Brahdah Led played at my hale for my 50th Birthday surprise! Will never forget it and thenks to Michelle for surprising me! Luv you honey!..oh! Brahdah Led too!
aloha, you are so lucky. i miss Hawaii a lot. One of the best places i have ever been to. i am fortunate to have been there many times over the years. First time I was there when I was at University in California.
Thank you dearest cilla alain...It is always so meaningful to hear them again...and I love the hula dancer...I remember the scent in the air...I miss Maui... Aloha...
I love this! Classic Hawaiian which I was taught some about in the forties & fifties when studying the Hawaiian Electric Steel Guitar. The singing, instrumentation and the Hula is just perfect🥇
My dogs name is Kona, he died last year of cancer at 15 he was the best dog ever and i wish he is still alive, he had weird breathing and would breath really weird when everyone was going crazy, i miss him.
The dancer is exquisite. You can SEE and feel the real true aloha in her smile, her moves, her hands. No ugly there at all. The dress would be pretty, but it would only add a tiny bit to the amazing flow of the message inside her dance.
@@edgardolopez1862 True indeed. I bet she is of Filipino origin. I was amazed how many Hawaiian musicians are at least partly Pinoy. Filipinos are adicted to music and dancing. I must know: My wife I married over thirty years ago is a musician and my daughter as well. Filipinas are dancing Hawaiian dances to this day: In Manila and in Europe as well.
"Keep your eyes on the hands." With all due respect to Brother Led--and I'm a real fan of the master--it's awfully difficult to keep my eyes on his mastery of the slack key guitar in this wonderful video. The beautiful hula dancer completely steals the show. (BTW, she is my re-model contractor's niece.) Aloha!
It's a great song what the guys do.... but i love to see the dancer. Now is ten years ago, can i ask, what the dancer ist doing now' Mahalo for sharing this great music.
I don't know what to say, other than I will watch and listen to this 100 more times ! edit - I've passed 100 and am adjusting my predicted views to 1,000
Ledward playing with an incredibly sensuous dancer who embodies this beautiful music. His great voice and slack-key guitar have few peers. Looks like she belongs to the bass player.
The young lady doing the Hula should have some recognition for she is in deed fantastic. I agree that she is not dressed in clothing that would accentuate her performance however, I loved it all. The music with the hula, just perfecto!
You are absolouty correct! Led Kaapana did not write "I Kona" However, he does a fantastic rendition of it. The lovely hula dancer is Hypnotic! Composed in 1929, the lyrics were given to George Naope by James Kelepolo in the early 1980s. The mele expresses the composer's love for Kona on the Island of Hawaiʻi and the reason he moved there.
Hawaii and it’s music must be preserved
Probably something about the Hawaiian music that feels so unique?

I Kona at it’s best by Kaapana. The Crown song for the Hula. This is how it is done, the Hawaiian way.

The dancer is exquisite. You can SEE and feel the real true aloha in her smile, her moves, her hands. No ugly there at all. The dress would be pretty, but it would only add a tiny bit to the amazing flow of the message inside her dance.

Should have given the dancer a film credit at end. And that bass....7string? Reminds me of Jean Butler dancing with the Chieftans.

Actually, I think James Kelipolo wrote the song. Nice cover, though. Where's the third verse?
So the graceful hula dancer gets no credits at the end? She was really good. What a shame.

If there were a god, the god's voice would be exactly like Ka'apana's.
I’m so fortunate to be related to these amazing voices

Spongebob? :v
in my opinion the dress is too short
I know we aren't supposed to talk bad about body types. However she is too skinny for me. MEAT is essential to every man's diet! lol
