As a nurse I've used the vein viewer several times (in the hospital we call it the vein finder). I have mixed feelings about it. It sometimes helps to find the vein, but even when it does, it doesn't show how deep the vein is or where the needle is in proximity to the vein. It also essentially becomes useless if the patient's veins roll. Another problem with it is the light that it shines is obstructive to the needle. The way nurses know we're in the vein is when blood travels up the needle to the port that sits outside the skin, but we need to be able to see that blood, and the light from the vein finder is so bright and green, it's very hard to see that blood come through. Don't get me wrong, the vein finder helps sometimes, but many of us only use it as a last resort.
I was in the hospital in 2021, and they tried to use a vein finder on me. It did not go well. They had to stick me four or five times to actually hit a vein. It was kind of messy.
I’ve got great veins and never minded being a pin cushion for someone training, but I met one 2nd lieutenant who shouldn’t be allowed needles. 😂😂 That finder couldn’t help her. 😂
I have what a nurse once called "deep veins". During two hospitalizations in the last 12 years, and blood draws for Coumadin blood thinner, I have had experiences at both ends of the scale - some nurses are very good and I barely felt it, while others could not find the vein and wind up moving the needle INSIDE my flesh... OUCH! A couple times I had a "blow out", resulting in a huge ugly bruise. 😢
..Interesting to hear it from a real wourld experience... ..btw dont let a doctor near when thay say thay r just going to draw a little blood, leave it to the pros aka Nurses (dont think i ever been so bruised up as when a doc 'tried' to draw blood)
My son bought me an Ember mug and coaster as a birthday gift a couple years ago. I work from home, so I have it on my desk, and I use it almost every day. I had no idea it cost so much. But regardless of the price, it's one of my favorite things any of my kids has ever bought me, and since I would otherwise have to go reheat my tea 3-4 times before I drank it all, it's incredibly helpful, as well! It's wonderful, too, to have a son who's so good to his mama.
I cannot imagine how it takes so long to drink such a small mug of tea...I'd be filling that back up at least 4x an hour. I just keep a kettle on my desk for that reason.
Our local hospital's ER had one of the devices that detects the blood veins several years ago, but it was hand-held. Which I guess was an issue because someone walked off with it and they've not replaced it.
The most leftover toothpaste I have is in the area around the cap, so Two Way Toothpaste doubles that, even though it halves the effort to get from back to front. You can eventually get to that stuff, but not the bit near the cap.
Just get some scissors and cut the top of the toothpaste tube off and cut down the sides and open the tube right out. Then store it all in a plastic bag so it doesn't dry out.
Really love the vein finder thing :3 we need that in *ALL* hospitals!!! The amount of times I've been jabbed because they can't find my veins is horrible.
It doesn't work well. I was in the hospital 6 years ago, and after multiple tries, the nurse got the vein finder. The nurses still had a hard time and finally quit with the vein finder. On the other hand, the nurse at my regular doctor's office can stick me first time every time.
AI TTS has been a thing since at least the early 1980s, when I began working with computers. They haven't got it right yet. Some seem to have regressed. 😮
Blimey, a tonne of amazing things here 😮 The Foodini looks curious but as someone who was on Cat C pureed food only for seven years, texture within food is so crucial. I was going Insane for texture, there was no crunch or chew and those are actually part of the body recognising eating, I was absolutely starving hungry and so fed up with horrendous preformed gross meals, no matter how nutritionally rich they apparently were 😔 The loo roll capsules is a great idea severely let down by not being flushable which is deranged. We already have the sewerage systems jammed with wet wipes because people insist on flushing them too. Plus the capsules need to be in a vessel of water to expand, many a place where you would need them wouldn't have that facility in the first place 😕 The vein finder one seems fascinating, I have to have a lot of blood tests, this could be quite beneficial and could well lead the way for further applications within this field. Flippin great video, cheers me dears ❤
Took three attempts last week for the nurse to find a vein, when I needed blood drawn for testing. She finally had to resort to the back of my right hand. I'm fortunate to have a high pain tolerance, so a needle prick is easily bearable without much effort, BUT that doesn't mean I particularly enjoy it.
Also: That knee seat is a great idea but with my 30 years in the work force I can't bend my knees that much at all 😂 to get up wouldn't be much easier then by not using it and I stead just protecting my knees with regular protectors. But for anyone just starting to work it would be a great way to not get where I am in the first place. And those solar panels to recharge devices: With such small panels it will take years to fully charge. The has to be something fishy about what the developer says it can deliver. And the Glow in the dark TP? For sure better for the environment and more healthy then untreated TP...

