Found this knife while searching for a recommendation from a Subscriber. Made in Italy. I am very impressed. Certainly a challenger of the Opinel for me.

Good looking knife I carry an opinel edc I like the handle on the martini best!
I carry my Opinel at work etc. But I have kinda abused it..lol. but it's still going. I do think I prefer the old bear but some people say the steel is not as good as the Opie. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂
George have you ever looked at the MAM knives made in Portugal? They are very similar to the Opinal's, they are cool they even have a blade lock model all in your budget

Good knife George there isn’t much difference in shape but ! the locking mechanism is totally different a well made knife from Italy ...... I have one highly recommendable in my opinion, I skinned a muntjac deer with it no problem . Have a good day George , ps nice stick

I know I’m 2 years too late for this video but do you still use this knife? How’s it holding up? Specifically the locking mechanism. I know that for the opinels, people have mentioned that the twist lock loosens over time but I don’t think I’ve seen and long term review of the antonini to determine if this is also an issue with this knife
It has held up well. The lock has loosened a bit. But not a big deal. It's a great knife. Thanks for watching 👍
The main difference is George is the opinel knife has an edge on both sides old bear only has Edge on one side

i own both and have found the 2 to be very similar.
i think the opinel is slightly better.
the construction is more precise and holds up better over time.
my old bear has loosened up over time to where locking the blade is no longer
optional in open or closed position.
I have not had that problem with the Old Bear, but to be honest I have not used it nearly as much as my Opinels. Which have as you said stood up great. Thanks for watching, and as always be safe out there.
@@2ndchancegeorge i wouldn't go so far as to call it a problem, it's just falls short of the quality of opinels.
all in all still a very nice knife that i would recommend.
