What you said is 100% true regarding Dax, some of these reactors are part of the problem with musicians getting more credit than they deserve. Lyrically he’s pretty trash. I get his music connects with some people, and he should get props for that, but let’s not pretend like his lyrics aren’t extremely basic and bottom of the bottom tier in relation to most underground rappers. I wouldn’t say he’s a talented writer at all. His metaphors and similes are elementary level. I just find that most of his fans don’t listen to that much hip hop and aren’t aware of the hundreds of thousands of dope artists in the hip hop landscape, so they think he’s some sort of lyrical god when he’s not even close when you compare him to the entirety of the hip hop landscape. He’s bottom of the bottom tier in comparison to most lyrical rappers. Dax is the type of rapper that top tier and mid tier lyricists make fun of. But if you like his music, then by all means, enjoy.