If it actually worked. I was in the hospital, and the nurses couldn't find a vein and brought in the vein finder. They still couldn't find one. They got rid of the vein finder, and after a lot of tries, they finally got the IV in. I went home with bruises all over both arms.
@@bite-sizedshorts9635 THEY need to go back to medical school, pronto! You got to insert the syringe in shallow and use two tourniquets if need be to hold the vein steady like they do for me.
As a healthcare professional, I've used a vein pro, but different branded name. Frankly it is of some help, but really does not substitute for competence. Lol yeah no chance it becomes part of every household, like the microwave. Delusional inventors. It's GREAT for restaurants with a gimmick. Like, a place where you choose what Pokemon you want, and you eat that
yeah, I'm rather sceptical towards that too. Sure, it can print foodpaste into whatever shape the user wants, but someone who has the time and energie to turn the ingredients into paste might as well just use those ingredients to make regular food (and this would have to happen quite temporarily close to the printing process as well, since otherwise this paste would spoil pretty quick). Now, that might be different if shops start carrying professionally made foodpaste specifically for people with this thing, but that would not happen until this thing became quite common - but if a invention requieres widespread adoption to even be remotely workable, it's not going to work.

Thats a superfast charge time! 😮 Mine takes 4-5 hours to fully charge, sometimes 2 hours with a fast charger cable. There's different factors affect it I feel, length of cable charger and WiFi or mobile signal. I only have a weak mobile phone signal so that's frequently dropping off. Plus age and type of phone. @@weatherwitchandfelinefamiliars My phone is about 2 years old and I use a super fast 1.2m triple cable (it has USB, US-C and iPhone charge points) that can charge 3 devices at once. Of course, in that universe "all" of the food is replicated...unless you are uber rich, who can afford the real food. As long as it tastes good, I wouldn't care if it was replicated.
Have you ever talked about the Nuclear Car that was one of the original Flying Cars, that used a personal Nuclear Power Plant? The reason as to why it didn't become popular is simple, nobody wanted to fly around in a mobile nuclear power plant, especially with how everyone already on the road currently drives.
The only problem with Ember is that it NEEDS to stay on the cup holder because the mugs and bottles release the heat hyper quickly. BUT it is Amazing to keep at your desk! No more microwaving your coffee when you just need a swig, haha.
I’ve had that vein viewer used on me a few times. It’s really great. I am a very hard stick. It’s not just rolling veins, but I’ve been told that I have an insane amount of valves in my vascular system. Valves have to be avoided or they will be blown out by the needle. I’ve had nurses and phlebotomists have to stick me 10 or 15 times, blowing out many valves during the process, which is painful. Thankfully the valves repair themselves, but this Vein Viewer allows them to hit the vein every time. The problem is, they usually have to stick me 5 times before they decide to go get the machine. I guess when they become more common, there will be enough to go around. Anything that glows has some level of radiation. I don’t know if I’d want to wipe myself with anything radioactive over a long time. Could be problematic, but we wouldn’t know for a decade or two. I don’t want to be the first one with anal cancer when they find out that glowing toilet paper was the cause. I guess a good lawyer could get you a great settlement, but that wasn’t be worth it if you’re either dead or have an ostomy bag for life. Just buy a nightlight for your bathroom; problem solved.
I still want the Space Family Robinson's clothes washer. Dump dirty clothes in, moments later they come out the other end cleaned, pressed and plastic wrapped! 😅
My veins are hard to find. I’ve had them use this twice. It’s pretty cool BUT they find vines that are deep in muscles and it hurts really bad. One time they went through my bicep with a thick and long needle. I have a high pain tolerance and I almost cried.
I would definitely be interested in the TP tablets and love the glider shoes. That last one though? I already make meals with leftovers. They're called...LEFTOVERS! Hah! Imagine that.
The vein finder is what I need because I have crap veins. They're deep, small, they collapse and they move. At the hospital they often have to use the ultrasound to find my veins. Now if vein finder would come in a portable version that would be great. 🤔
I'm guessing the 30 second charge didn't get released due to the fact that they wouldn't have been able to solve the problem with expanding/exploding batteries before the year 2016. I'm still not fully convinced that the expanding battery problem has been solved, even if the higher end phones no longer allow you to remove the battery...
No, it hasn't. I've had two smartphones suffer overheated swollen batteries! I keep two phones in service, on different service providers. Having a backup phone has saved me several times. Being disabled, mobility-impaired and homebound, my phones are my only comms with the outside world.
