I love this series keep 'em coming! Well.. not too quickly lol I'm going to be kinda sad when you finish all of the past seasons and this becomes a biannual occurrence.
Interesting! I just finished watching this season, and felt Amanda was robbed of the win. She played a far better game than Todd. As often happens, women will be judged more harshly for the same actions as men. If a man lies and connives, he’s seen as a great strategic competitor, but if a women does the same, then she’s seen as a bitch and just a liar.
I think the reason Courtney is my favorite character is because no other person has ever wanted to be on survivor so little and still somehow stumbled their way to the end. Except maybe Sugar? But Courtney’s acidic personality is just *chef’s kiss*
Man...those clips of Todd broke my heart. But OF COURSE Dr. Phil took advantage of and manipulated a guest. That's his M.O. It's good to hear Todd is doing well now.
seeing the clips of todd when he was on dr. phil was absolutely heartbreaking. i’m so glad he turned his life around and is finally sober. one of my all time favorite winners ❤
Yeah.. that whole situation was so fcked up and just sad. I've never struggled with alcoholism, but I am a recovering heroin addict (clean 10 years this november) and I imagine it's somewhat similar, addiction is addiction. I literally can't even imagine what that would be like. To be so exploited during your worst moments. Dr. Phil is a piece of sht.
Honestly this is the season with the myth, the icon, the legend Amanda Kimmel. Literally STILL has records to her name and sadly would be a very pivotal character for survivor had she stuck around. Her performance in H v V was the only one threatening enough to beat any villain had she got to the end but we all know Candace…
@@TheMagicAlexMan I don't think she's as great as this person is making her out to be, but she's definitely not one of the worst characters on the show. Plus, she was actually a pretty solid player.
@@TheMagicAlexMand you watch? She controlled the heroes with JT hands down, and literally fought over the clue until production forced her to give it back. Had she got to the final three she wins, the heroes jury majority ALREADY confirmed she was the one to win.
@@tmm4195 she has a back to back finalist journey, meaning her second season was off pure instincts and not with tips on how to change your gameplay. She did amazing playing an idol, winning multiple immunities and controlling the majority of the pregame on literally all her seasons.
i think what Fairplay was saying about James and Amanda was true. i remember reading back 10 years ago how Amanda thought she won and was playing in Micronesia like a winner. i do believe James admitted to being voted out with 2 idols. when Erik is voted and James had the one liner of the century, the jury responses showed they knew what he was talking about.
@@jeanpauleksteen i don’t think that was really talked about. it should be noted that Micronesia was supposed to be All Stars 2 and former winners (such as Tom) were contacted but a lot of people said no.
The funny thing about Denise’s story is that when I was a production assistant on reality tv (a show very similar to Big Brother with people trapped on a soundstage together) & i worked in both the kitchen feeding the crew & also had to scrub toilets haha so there are jobs that have both, just maybe not hers lol. My father works as a custodian at a school but he also does maintenance so maybe some schools do double dip? Glad to hear she donated the money either way but knowing how low those jobs pay, can’t really be mad at her for trying her best to get whatever she could during her 15 min of fame 🤷🏼♀️ it’s a cutthroat world out there & i think her heart was in the right place trying to do right by her family, but wish she didn’t have to lie.
#40 When Jean-Robert was talking to James in the water about courtney, the conversation was actually much longer and too nsfw to show on TV. Todd briefly mentions what they said in an earlier appearance on RHAP. Source : "Todd Herzog and Coby Archa on a Crazy Double Elimination Survivor Podcast" 59:13
Can you imagine if Todd played in modern survivor. Him talking about his sexuality and being rejected by his parents and religion etc, that would have been a two minute long "personal segment". Amazing how survivor didnt care about those things back in season 15
China was my first season, so I might have a bit of bias, but Todd is my favorite winner (as a person not necessarily as a player) and I identify with him a ton. And Courtney is my favorite character of all time
More than likely because that stuff was still extremely controversial back then. Survivor, especially back then, had a very large and very conservative fan base, they wanted their nerdy super-fan turned winner to be someone that the audience would root for. So they took out the most controversial and potentially pollarizing element of his character.
@@roger_towny_jr lmao as a Chinese Canadian I wasn’t too attuned to American culture back then. When Todd was introduced as “a gay Mormon flight attendant”, I was like huh? What? 😆
The Connie Chung parody character from MAD TV mirrored real Survivor finalists during jury questioning with their comedic quote. They said "I try to be someone others can come to in times of support" or something along those lines. Totally reminded me of Cassandra from Fiji.. 🤣
In regards to the leslie secret about Courtney… I hope that in some weird way she was glad to learn that Courtney’s snark and sass is what people actually love about her instead of hating her
"If we stayed another season in the South Pacific we would lose our minds" Now he knows how I feel Edit: I actually really love the artstyle in Fiji, especially the tribal council set on the mountain
China is by far my favorite season. The location is gorgeous, they work in the culture well, and basically the entire cast is likable. It's such a rare treat
Say what you will about Probst.. but that guy has the coolest fcking job in the world. Edit: correction: second-coolest job. The Dream Team is the coolest job lol
I love Denise idc what y'all say she did not lie. She MAY have tried to exaggerate how much it affected her, but she didn't lie. And it's adorable that she's had the same haircut since she was 7 lol
23:50 I mean.. tbf she said that, what? Like 12 years ago? Lmao a lot changes in 12 years, and there's a big difference between leaving a baby for a month and leaving a 12 year old for a month. And plus who could turn down a season of all legends?? I'd probably rearrange my entire life for that if I had to 😂
If you understand the nuance of poker and what not, that hand with jrb and Garrett is actually pretty brutal. Jrb plays on hustler live casino pretty frequently and does pretty well
Most surprising secret is definitely that Garret is a better poker player than JonRobert! Not that I expected JR to be good, just didn’t expect Garret to be either! 😂
9:00 please don't forget to add how DR. PHIL "drunkED" Todd for that episode. That shouldn't be left out. DR. PHIL DRUNKed Todd for his show to look more dramatic.
Todd is such an inspiration for someone who really turned his life around. His funkos are amazing. I wish they did have him on WaW. They needed the diversity (lgbtq winner) & he has a great story.
