- Italian made knives. We are looking at the Antonini Old Bear knife. This is a Knife to rival even the Opinel and that is no small feet. This knife has a brass pivot collar and a thumb slip lock. It is a thing of beauty. It is made of American walnut and 420 stainless steel.

I have 2 Old Bear knives plus an Opinel 8 - I didn't receive a holster - looking on the Antonini website I found a Biltong knife which I had to import to Australia where I live - I think it is a take off from the Okapi which had a Biltong version. The Biltong knife is about the same size as the Opinel 8..
All those knives sound great. I really like the old school knives. Thank you for watching and stay safe down under

It does but it has better wood and an easier locking mechanism. I really like this one.

Hello, I have an old bear with olive handle. Can you please advise if this oil is also good for it and what is named in order to get it? Or something else you recommend? Thanks a lot!
For any wood get mineral oil or even Singer oil. Baby oil is also the same thing but it smells better

My Old Bear was a "Montagsprodukt" (we say ist Germany, if some product is a big fail)... mondays product? 🤔 😉
First, the blade of the Antonini could be lifted approx. 0.5 cm from the handle when the twistlock was closed. Second, the built-in slider in the brass sleeve on my model was so short that it kept getting stuck.

Unfortunately it's without subtitles.
However, these problems are known with this model.
As a long-time modder, I've never had a problem with an Opinel.
That's why I didn't have a good opinion of the Old Bear.
After various reviews of other RUclipsrs about the Old Bear, I made my peace with the Antonini brand.
Nevertheless, there are slight reservations, as for me, firstly, Opinel offers the better overall concept, secondly, it is better processed and thirdly, the stand version costs only about half of an Antonini.
I am probably one of the few who think the Virobloc security ring is much better than the twistlock.