I have been through several cell phones over the years; and only one real old one had a battery that swelled -- and that was after it sat around my house for SEVERAL years. So, "swelling" batteries isn't that common -- unless maybe it's on cheaper phones.
Those haptic “buttons” will have to wait for a few more advancements. With a smartphone being about 7mm thick and those buttons needing an additional 1.5mm and needing extra battery power, most people will not want them in their phone.
Had to come here just for the vein viewer. I had one used on me in the hospital several times because of several combined issues and those things are a miracle wonder to those of us who are so terrified of needles they pass out calm down a little bit. Kids find them so interesting that often times they forget they are about to get poked I was told by a nurse who used it on me. I'll never forget how it took 3 nurses and finally a doctor to get my IV needle in and 7 pokes it was pure horror and worse of all they took it out a few hrs later and released me!!!! I had been there over a week but still ugh. So many horror stories
24:40 - Food waste in our house is like 3% - everything that's not eaten eventually gets made into a stir fry and I eat it. I only don't do this when one of my family members is ill.
I had a vein viewer used on me a few years ago when I had surgery. The needle poke doesn't bother me, but when I am used as a pin cushion that annoys me.

😁👋👍👍👏👏💕🙏🏻
The last one reminded me of the cartoon The Jetsons when they dump all the food in the machine. And it would make them dinner.
I still want the Space Family Robinson's clothes washer. Dump dirty clothes in, moments later they come out the other end cleaned, pressed and plastic wrapped! 😅
@@lancerevell5979 Absolutely, I am totally on board with that. It would be great to have my own Rossie.🤣🤣😂
My veins are hard to find. I’ve had them use this twice. It’s pretty cool BUT they find vines that are deep in muscles and it hurts really bad. One time they went through my bicep with a thick and long needle. I have a high pain tolerance and I almost cried.
My mom will need those arm things for reaching the top shelf of anything 😂.
What movie is that @15:20 with the machine being lowered from a plane?
Also don't let Sawyer trick you into painting a fence for him LOL
Can you do a military power series
I would definitely be interested in the TP tablets and love the glider shoes. That last one though? I already make meals with leftovers. They're called...LEFTOVERS! Hah! Imagine that.
The vein finder is what I need because I have crap veins. They're deep, small, they collapse and they move. At the hospital they often have to use the ultrasound to find my veins. Now if vein finder would come in a portable version that would be great. 🤔
20:47 They should just have one you can fully open lengthwise when you’re at the end.
The innomake would also be perfect for a real-life Bird Box.
If you love coffee like me, just get the ember mug!
Being disabled, mobility-impaired and homebound, my phones are my only comms with the outside world.
that or its complete BS that violates the laws of physics, the only thing that company has made is a money extractor for foolish investors
yeah I really doubt that technology, I won't believe 30s
I have been through several cell phones over the years; and only one real old one had a battery that swelled -- and that was after it sat around my house for SEVERAL years.
So, "swelling" batteries isn't that common -- unless maybe it's on cheaper phones.
Those haptic “buttons” will have to wait for a few more advancements.
With a smartphone being about 7mm thick and those buttons needing an additional 1.5mm and needing extra battery power, most people will not want them in their phone.
Those parking robots are awesome.
When he said "picture this" I almost felt like he was gonna break into song about how he got caught cheating banging on the bathroom floor 😂
When you talk about yourself, it is like you are talking about ME! 🤝
Am I the only one who comes here for those crafty captions for each category? 😂😊
The vein finder doesn't work nearly as well as it's portrayed here. Honestly it only really works in situations in which you don't need it to.
The car valet is actually pretty smart
This is one time when I would prefer it over a human valet, who have been known to be careless and/or clueless with someone else's car.
12:14 I need it.
I like the ember cup....that's what I really need right now in the office
does anybody know what the movie is the scene played at the sentance: any kind of Emergency at the toilet paper section from?
I actually had the infra-red vein scanner used when i had to get an iron infusion
Where can I find that green lightning suction cup phone charger?
A couple of days ago I was on United flight (4/2024) & was pleasantly surprised to find that ever seat has a USB port.
Are travelators the same as escalators?
Escalators have steps while travelators are smooth
@@piotra.2304yes, travelators are little more than LONG ASS conveyer belts that people stand on, found in train depots and aeroports.
0:18 At least if you have a selfie toaster you can tell someone, “Eat me” (or bite) and actually mean it
