I wrote the lyrics about a person pretends to be okay and who laughs and is unable to tell others that they are hurting and sad, by comparing them to a streetlight. Even if others will not be able to solve all the problems, it feels lighter and more bearable after telling others about your concerns. Honestly, before writing this song, I had a time where I was unable to tell someone that I was struggling alone, but after writing the lyrics and going to record [the song], I felt a sense of relief and comfort as if I went and told someone [of my struggles] I really hope and would like that everyone who listened to this song will find someone to always share the burden [pain] and someone who will always listen to them no matter what. Stray kids really write amazing and deep words even in " happy" songs. I think one of the most beautiful lyrics of stray kids that personally I feel a lot is from their song Silent Cry. Those lyrics are just beautiful to me.

Fwiw, Chan was involved in all three of these -- his dance cover, producing and singing background on "Streetlight," and producing "Close." The only original SKZ-Record/Player song I can think of that he hasn't been involved in is Hyunjin's "Little Star." Part of the reason for Chan covering the "My House" dance is because SKZ as a group covered the whole thing in a live performance, and a couple of the 2PM sunbaes/friends of Chan's stopped by to work directly with him on the choreo. So doing a mini cover here was kind of a respectful nod to them. If you want a Chan vocal, his "I Hate to Admit" (인정하기 싫어) is divine (you'll need to look up lyrics separately, unfortunately). Unfortunately most of the older SKZ-Records/Players don't have subs, but the latest few did, so I'm hoping that's gonna be a regular thing now. It definitely always pays to check on each video, just in case. I'm glad you checked out the lyrics vids. Something to notice is the lack of gender. They don't assign genders to the people they sing to (or perform for, hence the reason they say "Stays and baby Stays" now, since Chan became conscious of the fact that not all fans are "babygirls" and it hurt some people to be disregarded. Heteronormativity exists, so most straight people simply assume "guy performing for girl" (eg, your comment about _girls_ rather than _people_ swooning over Chan's dance), but SKZ don't specify, which leaves their music accessible/relatable to those of us who aren't straight, aren't girls, or aren't either, and that's one of the many things about their music that many of us love and are grateful for. The "Streetlight" lyrics came directly from Changbin at a time when he was at a really low, dark point. The blue paint moments in the video are references to the Blue Tree Project, which is a mental health awareness organization that was sparked by the untreated illness and subsequent suicide of someone the founders loved. So, yeah, it's a powerful, intense song. (He uses this imagery again in "Ex," btw.) "Close" is the first in Han's trilogy about this story. Next is "Wish You Back," then "HaPpY" (both of which have engsubs). I recommend both. I also recommend Han's "Alien," which, along with "Streetlight," is one of my main comfort songs when my brain is out of control. Having a group whose members aren't afraid to share their mental-health issues in their songs is surprisingly comforting; they've stated more than once that they want their work to remind others that they've gone through the same thing and we're not alone, and they fulfill that goal. You still haven't heard much of their work, and most of what you've heard is the title tracks and main b-sides, which aren't usually very inner-focused. Once you start working through the other stuff, you're going to find a LOT that deals with that "real stuff" you talked about. Mental illness, loneliness, apathy, suicidal ideation, bullying, confusion about yourself, feeling lost, anxiety, being alienated or outsiders, outside voices and judgment, trying to move forward despite pain, etc. All of 3RACHA contribute to those lyrics (especially in the actual 3RACHA tracks outside SKZ), but Changbin and Han in particular dive into a lot of it. SLUMP, Mirror, Phobia, Voices, TMT, M.I.A., Scars, Secret Secret, Silent Cry, Awaken, Chronosaurus, 42... Seriously, the list just goes on and on.

Han "close" is a song about his social anxiety. It was hard for him to approach or talk to someone who he doesn't close to but at the same time they want to know them more. The lyrics kinda looked like a love confession from afar, because he said he was inspired of the movie and there was a quote that said "you had me at hello" which was seen at the end of the mv too!
what's funny about han writing close was that he said he cant sing it live cause it's so high but then he proceeds to write alien (another one of his skz player) which is higher. x.x and changbin's Streetlight does hit different. idk if its a good thing to find it comforting knowing that i'm not the only one who feels the same way as the person in the song is singing about. and also the tree with blue paint in the m/v is connected with the blue tree project that aims to start convesations of mental health.

This song really has a special place in my heart alongside ‘alien’ by han and even some skz tracks where they talk about similar topics - I admire them for that a lot.
