  • After some time away from the woods dealing with some life challenges, I set off on a much needed 2 night 3 day solo trip. This one was incredible as it was my first time solo paddling. I faced some heavy rain, some sunshine, good eats and many moments of relaxation. Enjoy!
I’ve linked a “Buy Me a Coffee” below for anyone who would like to make a contribution that helps me cover the costs of making these videos:

For the record, it was 24 bottles of water and a 75lb fiberglass canoe which is easier than saying no to a pregnant woman…😜

Those 24 water bottles saved my fetus self from infectious parasites, and instead provided me with dashing good looks and drive for adventure!

Hi Ben! Another great video. I was wondering if you could talk a bit about how you deal with loneliness when out on your extended trips? I'm a fairly experienced weekend backpacker and have done plenty of 1-3 night treks on my own, but I have my first real thru-hike coming up where I'll likely see very few people for up to two weeks! I'll be downloading plenty of audiobooks/music to keep me entertained, but just wanted to know if you had any tips for staying sane when it's just you and the woods.

My husband and I are excited to see there’s another pelican kayaker who uses it to portage! Ours are 10 foot deals from Costco. lol. But we’ve got the packing down to an art and he even build homes which we use to portage the boats! Keep in keeping it really! We appreciate what we’ve got, simple as it is! 🏕️

So cool! That is actually my dad’s kayak that he so generously lent me for that trip. I’ve since got myself a more traditional tripping canoe as it’s just a better fit for the things I do. I will say though I absolutely love the Pelican kayak for shorter trips and there’s no beating it in terms of durability for the price. Thanks for watching!

LMAO my bad, at the time I had thought I found a secret gem but now I’m not trying to be a gatekeeper. It’s the Frost Centre part of HHWT. That was “Dan Lake” and it’s actually quite a popular spot… I must’ve thought I was being slick or something

@@benbeauchamp16 Lol. I wasn’t trying to be a dick but I just don’t understand why people don’t say where they are. I get it if it’s a crown land spot and it’s clean and you want to keep it that way. I get it. But this was bookable sites that other people could book if they like what they see. It would probably help you get more likes and subscribers. I have a cottage 2min to the Frost Centre and I had no idea where you were. How cool is that.?
