on fretless basses you can finger the string after playing a natural harmonic and it’ll still sustain, he played a harmonic and then fingered and went up the string
This video is a masterclass in bass playing. Kudos man, this is something all bassists should aspire to. Also, what exactly are you doing at 2:28? Is that like a natural harmonic then you push down and slide it? And it's still a harmonic?
Absolutely blistering cover! Great tone/technique etc. Are there any tips or exercises you would recommend to develop the right hand, particularly with regard to three-finger plucking? Keep up the great work.
practising right hand is purely sitting being patient with a metronome dude. i found this is a great exercise from adam nitti ruclips.net/video/DaKhAhftWMA/видео.html&ab_channel=AdamNittiMusic
cheers mate! i only use the bridge pickup as i get a more tight attack with the right hand, and produces more of that fretless "mwah". I've boosted the onboard mids a bit, and boosted everything from 250Hz to 1.5Kh on my Darkglass head's clean channel. i find using both pickups has a naturally scooped tone, so i avoid it when playing the fretless.

Hey man I basically have the same bass model as you but fretted. Did you defret your 6 string through a luthier/yourself or was their a fretless model? Just bought my first fretless fender jazz bass and if I like it im thinking of defretting my 6 string but need opinons.
hey mate, i bought this bass as a fretless model (ibanez BTB845f) if you know the right luthier who will do it right then absolutely do it i reckon! a fretless 6 string will definitely be my next buy. but i personally would rather just buy an already fretless bass instead of defretting one, however fretless 6 strings are hard to come by so i reckon go for it dude. what bass is it?
i play defretted ones and had great results. Sean Malone's yamaha main bass was also defretted so that says something. It certainly works. However, you need a Luthier to firstly tell you if it makes sense for that particular bass of yours, soundwise, and secondly also to do a good job.
been using the stock d'addario strings that came with the bass when i got it, about 3 months old in this clip. don't know why i till haven't gotten a new set on there yet lmao
