dias" (Consume in X days).
Also they have a rather short life, even shorter after some crusade on preserving agents. Same with the Pipoca Doce, those are hit or miss depending on brand but even the best will have a soft and stale feel well before expiration date.

Okay, so "pé de moleque" (a brat or a kid's foot) is in fact a weird fucking name and since I was a kid, I always thought they were called that because the peanuts covered in the brown sugar thing (rapadura) reminded people of the way a child's dirty foot looks after playing in the dirt or something like that. (something like "Just ask for it, brat!"), so after the candy in itself ended up being called that. Due to "pé de" and "pede" sounding identical, people just started thinking it meant the former and writing and it like that (and tbh, who can blame them, the wrong one, wihle weird is at least the name of something, the supposedly "right" way is an exclamation).

"Pé de moleque" is a word play. It literally translates to "Boy's foot", but if you write "Pede moleque" it becomes somewhat of "Just ask, boy!" , since the stories of this candy are about ladies that made them hot and left on the window to cool down, and kids would run up to steal the candy. They shouted, "Don't steal, just ask, boy!" or "Não roube, pede moleque!"

FINNI BISSSS!! Loved the video but you should taste more regional snacks like Bala de Café, Brigadeiro, Goiabinha, Bala de Banana, Pralinê, Mandolate, Beijinho, Quindim, Cocada. We do like chocolate a lot but we have a lot of different snack types. You probably already know by now but yes, they are all very sugary.
"skid ... it looks like the ingredients are farinhah de treago and replaceadida" 😂😂. "not into that shrimp stink" me neither. as a kid I ate some, liked the weird taste, but never got over the stink. "lacta shot ... I hope your mind went to the place mine went to" 😂😂😂😂. shame there were no salty ones.
Im impressed by how many different sweets/treats he tasted. Usually people only go Paçoca and Bis. I was surprised to see Trento since its much more recent than the other ones.
When he said "lettuce begin" for a snack review, then played a literal country genre anthem, I felt that. Also, funny thing he said "cardboard", because we cursed a brand Friboi for years calling their meat "carne papelão"
So weird how depending on the person giving, the list of snacks varies a lot. Some of these I have never heard of and yet someone considered them essential brazilian snacks
Two possible reasons for the origin of the "pé-de-moleque", both from the colonial era: * Kids often stole those sweets back then so much, the women who made them started telling them "pede, moleque!" ("ask for it, brat!", as in "stop stealing it and ask for it if you want it so much") * Building street pavements by means of literal child slave labor 💀

@@phili.9304 thank you!
Thanks for the list
You're a G for this. Was looking for that song at the 19 minute mark
Your tastebuds are going to Brazil.
As always, it feels uncanny to see Vinesauce Vinny talking out of his real mouth
This is the only video i shared to my mother since she is a sucker for brazilian snacks...
Edit: She kept laughing hard so thank you Vinny
him saying "it's chunks!" with THAT mario galaxy song... so, CHUNKS, huh?
Vinny always wears something on his head when he's on camera to hide the giant glowing final boss weak spot on the top of his head
Vinny has been exiled to Brazil.
just like napoleon
A fate worse than death
You mean blessed.

Mandaram comidas pro Vinny! Parabéns a todos os envolvidos!
So tinha que comer comida de verdade ne, infelizmente so conseguem enviar essas porcarias q são gostosas mas mt longe do q a culiniaria brasileira pode oferecer
Unfortunately in the shipping + time sitting until he makes a video real food would spoil so little packaged snacks are all that can make it
Vinny veio pro Brasil e cantou "Heloísa, mexe a cadeira"!
Referência de velho
pqp infame demais kkkkk
I'm glad Brazil has finally come to Vinny.
Too bad there was no bananada, but at least he had some paçoca.
I loved how u nailed the pronunciation of paçoquinha
And oh, pls, come to Brasil 🇧🇷
Damn Vinny is aging backwards I swear
Why is he so....cute? and oh Vinny is there too

Oh you we're talking about the alien lol
No bananinha? No goiabada? No fandangos? Not even a cocada? What a sin.
Also, no Sugar Brick Rapadura. :(
22:42 Whoever edited in Eddy Gordo's theme from Tekken 3, you are a fucking legend.
Oh shit, I thought that I recognized it from somewhere. At first thought it was Jet Set Radio, but I remember it from a Corruptions stream by Vinny!
Vinny didn’t just go to Brazil, he had Brazil brought to him. How thoughtful!
As someone from Argentina I enjoyed that you liked the Tortuga from Arcor!
Never had any idea that arcor is from argentina!

I hope your mind went to the place mine went to" 😂😂😂😂.
shame there were no salty ones.
there were some salty ones, like Torcida, but yeah... wish they sent some Nego Bom
Vinny obtaining diabetes via my favorite candies, seems fun
I just got back from watching the best of Grey Leno. Everything feels different now.
music at 19:06 through 22:39
honestly the entire playlist for this video is a banger, wish the musics was posted
It's from Metal Gear Solid 3. Was one of the radio music songs titled "Sea Breeze"

As vezes parece q so tem brasileiro vendo 😂
Im impressed by how many different sweets/treats he tasted. Usually people only go Paçoca and Bis. I was surprised to see Trento since its much more recent than the other ones.
In portuguese, if you have "nh" you pronounce like the "gn" in italian/french or the "ñ" in spanish. Just think of Ronaldinho.
When he said "lettuce begin" for a snack review, then played a literal country genre anthem, I felt that.
Also, funny thing he said "cardboard", because we cursed a brand Friboi for years calling their meat "carne papelão"
2:24 but these shrimp fresh?
"PACO-QUEEN-HA"
So weird how depending on the person giving, the list of snacks varies a lot. Some of these I have never heard of and yet someone considered them essential brazilian snacks
Two possible reasons for the origin of the "pé-de-moleque", both from the colonial era:
* Kids often stole those sweets back then so much, the women who made them started telling them "pede, moleque!" ("ask for it, brat!", as in "stop stealing it and ask for it if you want it so much")
* Building street pavements by means of literal child slave labor 💀
Really sacred he was going to miss out on the most iconic stuff. Ouro branco and sonho de valsa.
Vinny, you did It
You've summoned ALL of your Brazilian fans
Now...
You Just need to...

I've never seen your face before but you look amazing. Even better than I expected.
